I never did like power metal that much, too weak for me, but maybe in small doses I could listen to it. I'm more into black, death and grindcore.

Stu Block? Ok singer, from a shitty band. Doubt IE will last much longer, especially with Sons of Liberty as well.

Analogue: The Epigenesis is fantastic, I highly recommend everyone buy it. Not quite as good as Djinn, but still really good. Sacred Geometry is a great song, but I can't find a youtube video.

Got it. I'm $25 poorer, but I've got it. Tis awesome, although I'd only heard a few songs from them before, so I can't really compare it to their other albums.

In awesome news, Jeff Hanneman is still out of Slayer, and Pat O'Brien will be filling in for him at some upcoming shows in the US. Now if Kerry King would just fall ill for a while...

HUGE FUCKING NEWS EDIT!!!!

for me, at least.

Source: http://www.metal-rules.com/metalnews...-van-williams/

Nevermore guitar player Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams have announced their departure from the group. The two have released a joint statement:

“In a mutual decision Jeff Loomis and Van Williams have decided to leave Nevermore. The time has come to pursue our own paths from the group. Due to internal struggles and ongoing issues within the band, we feel it is our time to move on. We would like to thank all of our fans around the world for their years of love, support and enthusiasm. This was not an easy decision but a very necessary one at this point, may we all meet again someday, somewhere in time.”

Loomis and Williams had been with Nevermore since the band’s first album, 1995′s self titled, Nevermore.

NEVERMORE recently announced that they would be cancelling their planned tour with Symphony X. No information regarding additional confirmed tour dates is known at this time.

Fucking hell! I just bought tickets for their show here a few weeks back. That's it for them, surely? No Loomis???

Anyone a big enough fan of "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?" to uh, buy this?

MEGADETH - Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? Remastered/Expanded For 25th Anniversary 2CD, Digital, 5Disc/3LP Box Set

Rarities

Posted on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 11:22:18 EST

MEGADETH's vital, Platinum-certified album, Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying?, has been digitally remastered for the first time and expanded for a commemorative 25th Anniversary release in multiple configurations on July 12th by Capitol/EMI.

All of the versions, including a 2CD lift-top box, digital album, and a deluxe 5Disc+3LP box set, include a previously unreleased 1987 concert from the band’s first world tour and new liner notes written by Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and METALLICA's Lars Ulrich.

The deluxe box set also includes previously unreleased and rare mixes of the album’s tracks and hi res audio for the remastered album and concert, as well as an expanded 20-page book, plus 8”x10” photos and reproductions of vintage Megadeth memorabilia. The cover of the box uses a new, unique process of lenticular 3D which reinterprets the original cover, creating the illusion of Megadeth’s Vic Rattlehead character jumping out of the art.

Released in 1986, Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? was Megadeth’s second album and the band’s first Capitol/EMI release. The acclaimed album thrust Megadeth into the international spotlight, and it remains a powerful thrash metal staple.

In his liner notes for the new edition, Dave Mustaine reflects on writing the album’s title track: “I had written other lyrics by now, but there was something different about ‘Peace Sells’ because it told my story about my faith; my beliefs; my distrust of government; my work ethic; my integrity. This was MY song.”

“If there’s a new way, I’ll be the first in line”

“Amen!,” continues Mustaine. “I was so tired of not shaving, not bathing, not eating, not having a home, a companion, NOTHING. Yeah, I’ll be the first in line, but it had better work this time. Well, it was working, thank God, just fast enough for what I needed, but not nearly as fast as I would hope.”

"Whether you heard this record for the first time in 1986, or you hear this record for the first time today or tomorrow, Peace Sells is a great heavy metal album," writes Lars Ulrich in his liner notes for the new edition. "Nothing more, nothing less. It has stood the test of time. And will continue to do so."

I forgot to mention that K.K Downing has left Judas Priest. Which isn't as earth-shattering as Loomis leaving Nevermore, purely because K.K is about 60, and the old coot's going to die soon enough. Plus, from what i've read about JP, Tipton used to play K.K's parts when he left the stage in a huff back in the day.

Speaking of Death, I can't wait for the remixed "Human" to come out. Finally, you'll be able to properly hear DiGiorgio's bass. Also, there was the remastered "Sound Of Perseverance" that came out not long ago, but the original version is fucking awesome, so it didn't really need remastering.

Preview of new Morbid Angel album

Doesn't sound bad.

I too am ridiculously excited for the remaster of Human. I try my hardest to hear Steve's bass but I can barely hear it except in certain parts of songs. I'm also eager for them to remaster Individual Thought Patterns. The album always seemed to have sort of a film over the sound. It could be a lot more crisp, and of course the bass needs to be turned up. Sound of Perseverance remaster? What was different about that?

I think it sounds absolutely awful! WTF? LOL wow I'm blown away by this crap, but not surprised. R.I.P. Morbid Angel 1989-1993

Apparently, the drums are a bit crisper in the the Sound Of Perseverance remaster. I'm yet to hear it.

I only heard bits and pieces of that Morbid Angel album preview. On further reflection, it's fucking shit. Trey must have had a lobotomy at some point in the 90's. I can only hope they chose to preview all the shit parts.

^I'm actually excited about a Dev Townsend release for once.

Enslaved have a new free EP out, "The Sleeping Gods", and it was completely funded by Scion. Car companies funding viking metal? What next? KFC "presents" Anaal Nathrakh?

But yeah, check it out. It's awesome as usual.

I take it you've never bothered to listen to Domination? Brilliant album. Those audio samples sound pretty awful, though. Hopefully they just forgot to provide samples of all the groove.

Album of 2011: Primordial - Redemption at the Puritan's Hand. Don't bother buying any other music this year, we already have a winner.

Yeah, I love Domination.

Can I still buy Megadeth's new album? Someone has to feed Dave's kids. :(

Hate Eternal's latest is my favourite so far, but I haven't heard many new releases this year.
