wow, the new patch is definitely much more stable... i haven't notice any lag during my hour session thus far... level 38, 180 hours in, and checking out the companion stuff... welcome back cadman, skyrim has been expecting you ...
-
@mass - i like the idea of massive expansion packs... i wouldn't mind spending $20 for 40 more hours of fun to be honest... hell, maybe $30... i hope bethesda isn't trolling this topic... in that case, i'd prefer them be free... apparently there was a new update for PS3 players a week ago... i am eager to install it and see if it improves my issue with the game... i can put up with the occasional glitch and lol moment, but i cannot tolerate the lag at all...

yea, i played assassins creed revelations for a couple of weeks because i needed a break from skyrim... i was literally putting 6 hours into it every night... but now that i am ready to head back to tamriel, i am sure i will be back on that schedule once again ... i too still have hours upon countless hours of stuff left to do... finding all the shouts, daedric artifacts, dragon masks, doing the guild quests, civil war quests, and exploring 2 cities that i have yet to visit... it's shocking that i still haven't been to a couple of reaches... i bet there's countless hours of stuff in those towns to do too...
-
damn, that's my most active time here... that's when i am usually drunk and stoned, looking for shit to bullshit about, lol...
-
i haven't played in 2 weeks so i don't remember where i left off... i am pretty sure i will be firing this back up this weekend though... it's time to head back to skyrim, there's a civil war to settle in my world...
-
hell yea, i always thought the same thing, dup... one day he's gonna get his die hard role and really get all the big action roles there after... so far, transporter is probably his biggest grossing franchise... although, i think crank would be the better one ... by the way, i wonder if they're working on a 3rd one yet...

thomas jefferson was a free mason, he'd fit into the story perfectly... but are americans ready for the controversial take on their own history?? lol, i bet the government says, IDK... i would imagine that most of the old stories ubisoft tapped into with the previous games aren't too far from the truth... it is afterall, based on historical facts... i do like to occasionally read those "database entries" when passing people or locations... AC: the fall?? what is that, a comic??

i just got a free copy of far cry 2 from the playstation network... it was free for + users, so i got that to mess around with here and there this year... i too enjoyed burning the fuck out of locations... when i entered locations, i threw a few molotov's around to get things started... yea, the AI was a bit much at times and they did tend to re-spawn a hell of a lot... but i kind of looked passed that because the world was just so damn inviting... http://www.g4tv.com/...k-28-fbfantrack the link above is a nice in-depth preview of what ubisoft wanted to show G4TV... it's not a whole lot, but from what i read, i think the series is taking a step in the right direction this time... like i said earlier, ubisoft is pretty good at re-inventing a good thing with their 2nd entries in a series... remember, the 1st far cry was crytek's baby... ubisoft handled far cry 2... EDIT: here's some in-game screenshots... i gotta say, it's looking pretty damn good... http://www.vg247.com/2012/02/16/far-cry-3-screenshots-show-explosions-crazy-locals/

i saw it too... i don't really care about the piss ass story it was trying to tell either... FC2 wasn't much of one as well, all i cared about was seeing the magnificent views and having that sense of character realism that not many games provide... but instead it is like you said, a cenematic-filled trailer with no actual in game footage... i am sorry but far cry always was always about the world around me and my own characters problems, not the story... i kind of hope there's an attention to wildlife this time, instead of ambient sounds... who wouldn't want to be mauled by a tiger while fighting through a hord of drug dealers?! or watching that tiger all of a sudden take out 2 to 3 guards, and draw the attention away from you... i really do hope they implement an autosave this time too... it's the only knock i have on far cry 2, i was forced to relive numerous hours...

i can dig it...

i get the vibe that they've got a lot of potential left in the series... they have a unique tagline, playing as an assassin, shaping the history of the world... sure hitman and sam fisher are assassins, but ubisoft has a rich rich history still left untapped... i am pretty sure this won't be the end of the series, i think they think they have something special here... perhaps they stop the annual release, but you don't spend 3 years on a newer concept to the series, only to never do another one... at the pace they've been poppin them out, i find it very interesting that they've been working on 3 for 3 years... i think they're probably refining their engine and about to roll out new games... just because it's the end of the desmond story, doesn't mean it's the end of the abstergo story... sure the world ends in 2012, but it's not hard to go back into the past... this series is all about time travel... they might be trying to prevent the end of the world...

save that for more in the future, perhaps after the revolutionary stuff... what century is AC:R based in?? i wanna 16th century... perhaps there could even be a 17th century piracy chain of games, based around captain morgan and kidd... morgan was a diplomat who discovered gold in south america... then the american revolution for the 18th century, but there's a gap with the 19th century... not sure where to go with that, but definately the 20th century should have something to do with the world wars... i want a WWI game one day... no one ever touches that genre...
-
i'll take west virginia too... or philly... i am just glad that assassins creed II is finally getting it's sequel, and anything other than the middle east would be a warm welcome from the fans of the series... enough of the sandy, dusty locales in the middle east... time for something new and refreshing...
-
i think it's proper if they shift the series to america... at the end of AC:R; ... but being in america also ties in the templar story with the free mason's, which we all know has a connection in itself... i think an american revolutionary timepiece would be quite refreshing because no one has done that era in video games... it's not like guns were the main choice of weapon in that time period either... bayonettes and swords were still the weapon of choice because muskets were unreliable, slow and innacurate... running across the rooftops of new york would be amazing in my opinion... it looks just like the city in any of the games... plus; ...there were cool gangs like this... and you could add weather patterns in the game like snow and rain... i am pretty much tired of the middle east locales in my opinion... i think the series need a change of scenery... EDIT: it is also called assassin's creed III, as in, a proper sequel to 2... they said they've been working on this game for 3 years, so you know they've been trying to create something new and different... this would make sense to me...

i take pedestrian comments personally too... when the bums tell me there are aliens amongst us, i kill everyone in sight, just in case one of them was the alien... they ain't getting none of my sperm!!
-
haha, that's awesome ...
-
my home internet test results are on page 2, i got a C score ... but i thought i'd try out my work connection today... where i work, i would be pissed if it were anything less than an A... we use the internet 99% of the time...
-
yea, i liked ryder, but i knew me and him were gonna have problems since all he ever did was bitch and complain any time CJ did something... it's fitting that he's the one to teach you how to rob houses though ... i hope they bring that back in the new GTA...
-
i could see it being beneficiary if it's used for menus or casting spells and shit like that, stuff that's not used 95% of the time like a control stick... being forced to use it for cheap gimmicky games will undoubtely kill off sony for good... look at how well the kinect and move are doing as competitors for the wii... yea, not as well as expected... core gamers are still not sold on cheap parlor tricks like motion tech and touch screens... it's the casual gamers that are dilutting the gaming industry and the only way to reach them is to roll out this shit... the gaming insustry has drastically changed since the wii and ipod touch came out, and core gamers are starting to get left behind because we don't want to use that tech..
-
sorry about that... i wasn't spoiling the story per say, just where i was at... i'll use spoiler tags, but i am done with the story now so i doubt i have much to talk about when it comes to that anymore... EDIT: yea, i might of said too much in my earlier post... i tend to forget about the spoiler tags when i am drunk ...

i don't mess with torrents, at all... i used to, but i got sick of downloading viruses and crashing my computer... you can stream just about any movie or song through the internet these days, there's no point in downloading anymore... i pay for programs and games though... call me old fashioned, but i like to support what i like... hollywood and the music industry?? they've screwed me over plenty of times, they hardly ever get my money anymore... -
the draugr deathlords kept the action intense for a bit, but yea it was pretty easy... and i just got the call tonight that i have half-off rentals again!! i just beat skyrim in the nick of time, now i gotta rent assassins creed revelations and maybe, just maybe, dante's inferno... but then it's right back to skyrim ... i could use this nice change up for a couple of weeks...

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!! holy shit, i whipped through the story missions!! i am about to trap a dragon to learn of alduin's destination... in two hours i manged to knock out at least 3 main quests, so i am on the final leg of the story... i am so glad i held off on the civil war till now... that was an intense temporary peace treaty i had to negotiate with the imperials and stormcloaks in order to have a chance at defeating the dragons... but i am sure that once the story is complete, it will be back to war as usual... i am still undecided on which side i want to pick in the civil war, i am still leaning towards the stormcloaks... time to see what i can knock out tonight... EDIT: WTF, i called for the dragon and he never showed up!! so i went back to my save file and the game crashed, and now my system is doing a restore because of the way it last got shut down... this is not good, i sure hope i am able to pass this mission or i am fucked... EDIT2: ok, apparently i wasn't holding the shout button down long enough... however, THE FUCKING SHOUT METER NEVER RESETS AND NOW I CAN'T DO ANOTHER SHOUT!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!!!!!!!! EDIT3: finally!! all it took was numerous restarts... fuck... -------------------- game over... the last act of the game went by really fast... good shit though, looking forward to many more hours spent on the civil war, and finding daedric artifacts, and dragon priests, and working on guild quests, and leveling up some more, and... yea... all i gotta say is;
-
yea, that's a shitty problem you got there HBH... if all ends fail, i guess you could try to import the euro version of GTAIV, which could fix the problem you're having, but you'd also have to re-purchase the game which never makes sense... i would of saved that money for PSN games, and bought the disc version of both games... it can't be that much these days... but i do hope that they at least make an effort to listen to you... and i feel you on the skyrim lag ... it's starting to fuck up my game...
-
you beat the game?? fuck, i just recovered the elder scroll, i got a ways to go yet...
