  1. Yes, Area 51 was in San Andreas, and it was a reasonable distance from Las Venturas (which is obviously not in GTA V) at a time where R* wasn't quite as concerned with making a realistic setting as they are now. The setup of the map from a game made nearly eight years ago, when Rockstar wasn't trying to make GTA realistic, has no bearing on what GTA V will be like, so the point you were trying to make is invalid.
  2. am i the only one that rents games anymore?? i beat uncharted 3 for about tree fitty... actually it was exactly tree fitty ... They shut down the Blockbuster in my town, and there's nowhere else to rent games nearby. I'm forced to wait for price drops.
  3. They do not do any kind of nuclear testing anywhere near where people live. Nuclear test sites are upwards of 100 miles away from the nearest town, and are done almost exclusively in large stretches of open desert, which doesn't exist near Oakland. There are no nuclear weapons being tested in Oakland. Also, unless another has opened up recently, the only army base in Oakland has been shut down since 1999. On top of all that, Oakland is 370 miles from Los Angeles, so even if there were an operational army base in Oakland, it wouldn't make any difference in GTA V. And yet another edit, Area 51 is 150 miles from Las Vegas, and Vegas is 265 miles from LA. I don't know all the highways in that area, so I don't know if there's a shorter route from LA to Rachel, Nevada (where Area 51 is located), but that's 415 miles, for those of you who can't do elementary school-level math.
  4. Not too bad. Granted, I won't be using my PS3 again until Uncharted 3 has a huge price drop, so that two will probably 20 by the next time I turn it on.
  5. I'm up to date just enough to have the epilepsy warning, roughly how many updates followed that?
  6. ITT: Noobs ignoring logic, thinking Area 51 is in LA, not knowing how R* works, etc.
  7. He wants a never wanted cheat, a cheat that turns you into a cop, a time machine cheat, and a cheat that makes you go to the bathroom.
  8. Just a random thought. While it doesn't look much like the old gta-sanandreas.com theme (whereas the iGTA forums did), I imagine you use the white theme, as some sort of tradition, or just indifference. I wonder what the limit is on the iphone app for shiity useless iphone app signature. I mean, did invision realise this app was so shitty that the needed to give people the ability to say "yo, sorry this post is shit snd i cant quote you or post this cool picturr i took because im using this shiity app, but on the bright side, at least now you know thats why my post sucks."... And even if thats the case why not just simply make that the default signature instead of mindfucking everyone by automatically posting null everywhere. This is an easy fix that makes me go what the fuck. I mean, hell... I know im not paying for the app so i get what i get, but thr invision board liscenses cost money and if you own a site and pay for the liscense shif should work... Also, no adsence or advertising support... Wtf. I would type more trying to get to the limit of this shitty app but ive ran out of stuff to say... So thats it
  9. I'm going to laugh pretty hard when the inevitable day comes where a new member buys a gold membership, realizes he wasted ten dollars, then makes a huge fucking deal about wanting his money back. It's going to be a landmark trollfest.
  10. ^ Similar to what I was thinking. I pictured the title sequence as a sped-up version of what led to the creation of the wasteland. I pictured a pristine building with the title on it, then a flash of light (the expansion of the sun), followed by the screen filling with sand, then the sand receding (just enough to make the lettering visible), revealing the dilapidated, ruined building and worn lettering, then the giant lizard wandering past. Expanding on that, to start the game, the camera could pan out and have the lizard moving farther into the open wasteland, then cut to the bus camp.
  11. Watching that gave me an idea for your title screen that would be a lot of trouble to do, but would be really awesome. *Leaves without explaining*
  12. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Rockstar puts an immense amount of work into assembling a soundtrack that suits the time period and city the game takes place in, because they realize that you spend the majority of the game in a vehicle, and the soundtrack is a huge part of the immersion. Rockstar cares about the soundtrack, and they spend a lot of time - months, probably - searching for the perfect songs for each game. If R* didn't care about what was on the radio in GTA, they'd just use a bunch of shitty mainstream rap music to appease the gangster-wannabe retards that just want GTA V to be a San Andreas remake. dumbest thing you've ever read are you a rockstar/GTA fucking know it all like, so how come all the songs in gta iv wer shit as fuck yeah they really took time with that 1 didnt they, u trying to say they sit there and go are this song will work good for a police chase or this one will go well with a jewelry heist and the end of the day its fuckin music and from wot i can remember every single gta other than vice city had shit as fuck songs Every song in every GTA since Vice City has fit the setting perfectly. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. You also don't know how to type, but that's a different argument, in which you will also be wrong.
  13. I will absolutely not be there, but put my name on the list for the fuck of it.
  14. That looks like the font from the Futurama logo.
  15. Well, R* used popular music for Vice City and San Andreas because popular music was actually good during those time periods. R* knows that most music sucks nowadays, that's why GTA IV's soundtrack mostly consisted of independent artists and music a lot of people have never heard of. A lot of independent rappers on the West Coast today are just as good as the rappers from the 90's. R* will find the right music, don't worry.
  16. There's an 'Edit' button at the bottom of your post, just click that when you need to correct something.
  17. There's most likely more than one airstrip, but there's nothing to indicate that there would be more than one major airport, or that there is more than one island. The map may consist of one large island, or may not be an island at all.
  18. Yeah, prevent people from cheating in a single-player mode that has no effect on your own game, just because you don't like the use of cheats. Makes perfect sense. Why should people be able to make their own decisions?
  19. Why the hell would you dump a body in broad daylight? That's just irresponsible.
  20. It's the sig that his iPhone puts at the end of his post, not the actual sig. You can change what the sig is. it's the "Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone." replacer.
  21. That annoying iPhone sig makes every post seem like it has actual substance.
