  1. so, this now makes me wonder... are there going to be a distinction between legal and illegal weapons in the game? so maybe at the ammunition you can only buy legal weapons ( no fully automatic, limit mag size... things like that although it may just be specific guns) and if you want to get something like a fully automatic assault rifle (which are illegal in the US for privet ownership) you need to go to an illegal dealer. this would fit with the "get military hardware" on the planning board for one of the heist. To me this indicates some weapons are harder to find then others and they may not always be at the ammunition.
  2. So Ill bring this over hear... maybe this has already been discussed, but two of the safe houses on the map are black while one is white. I am wondering why that would be. Two thought; ether the black ones are unavailable or the white is special somehow. I need to watch the video again I think.
  3. It is pretty small. IRL it can be easy to not know where a gun shot came from if it is any real distance away since gun shots tend to echo. So the cone may not be saying that people outside the cone cant hear it, just that they will be unable to track it back to you easily. of course being a video game they may make it small just for game play reasons. I mean if the cone covered half the city every time you fired it might make things a little difficult. I like the idea of it depending on the environment though. That is a lot of gun stores, and I would say that is a gun range there. I did just notice, and maybe this has already been discussed, but two of the safe houses on the map are black while one is white. what do you think that means? Could the black one be houses that are unavailable to you for some reason?
  4. who said anything about doing it for the vehicles Sorry I should have quoted him in my post.
  5. ah, you beat me to it. unfortunately this would make every house open to buying and they couldn't have you murdering all of LS just to buy all the houses. Of course we can, prostitutes are a GTA norm. Based on the last scene in the game play preview it seems like it may play a role. the guy had around 5 grand. You can do that with Trevor...i think That is pure speculation at this point, but I am hopeful based on what I have seen. What I think would be cool is if you're able to see all (or at least most) of the available expensive cars/weapons/properties etc. right from the start of the game. That way even early on, you'll have the sense of "Wow, I can't wait until I have enough money to buy that." It will just make it that much more important to carefully plan out the heists, because it will be that much sweeter when we successfully pull them off and are able to receive the benefits. In the game play preview they show that items are visible but locked when they are showing of the car customization and the cloths.
  6. Doing that for weapons is one thing, doing it for vehicles would be just silly for a game like this.
  7. They even said at the beginning that they were limited on what questions they could ask. R* probably told them what the subject was going to be.
  8. Yeah that would be nice to see. They have said it has greatly improved so it should be exciting.
  9. That could be fun, maybe if certain property's can be flipped.
  10. I think what they were asking was if you can mount weapons onto your car, that's a reasonable question I think. But you are correct, I would have asked about customizing property's.
  11. That building seems to be in a very awkward position. its almost like its about to fall off the mountain. Sometimes if you go go hiking you will run across empty concrete buildings like that. they were usually apart of some sub station or something like that. I am guessing that this is what that is, just an empty concrete building.
  12. It could also be meaningless and they just stuck it there to mess with us.
  13. Possible side activitys: go steal animals for the pet store. they need some dogs so you have to go to people back yards and try and capture their dogs to take back to the store to sell. another option: finding rare animals in the wild for the store. If there was going to be Tigers or anything like that it would have to be from a zoo or pet store. California does have Mountain Lions and Bobcats.
  14. When I saw this in the vid, I started stressing. I'm hoping it's cosmetic (like a little animation that plays when you switch to Franklin occasionally) rather than being a functional shop. As we learnt last month, the Australian Board of Classification has a real problem with drug-use (if it's interactive or rewards the player at all), and if we're huffing medicinal marijuana to increase health or stamina or anything REMOTELY like that, us Aussies are not going to get the game... There was only a handful of other things that I thought they may take issue with, and that was animal cruelty (but they seemed fine with RDR and Farcry 3), nudity/sexual content (again, they were fine with TLAD, TBOGT, Blood Dragon, Max Payne 3 ect.) and Trevor's gas can (but setting people on fire is in most sandbox games, even animals), so we SHOULD be okay as long as Trevor doesn't get a turbo boost from smoking a crack pipe or something... My goodness, does the Australian Government actually think they are accomplishing anything with these insane regulations? Since when has treating your population like a bunch of 5 year olds an effective way to run a country. In an interview with R* it was said that accuracy would fall under the shooting stat. No, I would guess that selecting that option would launch the multiplayer.
  15. Can't I just keep it like that... so pretty and shiny!
  16. seems like there are a bunch of mapping clues that can be taken from this preview. There were several great shots of the map and the streets. I wish I had the skill/attention span to put something together like you guys do.
  17. I don't think that's going to really be a problem. first, of all you can replay missions so I assume you can also get the rewards multiple times. second, there will probably be several flows of income by the end of the game. if you can buy business I am sure you can get an income from those after meeting some requirements. Finally, I do not think the prices I have seen are all that unrealistic. $350 for a designer jacket in CA is not that unrealistic.
  18. I noticed that some of the customization options were locked. I wonder if it is going to be the standard "you unlock new options as the game progresses" or if there is something specific you have to do to unlock things. maybe certain side missions or finding things in the map... just wild speculation.
  19. yeah but remember that the special ability is limited. I am guessing it will only last a few seconds and then take a while to recharge. it's not like you are going to be able to drive around town in sow motion all of the time. With the car impound I am wondering what will determine what cars will be at the impound and which will not. do you have to buy the car, do you have to save it in the garage at least once, is it only for cars that you have modded? Also, will it stay in the impound forever or will you lose it forever after a while. regardless I am very happy they are going with an impound over some sort of magic instant car respawner like in SR.
  20. I think you are right, I guess you could still exhaust all you your ammo so you would essentially have no guns.
  21. They look okay, not great but they get the job done. Trees and water always seem to be an issue in games. at least they got the water down.
