  1. I like your idea, but if you start sympathising with the main antagonist it takes away alot of the protaganist's motivation for taking him down. Officer Tenpenny from San Andreas was the perfect bad guy for that game ( Samuel L Jackson is so good ). Introducing him at the beginning of San Andreas and having him take all the player's money aswell as dropping him in enemy gang territory was a genius start to a game. And really made you feel like you were starting from rock bottom, with Tenpenny having all the power. Dimitri from lV didn't feel like much of a threat, he was more of a wimpy nerd with a bunch of Russian Mafia Henchman at his call. Niko was never really in danger, so they had to make him seem more vulnerable by adding his weak degenerate gambling cousin into the mix. I think GTA V needs to have multiple Antagonists, each with there own agenda and with differing levels of threat. All culminating in a truly scary Bad Guy that makes the others look like pussies in comparison. I'm sure Rockstar can pull this off.....................................................................
  2. If they let you swim underwater this time, they should create something underwater worth exploring. For instance Ship Wrecks, Underwater Caves with treasure or monsters or something. Maybe let you do some Spear Fishing ( so you can kill Flipper ). So you can stay under water for longer maybe introduce scuba gear, or extra lung capacity ( if they brought back any RPG elements ). Also there needs to be sharks further out to sea in the deep water, and maybe a giant octopus or something really deep under the water. Maybe the lost city of Atlantis or Rapture :D
  3. I don't think the older guy, this Ned Luke will be the protaganist. More than likely he will be involved as a supporting character. I would rather have a younger protaganist like a latino gang member or something. Someone who is lighter on their feet, and more responsive in a firefight. Although the tagline with the Trailer is "The pursuit of the Almighty Dollar", so maybe Rockstar is trying a different approach. Maybe something unexpected and original with a more Mature Main Protaganist. The guy in the trailer could even be reminiscing about when he was younger. With the events in the game taking place when he was a younger man, working his way up to become what he is in the trailer. Maybe there will be time differences in the game where the cityscape changes over time, as you follow this guy's journey to the top of the Criminal Ladder.
  4. I agree with the tougher part, but listening to the dumbass reactions from the cops as I wasted them in lV was always funny.

    360 vs PS3

Are you trying to imply they're trying to create a monopoly? Definately, especially with cross-platform marketing. I mean every time you see an add for Call of Duty on TV, which console do you see advertised at the end. It sure isn't the PS3. I think this is just another factor in Microsoft's conerstone of the Casual Gaming market.
  6. I want a customizable Bugatti Veyron, and a custom Lamborghini Aventador. Also some customizable Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, and Low Riders would be nice.
  7. I like this idea. Being able to grab temporary weapons in the environment like bricks from construction sites, pipes off of buildings, metal/wooden fence posts ( maybe with nails stuck to them ). Or maybe to even build custom melee weapons. Like having the tool stores from GTA Vice City, and buying nails from there and putting them onto a baseball bat. Or buying a bunch of nuts and bolts plus some fertilizer and createing homemade IED shrapnel bombs. This could be utilized in the early part of the game before you get access to more advanced weaponry.

    360 vs PS3

Sony all the way, reasons: - Black Console is better than a crappy silver/white one ( yes I know they have Black ones now but it's too late ) - I have had a PS1, PS2, PS3 so I am more than used to the controller and know the button layout blind folded, and besides which I remember playing the original Xbox at a friends house and the contoller was like a lightwieght fat brick in the hands and felt very uncomfortable with a wierd button layout. The Xbox 360 was little better with the down pad and left joystick in the wrong place and not symetrical like the PS Controller. Xbox Fanboys bragging about the triggers being "so much better" are QDs, I don't see much difference in FPS games where I'm a master with my PS Controller. Also them whining about how the PS3 Dualshock controller hurts their puny hands after prolonged use, all I have to say on this matter is to harden the fuck up you weak little cunts. My hands never get tired even after gaming all day, but then again my hands aren't weak like a little girls from using a subpar controller. Love my DualShock a major reason I will buy a PS4 over a Xbox 720. - Playstation not only has more exclusive games, in my opinion it has better exclusives than the Xbox. Ofcourse this excludes Halo which I have played on friends systems and is a great FPS, also I think Forza is a better alternative to Gran Turismo. I don't care about Gears, it doesn't look very interesting. - I hate Microsoft and the way they keep buying exclusivity for DLC's and their cheap tactics to try and sway the weaker playstation players to their cause. Their Jedi Mind Tricks won't work on me. - I love my free online and have no download speed problems with updates and such like other players complain about ( I have a great internet connection though, helps get the edge in FPS games aswell probably ) - I like Playstation's simple and easy to use media bar layout for it's home menu ( and without all the bullshit advertisement the casual/maintream gamer shitbox has ) - I like the Idea that the playstation cost more when it came out, and that it came out after the Xbox. This really tested the loyalty of the true Playstation Fanboys. And most in Australia, the US and POM Land gave into temptation and thus bought the subbar cheaper system. Getting what they paid for, and paying the price for not having patience, also most casual gamers here in Aus play the Xbox. The extra cost and longer wait meant that the playstation had more true gamers. - My PS3 has Blu Ray and does not need multiple disks for the bigger games ( what a joke ), and I can play all my Blu Ray movies without an additional Blu Ray Player. - There are less assholes in the playstation community even though we still have some ( but nowhere near as many as the Xbox ) When it comes down to it the Xbox 360 feels subpar and like a casual gaming machine to me. It doesn't look as sleek ( Console and Controller ) or feel as slick as a PS3. Just my Opinion. End Troll.
  9. I don't know why people hate on Far Cry 2, it was a great game. I loved the atmosphere and the landscape, but I specifically loved the way you could tactically take on outposts and mobile patrols anyway you wanted. You could mix up which weapons you used and how you would approach each situation and your plan of attack. Best of all the enemies were actually dangerous and worked together to flank you and provide cover fire for each other. And ofcourse who could forget the spectacular fire effects and how fast it would propogate ( I swear still the most realistic fire effects in any game ). I have high hopes for Far Cry 3, I just hope that the linear looking demos don't represent a decrease in player freedom.
  10. I remember before GTA San Andreas even came out there were like a hundred 0 ratings on Metacritic for it from all the jealous Xbox Fanboys. It was a truly epic game and one of if not the best experiences I had on the PS2 and in gaming in general. I was still in High School at the time it came out and became so absorbed in it's world I had to take a couple of weeks off from school just to satiate my apatite for it. It's just great when you go into a game with zero expectations only to be blown away. These days it seems to be the opposite. Ofcourse it's hard to go back to it now as a previous poster implied. But it's like that with gaming in general. Everything advances so much it's hard to go back to the old graphics and mechanics which were later improved upon. But at the time it had know real competition to it's dominance as the #1 game. I mean who even remembers Halo 2, it was just another generic shooter. But San Andreas was something special.
  11. Fair Enough, I would personally like to see a few more gameplay options, in GTA4 everything seemed dumbed down a bit compared to GTASA. I'm looking for extended playability and hope Rockstar cram as much stuff as possible into GTAV. I remember playing San Andreas and almost feeling overwhelmed with the wealth of options. It was a rare game, and not many games since have replicated this feeling. Also you talk about change as if it's a bad thing. Without change there would be no originality because everything would stay the same, besides every GTA game has felt unique and different from the previous entries. GTA can never be compared to Saints Row, because even though they are both open world games Rockstar has always made a higher quality product. So any ideas and mechanics that are similar to the ones in Saints Row, would no doubt be better realised in a GTA game.
  12. God! I see this statement all the time and it pisses me off that whenever someone suggests a change to the core gameplay ( to possibly make it more varied and fun ), they remind me that GTA is not Saints Row. I flippin' know it's not Saints Row. And by the way GTA San Andreas had the ability of learning a different fighting technique in all Three Cities if you defeated the fighter based there. By memory it was boxing at the gym in Los Santos, Karate in San Fierro and Kickboxing in Las Venturas.
  13. Easily remedied, just make peds more dangerous with varying threat levels from pussy's that run away when confronted to unassuming Martial Artists that can counter your attacks ( It could be anyone, even old grannys that turn out to be like 10th Dan Masters ).
  14. There is a general rule I follow to whether a song is in the hip hop genre or not. If it has mostly rap and i mean good rap, not the half assed shit you see in R&B songs with Akon and all the little QDs you see today. And only a little bit of singing maybe in the background mixed with the music or in the main chorus, that is Hip Hop. If it has any Male/Female Pop or R&B artist singing more than the Hip Hop artist is rapping, than the song is probably one of the many mainstream Pop/R&B pieces of shit which disguises itself as Modern Hip Hop. And all of this so-called Hip Hop is there to cater to little kids, and all the teenage girls who don't want to be called a bitch or a hoe and wouldn't know a good song if it took a massive chunk out of their ass. I haven't heard proper Hip Hop in Australia for years. It's like they've banned it on all TV and Radio Stations here. You have to search the internet using music search engines and sift through all the shit to find any decent music these days and alot of it isn't Main Stream it's Underground. All I need is a basic beat and a great rhyme and I'm usually happy, although the better songs with all the elements working together ( great rhyme, phat beat, and tight tune all blending seamlessly ) are harder to find. I suggest listening to these: - Army of the Pharohs ~ Cookin Keys - Big L ( Feat Fat Joe ) ~ The Enemy - Dead Prez ~ Hip Hop - AZ ~ The Format - Luniz ~ I Got 5 On It - Gangstarr and Inspecta Deck ~ Above The Clouds - NAS ~ New York State Of Mind - Royce Da 5'9 ( Feat DJ Premier ) ~ BOOM - Zion I ~ Spinnin - Dilated Peoples ~ Worst Comes To Worst - Jedi Mind Tricks ~ Violent By Design - Non Phixion ~ Exisitence - Immortal Technique ~ Dancing With The Devil I could give you a tonne more but I will give you these, just a few of my favourite tracks. This stuff is Real Hip Hop, with proper lyrics which make you think or at least paint a detailed picture, they also have great original beats ( Especially any songs Featuring DJ Premiere ). All I can say is if you don't like these than you don't like Hip Hop.
  15. I think there should be different Martial Arts Dojos dotted around the city, and the further you progress in the storyline the more different and powerful dojo's become available to the player. For instance you could start with a basic street fighting style ( brawler ) as a default. Then after the first couple of missions say a Western Boxing Gym or a Kyokushin Karate Dojo opens up for a more advanced style, giving you an edge in basic one on one fights ( this could aslo be Gung Fu, Judo, Jui Jitsu, Muay Thai or maybe even Aikido so you can kick ass like Steven Seagul throwing people around ) Then towards the end of the Main Story or after completeing side missions as a reward you open up the more powerful dojos that combine most of the arts into a more practical and powerful style, ie Krav Maga ( the Israili Special Forces Martial Art ), Keysi Fighting Method ( fight like Batman against multiple enemies ) or Jeet Kune Do ( Bruce Lee's 'Way Of The Intercepting Fist' which is an inaccurate desription because it incorporates an evolving and ever changing style bringing together many different styles of Martial Art, was one of the inspirations for the MMA we see today ). These styles will let you more easily confont multiple npc's. This is especially usefull ingame when you assault a Female NPC, because as you probably know all males in the vicinty become hostile and attack you to defend her honour. Which often means you have to pull out your firearm before you get overwhelmed or have to runaway like a pussy ( No Thanks! ). This is because the hand to hand fighting sysem in the old GTA's won't let you attack and defend from multiple enemies effectively. Which often results in you getting your ass kicked, well NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!! Starts screaming like Bruce Lee WHOAAAARRGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. It could be like the island on Lost with a hidden bunker and strange monsters that live inland. Or maybe totally different like cannibals or zombies or something.
  17. Marny- 1 I can accept the humour I've heard it all before. I'm just trying to present a fresh perspective. From what I've seen there seems to be alot of hate for San Andreas ( which is wierd on a GTA Forum/ or maybe not I'm new ). I understand it's just opinion and that others justifiably want a radically different game from San Andreas. I 100% agree, It would be boring if it was the same game. And I trust Rockstar will make a truly original feeling game ( just like all the other games they have made ). Also there are two major differences between the sick racist humor in these games and on a forum. One this is real life and the opinions come from real people, and two GTA is a Satire on Society, and the jokes made in this parody serve a purpose of condemning rather than glorifying the subject matter ( even though this is sometimes hard to tell ). You can still enjoy it ( and I do ), but you still remember it's a game. If we accepted the violence portrayed in the game, there would be alot more mass murders in the countries that have these games. But we don't because most adults ( and even kids ) understand it's just a game and not to be re-enacted/copied. So if your assertion was that I am contradicting myself, I believe that is wrong. Just because I play a sometimes sick and racist game does not mean I myself am sick and racist. Even though I am, but everybody is aren't they? Sorry for rambling I don't even really care.
  18. I don't know if someone else said this but I think they should limit the gun capacity to only how many could be carried realistically. This would mean multiple Knives, Handguns, SMG's, Machine Pistol's and other close quarter weapons ( that could be dual wielded ), as well as having 2 primary weapons like an Assault Rifle with connected 203 grenade launcher and a seperate RPG/40mm Grenade Launcher. This would force you to have a gunsafe in your safe house, which would enable you to interchange stored and equipped weapons at your leisure for different missions which will need different types of force.
  19. I don't like the speeding tickets idea. In GTAIV I drove everywhere like I was in the movie Speed, trying to keep above 50MPH. Otherwise BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Brian without organised crime and street gangs there won't be a whole lot to do in the criminal aspect of the game. What would you like to see instead. Maybe the protaganist gets a job at Walmart and start contributing to society, after that he could start dating get married and end up with 2.5 kids and a mortgage. Yeah I like this idea, and it sounds a hell of alot more intersting than having any criminal element in a GTA game
  21. I like how you guys hate the idea of playing as a black or latino gang member, especially ViceMan " the honky hating machine " ( and that alot of other's agree judging by the likes his comment got ). I was just wondering whether you are one of the people that disliked San Andreas more than Vice City purely because of the protaganist being Black, and the concentration on "Black Music" in the game. I personally enjoyed the street aspect of San Andreas, and respected Rockstar's interesting approach to the idea. And as for the theories on GTAV concentrating on organised crime completely, and forgetting the street gang aspects of LA entirely. To me this sounds very boring and a missed opurtunity on Rockstar's part to show LA in it's entirety. I mean come on you can't have an open world crime game in LA without Bloods, Crips and the Gang's with the Brown Flags. It would be interesting to show the Latino Gangs connection with the Prison Gang " LA EME " and how the Mexican Mafia is involved on the street side of things. Instead of the old Italian Mafia, Russian Mafia thing ( which were done to death in the last games ). Just my opinion ( and yes I do think I'm Black because I like Rap Music ) ( Even though I'm White and live in Australia and should probably like "Soft Cock Rock" better ).
  22. I mostly like Hip Hop and a little bit of everything else ( but mostly Hip Hop ).Here's some good Hip Hop Songs I would like to see: - The Enemy ~ Big L ( Ft. Fat Joe ) - Cookin Keys ~ Army Of The Pharoahs - The Format ~ AZ - Hip Hop ~ Dead Prez - Worst Comes To Worst ~ Dilated Peoples - Lose Yourself ~ Eminem - Breath ~ Fabolous - Above The Clouds ~ Gangstarr & Inspecta Deck - I Got 5 On It ~ Luniz - Shook Ones, Pt. 2 ~ Mobb Deep - Get Away ~ Mobb Deep - New York State Of Mind ~ NAS - BOOM ~ Royce Da 59 ( Ft. DJ Premier ) - Last Motherfucker Breathing ~ Tupac - Cream ~ Wu Tang Clan - Death Around The Corner ~ Tupac - Vato ~ Snoop Dogg - 10 Lil Crips ~ Snoop Dogg - Ain't No Sunshine ~ DMX - Westside Story ~ The Game - When We Ride On Our Enemies ~ Tupac - Violent By Design ~ Jedi Mind Tricks - Spinin ~ Zion I - Temperature ~ Zion I ( Ft Talib Kweli ) - Throw Your Set In The Air ~ Cypress Hill - Tequila Sunrise ~ Cypress Hill - Still D.R.E ~ Dr. Dre ( Ft. Snoop Dogg ) - This Is What It Sounds Like ~ Black Moon - Stand Clear ~ M.O.P - Spit Your Game ~ Notorious B.I.G ( Ft. Twista and Krayzie Bone ) - Kick In The Door ~ Notorious B.I.G - Bells Of War ~ Wu Tang Clan - Blood In Blood Out ~ Jedi Mind Tricks - Contra ~ Jedi Mind Tricks ( Ft. Killa Sha ) - Dancing With The Devil ~ Immortal Technique - Down For My Niggas ~ Snoop Dogg - Existence ~ Non Phixion - Gangsta's Paradise ~ Coolio - Hard Knock Life ~ Jay Z - Holler Back ~ Kool G Rap ( Ft. Nas & AZ ) - Hood Shit ~ Termanology ( Ft. Prodigy ) - I'm The King ~ Royce Da 5'9" - Invincible ~ Capone-N-Noreaga - Jesus Walks ~ Kanye West - Keep It Thoro ~ Prodigy - Simon Says ~ Pharoahe Monche - Next Level ~ Showbiz & AG - Oh No ~ Mos Deff ( Ft. Nate Dogg & Pharoahe Monche ) - Phone Tap ~ AZ - Platinum Plus ~ Big L ( Ft. Big Daddy Kane ) - Real Talk ~ Outlawz - Rubberband Man ~ T.I. - Send A Nigga Home ~ Bishop Lamont - Shotz To Tha Double Glock ~ Bone Thugz-N-Harmony - Sippin On Some Syrup ~ Three Six Mafia - Caltroit ~ Bishop Lamont They could make a couple of Rap Radio Stations with these quality tracks. -
  23. Right now I am hoping Rockstar is concentrateing on making a great game. Without planning DLC's ahead of time just to boost profits and strip features that were originally going to be put in the main game ( ie The Ballad Of Gay Tony ).
  24. I know that it was confirmed by Rockstar awhile ago that GTAV would be set in Los Santos only. But I think the only reason they did this was to gauge a reaction from the public ( and decrease anticipation ). I think 6 months before release they will come out and say It will cover all 3 Cities from the original SA and the countryside inbetween ( therefore blowing away everyone's expectations and creating an even bigger hype surrounding the game ). There are going to be JET AEOROPLANES!!!!! This means the map would have to be a decent size to accomodate them, otherwise it would be a pretty short trip from one side of the island to the other.
  25. I also love all of the Total War games, from Shogun all the way through to Shogun 2 ( yes even Empire ). I can't wait to see how they can improve Rome 2 from the original which in my opinion was the best Total War game of the series. Specifically because of the setting in the Ancient Roman Empire having such a great atmosphere. This could end up being one of the best Strategy Games ever made. Hopefully Creative Assembly don't get lazy and add plenty of variation in the units, as well as more in depth empire building in terms of the Cities/Units and Trade/Economic/Diplomacy side of things. I want a ton of interesting content that will keep me playing for months on end. YEAHHHH ROME 2 TOTAL WAR!!!!!!!!
