  1. Up to level 8 and am just hanging around Whiterun at the moment, trying to clear some tasks off the Miscellaneous list... Just found out about enchanting but still not sure about soul gems and collecting souls... I like the alchemy set up - testing the ingredients and "inventing" potions... Killed my first dragon, which was easier than I thought it would be... bought the house in Whiterun because my hoarding ways needed to have one... got accused of avoiding helping out with a fight against a giant but I didn't even know it was happening... I sneak like an obese, drunk cripple but it's still fun trying to snipe people with the bow. I have just returned to Whiterun to find Belethor lying dead in the street and the smallfolk moaning about vampires... might need to investigate... or I might just go mining
  2. Holy fuck!!! I have no idea what the hell I am doing and I love it!!! My only really big gripe is that there is so much loot I have to leave behind... I had to randomise my race because I would never have settled on one - ended up Breton, which seems to be working for me. The game play is so very Fallout so I thought no guns would be an issue but I tend to use my destruction magic as I would a gun anyway... I have just collected the Golden Dragonclaw - do I get the Dragonstone now (I am only level 3 or 4) or wait until I am stronger?? From what I gather, the Dragonstone means dragons and I am not ready for dragons...
  3. I got this for my birthday so I am about to start this up (sorry RDR) for the first time, carrying on a tradition of playing the best Bethesda games 6 years after they are relevant... Probably wouldn't have bothered if I didn't start reading fantasy type books (Mark Lawrence and GoT) but I am looking forward to getting into it... I spent over 200 hours on the Witcher 3 so I imagine I won't be alive to see the end of this game...
  4. I have just started this game up again in preparation for RDR2 and found some quite prophetic quotes regarding how Rockstar are doing things these days... Any hints or tips for the start of the game that anyone may remember off the top of their heads? I am fucking horrible at breaking horses, I broke more controllers than horses during that mission...
  5. Thought about it and decided not to bother... I am still working my way through Blood and Wine so I have enough Gwent to keep myself busy with in the meantime... The Witcher 3 is slowly moving up my all-time games list. I think I like it better than Fallout 4 although it still has some way to go before touching Fallout 3 or GTA:SA... The DLC packs were awesome...
  6. I had another crack at Far Cry 4 the other night... loaded it up, started the game and but had to take a shit as it did. Came back from having a shit and the game was over, credits playing and everything.
  7. Awesome book - a bit cliched in places (eg. Arya's story in GOT) but still a very good start to what I am sure will be another excellent trilogy from this author. I can't say he is the best fantasy writer out there but he is the only one I can read easily, other than George RR Martin. At the moment, I'm reading the authorised biography of Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool, A Perfect Circle and more. It's called A Perfect Union of Contrary Things. What an interesting guy and he is so much different than the stereotypical hard rock star... he is not really into drugs and alcohol and has a strong, independent character. Very good read if you know who he is....
  8. Maybe this is my chance to get at least one done... probably not...
  9. Perhaps but more war based ie. you are a soldier/spy and can choose campaigns to take part in
  10. I don't know which photo's turn me on the most - Firm's English breakfasts or gtagrl's baking...
  11. My son will get it so I will get to play it. I really hope it's as good as it looks because I have been hanging out for some old school warfare... Now for an open world, sandbox set in Europe during WW2
  12. I watched Twin Peaks when it was first out and thought it was eccentrically brilliant until they found out who killed Laura... lost interest after that and have absolutely no interest in a revival.
  13. Like I said above, this is taking forever... but I have changed my mind on Gwent... love it. Just made it to Skellige, haven't touched the DLCs yet either...
  14. The last couple of times I have got online, I get a message saying they are giving me money. I got $400k for just logging in last night - the last time I went online, I think I got $200k. Is this some sort of promotion or is it just because I haven't been online for ages and they are covering inflation?
  15. I am replaying this. Started a New Game + which keeps most of your gear and stats from your previous play through - I started at Level 36 and all the low level enemies are around 38-42. I've got both DLC's to play which I never did first time around. This is going to take me forever...
  16. Not happy with how the Game of Thrones thing ended up... the books will be lore so put them down before condensing the story to accommodate television... fuck that shit. Luckily...
  17. I didn't think I would get into GoT as much as I have. I should be able to finish the series right around the time 6th book is supposed to be released...
  18. Yep - I like 'em too... haven't converted mine yet though. The pics below were taken ages ago and are not great. I should really upgrade it....
  19. I agree with Massacre... I am looking backwards for my next gaming experiences - currently replaying GTAV, then moving on to another run of The Witcher 3 (first time playing through the DLC) and then try to get through RDR again before the 2nd one comes out. If I was to buy a "new" game, it would be Skyrim (still haven't played it) and that is what, 5 years old. I would like to try Watchdogs 2 but I am worried the controls might be a bit too complex for this old arcade gamer who was brought up on 3 buttons and a joystick... South Park: Fractured But Whole is the only game I can see myself buying this year so far... I would really like to see an open world, sandbox set in WWII, in a similar vein to the old Medal of Honour series...
  20. I just got my daughter the Fallout mash-up pack... she loves it - the music is the best part... she will be an Ink Spots fan soon. An incredible amount of detail in it that mainly focuses on FO4 but has references to every game in the series.
  21. I've started reading the books having seen none of the series (other than the meme-able shit)... they are all probably dead by now but I hope Arya and Daenerys become lesbian lovers and use Tyrion as a strategist to overthrow all those fuckers and rule like bosses... Other than those three, I also quite like Varys, the eunuch... I hope he stirs some shit up as the tale carries on. Partway through book 2...
  22. Reading Lev Grossman's (twin brother of Austin, mentioned above) The Magicians trilogy... very good fun... a cross between Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia written for adults... After that, I have been driven by desperation to try Game of Thrones... hopefully, it is as good as people say
