  1. It's kind of similar, but the fast travel system removes the need to drive long distances, which was one of my favourite things in FC2. However, the FC3 enviroment is jam packed with things to see and do, and I spend more time exploring on foot than driving. 2 and 3 are quite different. 2 had a bleak story, and it was really one man vs Africa, while 3's story is kind of dudebro-ish (Vaas is a total boss, though. One of the best game villains) . 2's setting was more unique, too. Adventure report I've killed me a few sharks. From the safety of land. Diving in this game is absolutely terrifying. Visibility is low, and it's almost impossible to kill sharks once you're in the water. I've been attacked diving to get the skin of a shark by another one.
  2. It's different, but I liked the driving in FC2, so I wouldn't say it's better. I'd say it's more precise, and you don't accidentally crash into trees every 30 seconds. It's still a pain in the arse to look behind you when you're driving. Also, enemies in vehicles are a lot easier to shake when they chase you, thankfully. In FC2, it felt like the T-100 was driving the pursuing cars.
  3. I haven't made my mind up if I want to see Sabbath or not. I guess I should go. As I was going through this year's album releases for my top ten list, 2012 has turned out to be a pretty solid year for metal. Hardly any disappointments. The shortlist I'll be working from. Kreator - Phantom Antichrist Overkill - The Electric Age Dying Fetus - Reign Supreme Cannibal Corpse - Torture (was fairly average, though) Napalm Death - Utilitarian Cattle Decapitation - Monolith Of Inhumanity Marduk - Serpent Sermon Rush - Clockwork Angels The Devin Townsend Project - Epicloud Ihsahn - Eremita (I didn't overly like it) Nile - At The Gates Of Sethu Testament - Dark Roots Of The Earth Katatonia - Dead End Kings Enslaved - RIITIR Pig Destroyer - Book Burner Wintersun - Time I Destruction - Spiritual Genocide
  4. Yeah, you can change it once you've started.
  5. Yeah, there's fast travel in this one. No malaria either. Get it. No buggy save files in this one yet. I had that problem in FC2 as well. Once again, there are no checkpoints in this one. I've gone long periods without running into any enemy pirates. My only gripe, and it's a small one, is that the main character feels a bit overpowered. I'm playing on normal difficulty, and the game is a bit easy.
  6. didn't read the spoiler but, that's my biggest concern... i liked it at first, but when i made wrong turns and had to re-do the same thing again, with less supplies i started to get bored... i like the combat scenes... low on health, having to duck into cover to pull a bullet out of your arm... that shit was sweet... the wildlife out there this time should add to the experience... like i said, i will rent it and go from there... i got 1/2 off rentals for the next two weeks, got that infamous call today... i might have to finish hitman first, then try dishonored... or far cry 3... we'll see what's there next week ... Happy to report that respawning enemies at checkpoints are gone (by far the worse thing about FC2). Also, once you clear an enemy camp, the amount of bad guys around the area is drastically reduced. The camp takeover system is very similar to Just Cause 2's, actually. Adventure report: A crocodile is the only animal to kill me so far. It got me when I ran into the water to escape being shot. You can't see them until you swim straight into them. I've now been mauled/bitten by a white tiger, a mountain lion, 2 rabid dogs, 2 snakes, and a croc.
  7. I'd say I'm a mix between Dennis Reynolds, Charlie Kelly, Urkel, and the green power ranger
  8. This game is spectacular. I just spent 6 hours straight playing it, and so much cool shit happened. Such as... - Spotting my first tiger about 100 metres away in the distance. As I was lining it up in my sights, I hear a growl to my left, and I almost get mauled to death by another tiger (pants shit). Killing it draws the attention of 5 pirates, who proceed to chase me a fair distance before I lose them ( I ran out of ammo). I was hoping to relax a bit after that, but instead I walked straight into a pair of Komodo dragons (pants re-shat). I ran like a pussy. - Getting freaked out riding a jetski over deep water. I don't want to know what's down there - Taking out an entire camp without firing a weapon. Coming into this straight after playing Hitman, I thought the stealth parts would be a bit lame, but they are well done. I've got the rare animal pack, so hopefully I'll come across a thylacine sooner rather than later.
  9. Same. Ecco The Dolphin scared the hell out of me as a child. I'll be a gibbering mess at the thought of entering the water in FC3. ERMAAGGGGGERHHHHD Let the epic map creation commence. Anyway, the reviews I've read so far have all praised the game highly. I think it will be my game of the year, although I'm enjoying Hitman heaps.
  10. Same reason people fuck virgins. Gotta get in there first before everyone tells you how good it was.
  11. The last time I was this hyped for a trailer was for the Prometheus one. And look how that turned out in the end.
  12. Picked this up yesterday. Can't wait to play it once I get a chance. Gonna stab me all kinds of redcoats. btw, I haven't played through Brotherhood and Revelations, as I wasn't that into Ezio's story after AC2 . Are they worth playing, or should I trade them in and put the money towards GTA V?
  13. Honestly, go and play with them both. If your friends have either, get on them and play. The most important thing is controller. Don't fucking listen to what any one elses opinion is on how shit or how good either controller is, use them man. You're gonna be holding it for hundreds of hours. This. I have GTA IV on ps3 and 360, and both controllers have pros and cons in regard to the controller set-up. I will say I found IV's new driving system (RT,R2 to accelerate etc) was easier to pick up with the 360, but that's because I was so familiar with the trilogy's PS2 controller layout.
  14. I'll be interested to see 'Phnom Penh 86' on ios. It was hard enough (well, the first time) on PS2. Also, I hope R* pull a George Lucas and edit in the real Vic Vance into the drug exchange scene. I still refuse to believe that fat, cuban-accented slob is Vic, despite what R* said.

  16. I quite enjoyed that. Sounded a bit like Children Of Bodom when they were good, and Laiho didn't yow-yow his way through shit.
  17. If you guys haven't seen this, check it out. http://mitchellthomp...demos/terminal/ A flash Fallout terminal hacking game some dude made. Obviously it's not as fun as the real thing, but it's a nice way to waste some time
  18. I've put together a metal playlist on youtube, with the eventual aim of setting up a metal channel of sorts. Have a gander. It needs a lot of chopping and changing.
  19. Even though it's a few months old, I haven't seen this demo yet. Skip to 2:27 for lols. The game is looking really solid. I think battling animals will be my favourite part of the game.
  20. OMG, my favourite Death album is next up for remaster DEATH: 'Spiritual Healing' Deluxe Reissue Due In November - Oct. 9, 2012 The next chapter in Relapse's DEATH reissue campaign is the landmark, genre-defining album "Spiritual Healing". Originally released in 1990, "Spiritual Healing" marked a new turn in theDEATH discography, one which ushered in cleaner production, a new level of boundary pushing musicianship and songwriting skills that were previously unimaginable from a metal band. "Spiritual Healing" sets the standard for riffs, insane time changes and of course mainman Chuck Schuldiner's masterful guitar solos. Now reissued as a double CD housed in super deluxe packaging featuring brand new liner notes from DEATHplayers James Murphy and Terry Butler, Chuck's sister Beth Schuldiner and VOLBEAT frontman Michael Poulsen, Disc 1 features a completely new remaster of the original album and Disc 2 contains 16 previously unreleased rehearsal, outtakes and studio instrumentals. In addition to the 2-disc edition, limited-edition (2000 machine-numbered copies) triple CD digipak will be available exclusively from Relapse.com. The third CD features a never-before-released live set recorded in 1990 featuring the "Spiritual Healing" DEATH lineup. An iTunes deluxe edition will also be released containing five additional previously unreleased pre-"Human" rehearsal tracks not available on either of the CD versions. "Spiritual Healing" will be released on November 20 in North America, November 23 in Benelux, Germany and Finland, and November 26 in the rest of the world. "Spiritual Healing" follows the recent Relapse Records reissues ofDEATH classics "Individual Thought Patterns", "The Sound of Perseverance", "Human" and the live collection "Vivus!" plus Chuck Schuldiner projects MANTAS and CONTROL DENIED. Like those reissues, this collection will contain extensive liner notes from previous members and never-before-seen photos of the band. Pre-order options, including a new line of exclusive DEATH merch and a super limited die-hard fan pack containing an exclusive shirt design, poster flag, and patch, pin, guitar pick, sticker set can be found at this location.
