Review The Last Thing You Watched
DozyGamer replied to Psy's topic in Graphics, Media & Entertainment
I watched now you see me a couple of days ago, it was alright I guess. I also started watching the new season of Arrested Development and I don't understand why that show ever got cancelled. It's a bit confusing to keep up though, since they're showing how the past couple of years have been for the different characters. I recently got to watch Tobias's last couple of years and his ANUSTART! He's probably my favorite character in the show. -
Appreciate the offer Cheezy, I'm only going to be in town until tomorrow then hitting the road to NY. Another time perhaps.

I love Boston! I went to Uni there and fell in love with the city. Though I gotta say I'd prefer a sequel to Bully set in a University in a psuedo-Boston. They could even include Bullworth as a town outside the city. It's actually cool to read so many of you would like to see a GTA set in Boston today since I arrived in Boston earlier today to attend my brother's graduation! I've been getting all nostalgic going all around town.

I wonder if we'll be able to listen to the radio in the sub. I think Floppy has two people posting from his profile, or he's just a troll. His English is sometimes good, and other times it is firstably argue. @BlackSox what happened to Snake Plissken? -
Yeah I downloaded blood dragon a couple of days ago and it's pretty funny. Though to be honest I found it really hard to see much and it kind of made me want to play FC3 again.

After AC3, I had lost interest since I was hoping Desmond would finally get his own game. Though this trailer just hyped me up again. If you really don't feel like paying for the game Massacre, remember that "nothing is true, everything is permitted" including shoplifting! I wasn't aware about that whole peta mess from a couple of months ago, and I must say Peta is a cult. They keep saying GO VEGAN! Like Epsilonists say Kifflom. They're only riding the publicity Ubisoft will be creating with marketing the game. If they did care, they would go after those awful (as in gameplay wise) hunting games Cabela's shits out every other year. I'm sorry to bring up something from a couple of months back but peta really pisses me off.

I think Niko's plane ticket was just hinting at the setting of the next GTA more than anything else. The consequences of the last decisions in IV were too drastic for him. Packie though... I think it's plausible because there was no explanation to why they would show him leaving LC at the end of TBoGT. He does tell Niko that he always wanted to see Ireland though, but why show him leaving at the end of TBoGT and not IV. I'd still just rather have the GTA version of Fallout though.

Imagine an alternate reality, where our protagonists have never met, and have survived some kind of apocalyptic event and human civilization has been destroyed. Los Santos and the surrounding countryside have become a horrible (awesome) dystopia where insane gangs kill each other for basic necessities. Trevor is a lonesome renegade living in the wilderness killing any trespassers and fighting off rogue gangs that try to take his territory. Michael becomes the leader of a seemingly utopian society that have plenty of resources and living in a secured gated community in the suburbs of Los Santos. Franklin is in south LS with Lamar and the Grove Street boys fighting gangs for resources, using heavy grade weapons that used to belong to the cops. The trio needs to come together as a powerful force encroaching towards the West destroying everything in it's path. This force is essentially the remnants of the US military run by a right wing lunatic who plan to wipe out all the people living in the Western Wastelands and rebuild their xenophobic version of America (think the Enclave and the worst parts of the Brotherhood from the Fallout series lead by Father Comstock from Bioshock Infinite). They have superior military power and Michael needs to share his resources with the Franklin and his gang to stand a chance. Trevor helps them get to some kind of super weapon in the military base, then destroy the Enclave enemies from the East. Imagine the pop-culture references Rockstar good make! From Mad Max to Escape from LA, in addition the games mentioned above. It may not even be that far-fetched considering how Rockstar flipped the dramatic and realistic RDR world into a whacky post-apocalyptic zombie Western. So basically yes, I want a Rockstar Fallout game. Whoops, sorry I did a search for DLC I guess this topic existed.

Is that Jimmy Hopkins in the first screen? -
@Cheez It, Sorry man but I'm pretty sure they're meant to be working for the FIB, in snatching the dude from the IAA. They did mention in some of the previews that came out at the end of last year that the FIB building was across from the IAA building which would explain the screenshot below and the confusion it may have caused. but you'll notice from a different angle, that the IAA building is just behind it. I've already quoted the Gi article where they state that they were snatching the guy from the IAA above but here's a quote from the guardian's preview: @Tanner most of what was covered in the article is pretty well known and documented. The GI article was just more detailed than many of the others that came out end of last year.
-
Good eye Tanner. When Game Informer had that huge preview last December, they talked about that mission where Michael repels down the IAA building to kidnap some dude called Brad. This may have been mentioned earlier or on another post, but I've been thorough and I haven't seen anybody mention this: The mission preview alone is so long that I'm not going to type it into quotes, and I can't find the article anywhere online so I'll explain what seems to be interesting about this Brad guy. Brad is being held by the IAA, which according to the article is GTA's equivalent of the CIA. He's being interrogated by a woman who's threatening to sodomize him with an 18-inch flashlight, then proceeds to smash his fingers with it. All the while, Brad is insisting that he merely "installs camera equipment, not surveillance!" When we look at Michael's trailer again we see this: The logo marked in red makes it look like the logo of US federal agency, the psycho interrogator lady is marked in green, and you can see a flashlight on the table marked in blue. After seeing Brad being further tortured by Trevor, I can't help but wonder what this poor bastard's done (or seen).

This article suggests the University reported it. I didn't care much for the writer either, although I did agree with a lot of what he was saying, his sarcastic opinionated tone just really made me want to prove him wrong and wipe that smug look off his face (I'd imagine). Don't know if you guys got that stupid catch the cockroach FOR A FREE IPAD 2 ad (isn't the ipad 2 pretty old by now) that also made the article really hard to read and certainly made me all jittery. Lanker-Simon never said she was raped, just created a fake facebook post to suggest that she's attractive and her political opponents are misogynist idiots. It's like a nerd creating a fake online profile of a girl who's madly in love with him and he's the best D&D game master ever. She's a pathetic loser, yes. An attention whore, absolutely (she even asked that the post not be taken down). A rape victim pretender? Not really just a shallow, lonely fool that created a huge mess just because she wanted to get some sympathy. At least she didn't destroy anyone else's life. As for pretending to be a rape victim goes, well that's just awful. Not just for the accused rapist, but actual rape victims as well. The last thing a rape victim needs, is for there to be any doubt that she's been raped. If feminists can't sympathize with men falsely accused of being rapists, then they can at least understand this.

I'm hoping for some kind of underwater harpoon fishing. Underwater exploration sounds so exciting, but without being able to defend ourselves from sharks would make it a pain in the ass.

Thanks Beatnik and gtagrl, I'll definitely check those books out. I'll order them now and hopefully be done with the book I'm reading now.

I really liked the assassination in IV too, and I'm hoping they would come back with some of the planning stuff we can do for the heist missions. It would be like an open world Hitman game!!!- 152 replies

Whats your favourite quote from previous gta's?
DozyGamer replied to JC10's topic in Other GTA Games
- Max Payne. Okay so it's not a GTA quote but at least it's still Rockstar related. -
I never really got into English literature outside of required reading for school, until recently. I read a couple of novels here and there that used to belong to my sister, until she got married and moved away. I got into a phase a couple of years ago, where I was obsessed with Medieval Arabic poetry, which isn't as obscure as it sounds. It's far superior than the crap that is Arabic poetry today, despite the fact that I do find it hilariously entertaining. I like reading the idiotic ramblings of vain aristocrats, judging and laughing at them, I guess it's why I never had the balls to write any poetry myself. I did however start writing short stories in my spare time about whacky and strange super heroes; A machete wielding Shawarma-man, that prepares delicious shawarmas by day, and slaughters dragons by night. Also a female ninja jeweler assassin that hunts immortal aliens that arrived on Earth during WWII and disguised themselves as Nazis that continue to terrify the world long after their humanly flesh disguises have begun to rot (a justification for combining zombies, nazis, and aliens in one evil menace), our heroin is part of a sacred order sworn to protect humanity using an arsenal of tools and weapons disguised as jewelry. I wrote these in English to improve my language skills, and if I do ever publish these, I want to get mass appeal. Because English is my second language, I think the stories are not that good. An American friend from college has been suggesting books for me to pick up to help tell better stories and I just started reading A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, which is absolutely hilarious. It's not very helpful in writing about zombies and stuff but it's still a great read. Ignatius J. Reilly must be one of the oldest socially awkward slackers in modern pop-culture, he reminded me of a more moronic George Costanza. Any suggestion from you guys for getting started in fiction and fantasy would be most welcome.

I actually used to go to this club and one of the owners would intervene if he caught people smoking or doing rails. I don't think it's too far-fetched. Besides, lots of owners work for their businesses, especially when they're trying to get the place up and running. Maybe you get to do it a number of times before you start turning a larger profit, then you could choose to work there or not. Kind of like the side-missions in SA.
-
Hmph. I almost started a topic (again) to find that someone had created it already. Now that we know that we will be able to purchase businesses, I think it would be safe to assume we will be able to work jobs to get these businesses started (think SA and VC). From the previews I've read so far, the businesses mentioned are taxi depot, night-club, and Marina. I guess we'll be picking up and dropping off fares should we but the taxi depot, do night-club security similar go TBOGT, as for the Marina.... Maybe something involving underwater exploration? Or boat races? What do you guys think?
