The Witcher is an amazing series. I loved the combat system, and the potion crafting was very extensive, forming an important game mechanic. With regards to PS4, I'm probably going to buy in 2015 when The Division comes out.

Has anybody watched The Originals? My friend recommended it to me, and I'm normally quite skeptical in his judgement of TV/movies, but I'll give it a go regardless.

Vikings is so fucking badass. Grown up Bjorn is hench.

And also, final day of the EPL. If Man City lose to West Ham and Liverpool beat Newcastle, the title will swing to the reds. Nothing really significant left to play for.

I think my favourite joke of all time is Micky Flanagan's peeping. It's fucking hilarious.

Wow thanks a lot gtagrl! I will definitely try this, I've been thinking about switching to quinoa for a while now. A few of my PT friends told me it has relatively high protein content. And Brian, sandwiches are a great idea too, I'm definitely looking to cut for summer. Time is my enemy, but I will definitely try some turkey sandwiches in the future. Sounds better than turkey/rice combo i've been cobbling down the past week. If there's one thing this forum knows about, it's food.

Anybody got any tips for QUICK meals (~500 calories), preferably 1:1 carbs and protein, low fat. I'm so sick of eating half a kilo of turkey and rice. My friend suggested a can of chickpeas, two cans of tuna, a can of sweetcorn, and a diced onion. Mix it together, split it in two, then add some light mayonnaise when you want to eat it. Only takes about 5 minutes to make, or however long it takes you to open 4 cans. It helps if I can make it in advance and eat it later at work, but warm food for dinner is good too. For the next 9 weeks, food is just fuel .

So excited! I was afraid I would never play this game, now I'm definitely buying a PS4.

IPAs are too cool for me. I normally start drinks with a Stella, and move onto vodka. Scotch would be great, and I've had some expensive bottles in the past (Royal Salute), but I don't like neat. Especially since i'm just trying to get hammered, not look like Harvey Specter.

Vikings (TV show) - 8.5/10 Why the fuck have I only just discovered this?! I have a massive fondness for pirates, and vikings are essentially the original pirates. Fuck, eat meat, drink ale, kill stuff, pillage, burn, and fuck some more. Is this not life? Entourage (TV show) - 8/10 Has some great cameos in this show, and the plot isn't too bad either (in that there isn't really one). Workaholics (TV show) - 9.5/10 TV doesn't get much better than this, similar to the first few seasons of Community, this really captures a niche audience. BUT, if you can relate to the humour, it will literally be the funniest thing you've ever watched.

I fucking hate this book, feels like all I ever read are medical textbooks. I want some fiction

You gonna make a "Let's Play" for us, Dupz? Also, now that I mention it. Cuda's voice would be great for a 'Let's play'... or anything for that matter.

Thoughts on Chance the Rapper and Danny Brown? Here's some stuff if you've not heard these two guys. Chance has released both his album and mixtape for free btw. I think he's quite different, his voice is kinda love/hate, and I don't imagine a lot of people into older hiphop would like it. Regardless, I think he brings something new to the table. Danny Brown is pretty good, I've not really formed much of an opinion on him yet. I sort of skimmed over the last few pages and noticed not much love for Kendrick Lamar, who in my opinion is the best rapper right now. I'll post what I believe is his best song, if you don't like it, then he's quite clearly not for you.

Can I have a source for those figures please? I played on PS4 at my friends house a few days ago and I got bored. But this is almost entirely because of the lack of games currently available, as of yet I don't see the hype around the next-generation. Graphics are better but nothing that blew my mind, I'm sure this will improve as this console generation matures. I've not had a chance to play Xbox One, but I don't imagine there will be much visual difference between the two consoles. I can hardly ever tell the difference between 720 and 1080, nor do I notice any changes above 30 fps. I think the major problem is that when these figures are released people will convince themselves that the PS4 looks better than the Xbox One without making the decision for themselves. A somewhat quantitative measure on a qualitative measurement. I'm almost certain I will buy the PS4, but something at the back of my mind tells me that it's not all about graphics... I will wait longer and see how it pans out, in particular the online aspects of the games. Besides, the only game that interests me is The Division, and that's not out until the end of 2014 at least.

A sculptor never works a day in his life. Make your career something you enjoy, you'll be spending a considerable amount of your life doing it. This is much easier said than done though!

10 years of learning is better than 10 years of being stuck in a dead-end job. Analog, I'm unsure of how it is in America, but Veterinary Medicine is a highly competitive field in the UK, and only the highest calibre students are selected to undertake the degree. Often they require pre-qualifications equivalent to that required for medical and dental degrees, as well as undertaking a rigorous application process.
-
Unless you want to do a specific profession (law, medicine, dentistry etc.), the degree can be irrelevant. There are many companies out there who hire based on the fact that you simply have a degree, and do not care what the specialty of that degree is. I know people with Biology degrees working in management. I really should've been a surgeon. People you've only met only once are willing to let you cut them open, placing their lives' in your hands. The power (and responsibility) is amazing.

The Division, pretty much the sole reason I want next-gen.

I have a BSc. (Hons) Medical Biochemistry and am currently in my second year of graduate medicine, so I've been in higher education for 5 years now. After this I want to be a surgeon, hopefully trauma and orthopedics but plastics also interests me. An artist never works a day in his life, because his job is his hobby. Surgeons are narcissistic egomaniacs and many of them suffer from some form of psychosis, but they enjoy what they do, and that's what I want out of my career. I wholeheartedly agree with the things that Cuda and QD have written about education. Do not think that what you are learning is necessarily applicable to your life or career. However, you will adapt the way you think and your thought process will change. From this, you will become smarter and better at most things you do. In my opinion, that is the true achievement of education. This is not to say that you need education to think this way, but it certainly helps. This is not necessarily true. Some of my friends have gone straight into high paying jobs, mostly through graduate or training schemes. Some law firms will pay trainee solicitors upwards of £30,000 per annum. My friend is currently training as a store manager for one of the large supermarket companies, and she has started on £26,000, within 2 years she will become a store manager. Store managers can earn anywhere between £40,000 to £100,000+ depending on the size of the store. Some evidence: http://www.hrmagazine.co.uk/hro/news/1016883/tesco-graduate-recruits-earn-figures-age If you're looking to make money straight after college and don't give a fuck if your job sucks, then there are definitely opportunities out there.
