Grand Theft Auto V: The Sum of all Peers
BlackSox9 replied to Bronson's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
Just Cause 2 & Day Z have big maps, and I wouldn't say that they're Next-Gen. It's how believable and alive the world feels, and how immersed you become while in it. That's the real measure of how good a game is. And I think that Next Gen games will be defined by how immersive their worlds are. ( not just how good their graphics are ) And GTA V will be leading the way into Next-Gen Game-World design, by being the most influential Open World Game of this generation. And THE model upon which all other Open-World games are judged ( especially early Next-Gen games/ like Watch Dogs ). -

[ Excerpt ] ~ "There are a range of new customisable targeting options as well". ^^^ I wonder what they mean by this? Also I thought the article was a good read, no real new information, but still interesting. And I think the Next-Gen game ( on current gen hardware ) part was in relation to how Rockstar managed to get all of the mechanics from their previous games to work harmoniously together in the one package. How they have crammed so many unique animations for the Characters and NPC's into it, and all the unique NPC dialogue & encounters into one game. Not to mention the new weather mechanics, and enhanced graphical subtleties. Improved AI, improved Gunplay Mechanics, and the new Ambient Score are also helping to make gunfights better than they have ever been before. Differences in the weight and control of the Three Protagonists when on foot, and their individual special abilities help set them apart ( as well as the more obvious differences like appearance/ and dialogue ). I think this article went over a few of your heads. I know it was only pointing out a lot of unimpressive subtle changes ( made from previous Rockstar games ), that have gone into improving GTA. But taken as a whole, they will make the gameplay feel much more cohesive, and just plain better than any other Rockstar game to date. -
Yeah that's sad. A cockpit view could of added tons of immersion to the game ( especially for the fighter jets ).

Yeah I can't wait to play it. Except looking at the User Reviews for it on Metacritic, a lot of people seem to be complaining about Bugs & other Technical Issues. Have you had any problems so far?

Old Guns and New Guns
BlackSox9 replied to FALLOUT3D3MON's topic in GTA 5 Pre-Release Discussion (Closed)
Some new info from the previews yesterday ~ http://www.gamepur.c...s-and-more.html [Excerpt] ~ - "Sniper Rifles can be upgraded with a Thermo Scope which can be activated on the run". Coupled with ~ - "Night time is more realistic and is a big improvement from IVs "darkness". At a certain part of Blaine County the only real source of light were Trevor's vehicle headlamps". [End Quote] Which means that Night time will be almost Pitch-Black in some areas of the map. And if you join this together with a gun that has an Infrared Scope and a Suppressor Attachment, you could totally own any enemies in the darkness ( especially with a high Stealth Skill ). Hopefully there are Night Vision goggles as well, so you can use weapons other than the sniper rifle in the dark. Pair that with a suppressor on your Pistol or SMG and you could easily hunt down enemy NPC's. You could also kick other Player's asses in GTA Online using some smart tactics at night as well...............................as long as they don't have a flashlight attachment on their weapon... -
So Brian is the game good? I'm waiting for my pre-order to be delivered from England.

Yeah I was recalling it from memory ( and memory isn't picture perfect ). Three Guys, two of the Masks are the same, in an industrial setting, so sue me. I was wrong, ya happy??? -

It looks like full-blown Movies are coming to GTA V ~ http://au.ign.com/ar...o-online?page=2 Excerpt from IGN ~ Go to the Movies "Yes, there are movies to watch in Grand Theft Auto V, and in Online you can watch them with your friends. Maybe you’ll just laugh together, or perhaps you’ll go the Rifftrax route and crack jokes at what’s happening on the screen. Sadly, I wasn’t able to visit a theater during my hands-on time, nor would Rockstar provide any additional details, besides confirming that 16 of you can pack the theater. Looks like this will have to remain something of a surprise, not that that’s a bad thing…" [ End Quote ] This looks a lot like one of the possible Movie Theatres ( Doppler ) ~ I wonder what type of movies will be played, Westerns/ Mobster Movies/ Comedies/ Heist Movies??? I can't wait to see what's on!!! Also, I predicted this on page 6 as well...- 152 replies

The IGN Reviewers haven't really gotten into the meat of the game yet. The final review will be a lot better once they've had a proper un-restricted playthrough of the game. Once they have explored the world, used the new game mechanics, played the side missions and activities, driven more of the cars/ helicopters/ planes and submarines ( and upgraded them ), bought some properties and businesses, invested in stock, gotten more weapons ( and customized them to suit their personal playstyle ), gotten haircuts and tattoos, bought more clothes, watched TV, had a look at the in-game Internet, listened to the Radio, listened to the new Ambient Score during fights with the cops/ gangs ( or when hunting in Blaine County's Wilderness ), participated in illegal street races, off-road ATV/ Motocross races, Speed Boat/ Jet-Ski Races, Ran/ Swam and Cycled in Triathlons, done some Most Wanted missions, and Assassination Missions, explored the shipwrecks and coral reefs under the sea ( avoiding sharks ), taken a Katana to a Bear, Sky-Dived out of Helicopters and Planes, Base-Jumped off of buildings, bridges and cliffs, played Tennis and Golf ( plus there are probably more sports like B-Ball ). As well as many other things we don't even know about yet. And at the end of the Review they will declare that GTA V is not only the best game this year, but THE BEST GAME EVER!!! -

Just pointing out that the Airstrip is fully functional... And "The Lost" had an Eagle design for their logo in GTA lV, while the "Angels of Death" had a Skull. Of course Rockstar could have redesigned "The Lost MC's" Logo into a Skull with Wings. And if the "Angels of Death" are in GTA V their logo could be completely different ( that's if there isn't a totally new Biker Gang this time around replacing them/ like one similar to "The Mongols MC" ).

I'm pretty sure that this ^^ is either "The Lost MC" or the "Angels of Death MC's" Airfield ( notice the skull and wings in the background of the plane ) ( and the motorbike in the distance/ Far-Right Centre of the Screen )

First Hands On Preview

i was playing iv yesterday so it might be a bad thing. Them being a challenge sounds good in theory. For instance having to make a plan for how you're going to deal with them ( tactics & strategy ). Like having better weapons and equipment before engaging with them, and having a getaway route, or a good defensive position to fall back to. But it could get annoying if you're just screwing around ( fighting NPC's or simulating a "Demolition Derby" in heavy traffic ), and are then put down efficiently by the coppers in under a minute on just a 2-3 Star Wanted Level... -

The Cops sound like they're a lot tougher than they were in GTA lV. And this makes me wonder, is this a good thing or a bad thing? ( gameplay wise ) -
I know what you did, you probably only watched a small portion of the Video ( or didn't watch it at all ), and then tried to call me out. I went into the video with an open mind, watched it entirely from start to end and was astounded by the stupidity of IGN's Reviewers. So I posted my frustration here ( since it's a waste of time doing it on IGN/ So many Xbox Console Idiots on there ). So before you try and call anyone out as overreacting again, actually read the article or watch the video in the link before making your judgement...

So you agree with the IGN Reviewers that ~ ~ The TW games are hard to understand ~ That information on in-game mechanics is hard to find ~ That the path-finding on the campaign map is poor ~ That the animations of soldiers in the battle are asynchronous ~ That the names of the units should be changed ( like from "Velites" to "Javelin Throwers" ) ~ That the performance on the Campaign Map & in the Real Time Battles is poor Do these statements that they made seem accurate to you? And do you like the way the biggest gaming news site on the planet disregards some of the biggest PC Titles? This game should have been handled by professional reviewers who know what they are talking about. The disrespect with which they have handled this game so far is beyond insulting to PC Strategy Fans. I bet you if the same thing happened with GTA V, there would be an almighty backlash the likes of which you have never seen before ...
