  1. You don't necessarily need to become Thane to purchase property, but you do usually have to help the people of said city. Then again you can give gold to a beggar three times and it will count as helping three people.
  2. Horses are pretty much pointless, especially when they decide to help you out in a fight and get slaughtered. You can't beat travelling on foot from location to location, it really doesn't take that long. Markarth to Whiterun to Windhelm to Riften is a nice little jaunt unless you get sidetracked on the way - which you inevitably will.
  3. I didn't think anybody would actually bother to read and interpret what I wrote. Who would do a thing like that?
  4. Skyrim expansion packs and the Sims are keeping me occupied in between OU assignments.
  5. That's why I went for Lakeview first. With my garden and greenhouse I have now cornered the market in paralysis poisons thoughout Skyrim.

    Classic Titles

My earliest memories of gaming are playing Fire Ant and Paperboy on my sister's Commodore 64.
  7. Oh, I was planning on getting that one next where my wife and children could live. Luckily i'm level 21 at the moment so as soon as I hit 22 i'll go for it.
  8. Which one? I bought Lakeview Manor at about level 5 after doing a job for the jarl of Falkreath. Oh and also i've just found out that if you sell firewood to a mill owner who you haven't previously helped they will then let you cut lumber yourself, just tried it at Half-Moon Mill.
  9. Chaurus. Yeah they are quite lethal at level 6 i'd imagine. Another thing, don't waste your money buying skill upgrades unless you can get that person as a follower and then reclaim your money, such as with Faendal in Riverwood.
  10. Well maybe they do appear before level 10 then, I always thought that was the case though. But it seems that you only have to complete Dragon Rising then. Just save regularly and clear out dungeons to level up quickly. Watch out for which caves you explore though, some contain Falmer and they will be quite difficult at low levels. Well as I said save regularly, I keep two save files per character, that way I can jump back to a previous save if my last one puts me in imminent danger... or it gets corrupted. If you happen to spend a lot of time around the plains of Whiterun, sneak around near deer and it will level up your sneak skill, hunt them for hides and antlers. Also collect every blue butterfly and blue mountain flower you see, combined they make a valuable potion and will level up your alchemy skill quickly. Apart from that the way forward is combat, the more fighting you do the quicker you level up.
  11. Yes it is, but if you use a fortify enchanting potion it can wear off while you are typing the new name resulting in the stronger enchantment not being applied, only the base one.
  12. Dragons only appear at level 10 and after completing the Dragon Rising quest. You should invest perks in the areas you use most, which will obvioulsly be the ones to level up the fastest. At low levels even the base dragons can be a challenge, if you are using spells the best option is shock-based as dragons have a resistance to both fire and frost. (The ones that use fire breath have a 50% resistance to fire, and the ones that use frost have a 50% resistance to frost... go figure, but they also have a 25% resistance to the opposite spell.) Also if you haven't got a follower it might be wise to get one, they can distract a dragon and soak up a lot of their damage for you. I started a Nord character again, he's living in Lakeview Manor where he has a large plantation of canis root and swamp fungal pods for making paralysis poisons.
  13. I touched AC MP once in Brotherhood or Revelations and never looked at it again.
  14. It is laughable that the AC 3 calendar that my mum bought me will still be up when AC 4 is released.
  15. How's that going to work? We just get thrown straight into the past storyline without any context as to what we're doing there? Also, if there's no Desmond then who is reliving these memories? Or are they just doing away with the animus and setting the game entirely in the 18th century? Also, I am assuming the protag is British. That won't bode well because as far as the rest of the world is concerned Britain isn't cool.
  16. No there isn't, Karthwasten is north of Markarth on the way to Solitude so I don't think you can count that.
  17. he's admiring the iron sword with a frost enchantment... in the second one i was passing gas... ivarstead will be a toxic wasteland for a few days until a wind from markarth pushes it to whiterun... Sorry to sound like a nerd but Ivarstead is south-east of Whiterun, therefore a wind coming to Ivarstead from Markarth would have to pass Whiterun.
  18. It seems Ubisoft listened to the fans with the naval combat, that was the best thing about ACIII. However the game itself was a little lacklustre and consequently I can't get hyped for any news about AC IV, which is a shame because i'd like to be.
  19. Can't beat the classic face. I can't tell if the bOnEs dragon is saying "COME ON THEN!!" or is just amazed by the fact it can fly.
  20. Mine ore veins, again I only did this in my first playthrough. Afterwards I couldn't be bothered and just bought ingots from blacksmiths. The pickaxe does come in handy for Hearthfire though. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl, about the dragon
  21. Only certain shops will buy certain goods until you unlock the merchant perk in the speech tree. General shops such as Belethor's in Whiterun should accept gems and dragon bones (best to get rid of those as they are bloody heavy.) Clizick hurr fo' mo' info fo' sho' mah big-nippled negro. http://elderscrolls....ts_%28Skyrim%29
  22. Early on in game chopping wood is a good source of income, that and hunting deer on the plains of Whiterun then using their pelts to create armour. If you start exploring dungeons you'll soon be picking up plenty of loot to sell and won't need to worry about wood chopping, just make sure you go with plenty of carrying capacity available. It's knowing what to pick up; when I first played I was picking up cabbages, wine, goblets, plates and other shite... just because I could pick them up. By the time I get to level 40 i've got far too much gold anyway and don't bother picking up a lot of valuable stuff. I tend to not bother searching every urn for a few more flawless gems, I'll search the chests though as they often contain leveled enchanted gear.
