  1. Exactly what I had in mind! You'd still have the realism R* is going for in the last GTA's, but as a player you would have more "connection" to your vehicle. Because since I love my cars to be crisp while I drive them, I used to drag people out of their cars constantly, (because when you drive a certain car then the same model will suddenly pop up everywhere around you) just to keep a crisp car... And yes I've seen Ghost Protocol (once), and I liked the movie (yes Ive seen all MI movies), but I cant really remember the scene you refer to... (Maybe I smoke too much! LOL).
  2. I've been on this forum for a bit now and only lingered in the GTAV section. So I thought what the hell lets introduce myself properly. Here goes, Im from The Netherlands, Haarlem to be exact (a town very near to Amsterdam). I live together with my girlfriend, used to be a bigtime gamer, but slowed it down a bit (we all gotta grow up sometime!). I now mostly play R* games, since they are always worth the playing time. I love to listen to rap music, in particular Bone thugs -n- Harmony, allthough the last few years havent been good on em. Well thats about it, I must congratulate y'all on these forums, I enjoy them very much!
  3. Oh I definitly smoke some weed, come on people Im from Holland, we can buy it (semi)legal here!! I used to smoke all day long, but since Ive aged a bit, I only do it when Im free from work and have nothing significant to do that day. Here in The Netherlands I can legally buy up to 5 grams of weed (you could ofcourse walk out of the store ,their called coffeshops over here, walk back in and buy another 5 grams), but you can legally carry 5grams too. Now the coffeeshops sell the weed legally to people over 18 years old. But here comes the tricky part, a coffeshop can only have so much weed in stock, so this means they have to re-stock during the day (weird) if they do have more then theyre supposed to, they get a fine, plus its Illegal for the coffeshop owners to buy the weed. This is what you call a gray area. If you would legalize the growing of the weed, you'd have less criminals who make money over the illegal selling of the weed. We're half way there. I'm high as we speak even! And lovin it!
  4. Haha, well I dare not dream about such storage capacity in a GTA game!! But I sincerely hope they do up their game in the car storage department. I loved it how in SR your car would always be at your garage once you've saved. Because in GTA games I rarely actually used a rare car. I would always put them in a parking spot and never use them... (I would like it to be more personalized, as to wherever you left the car, regardless where, thats where he'll stay. Maybe even with an GPS indicator. Up to 10 saved vehicles. And on your mobile phone a towing service when you just blew/wrecked up your car or sumthing.) This way you'd get a better connection with your car. Before I get blown out of the water, I do realise that the game is called grand THEFT auto (and yes I still love to throw someone out of their vehicle, while pistolwhipping them), but it would add more personal feel to the gameplay for me. Just implement it so, that you can save a dozen vehicles, which you can retreave at your garage (loved the scarface system aswell, where you would call a subodinate and he would bring over the car you would want, and you had a compagnon/bodyguard aswell). Just some thoughts people. What would this be? Maybe a pic?
  5. Could you elaborate on how the gameplay would be different, to me a desert pretty much resembles another desert (maybe not physical, but gameplaywise)? I could imagine though that there will be different types of deployment of buildings and such. In a barren desert some ghost towns or mexican style hacienda's and ranches. And in the less barren areas some more agricultural stuff, such as dairyfarms of whatever. Damn sure hope so! /Wants to run bucknaked through the woods
  6. Lol, yeah it looks real funny, well put together imo! The way they walk it looks like they shitted their pants...
  7. YESS! I labsolutely love your suggestions and if we get half of them I'd be more then sattisfied!! As Brawk said, I would love to see some multi-storage use myself. I just now thought about the 3 car stack system you had in TBOGT, (was that mission "no.3"?), when you had to steal the car together with Brucie and his annoying midget brother. I could imagine you could have the same type of system, but then run it down in the ground. Then you go to a button and select which car you want. Love the ideas fellas! What about this one??
  8. Lol hell yeas!! either that or get a bulldozer from a guy thats choppin the forrest down, and go on a rampage through the dense rainforest... (maybe killin them fictional top gear guys in the progress, "where was that chainsaw that guy just dropped..."
  9. GTA IV's Liberty City was based on New York City not the amazon rainforest. Well, thats stating the obvious. I just meant, that with choosin a strictly city enviroment, many people missed some gameplay elements, which a bigger variety of landscape could offer. (What they were used to in GA SA, so even with the great leap in graphics and realism, that couldnt make up for the lack of action). Furthermore Im not quite sure GTA in a rainforest would work, since theres a shit load of trees with a scarce amount of people AND cars for that matter.
  10. Yeah hated that type of shit too! Wasnt it in GTA VC where you would get "citizen arrest" bonus or something of that fashion? Could be funny to reimplement that in the game, baseball bat across some fleeing guy's face, and you get fifty bucks and a big kiss ass from the copper, (maybe even ways to corrupt/bribe a cop, to so have some form of immunity in a particulair area, a short cutscene, where the copper gratefully thanks you, then you can choose:-accept thanks or bribe for $1500 to get immunity in Glen Park)
  11. Okay..... Of course they will simply HAVE to deliver on the countryside department. It was one of the biggest complaints gameplaywise about IV in my opinion. I'd also like to see some forest areas, maybe around the mountain area (ofcourse with some cabins and shit, lost hikers/chicks, the occasional fleeing fugetive, a random crashing airplane... (Yes farfetched, but still in the realm of reality) And the desert, two words: hell yes! Oh how I loved the airstrip in GTA SA, Ive spent a lot of time over there too. Does anyone remember the hole in the desert (pretty near a big rock formation), filled with bodybags and at the edge of the whole a raggedy, old pick up truck. (really sweet when you just crashed your nitro'd-out-race-car-with-dirt-track-tires into the whole, jumped out, car blew up, drove away smoothly in the truck, shit was str8 badass and happend accidentally!) Maybe they could even throw in some "Casino" type mission, where you have to dig a hole in the desert and dump the body.... (Theres a lot of holes here in this desert... quote "Casino") Problem solved!!
  12. oh shit, you know what i didnt even think of that Rockstar are intricate motherfuckers. I bet they had Luis and Johnny's storylines planned out before they even finished GTA IV. Me neither, very interesting though! (Reason enough to pop em in xbox once more!) I think people will always find something to bitch over, thats for sure!!! And allthough I am fiending for the new GTA game, at the same time I know the guys at R* wont let theirselfs be rushed by whatever. So Ill just keep patient and try to fill the gap, by positng here!! OT What about Kifflom guys? And Wtf are those teasers over at R* trying to tell us by posting this site?? I really have a sneaking suspision it could be something interesting, like a thread through the storyline type of thing. (You have all kinds of encounters with evil bastards on many levels, but everytime you "solve" an issue i.e. kill the bastard who's been bugging you, you see the invisible hand of the Epsilon believe behind it, like finding some form of hints pointing to them freaky bastards.)
  13. I actually do remember that, now that you mention it! ANd yes Tommy is tha bomb (there I said it!)!! What??!!
  14. As I said, if you want to experience that, go play Maia II. It's a good game, but it's got a sucky section in the middle where you're stuck in prison. It's no fun to play whatsoever. Yeah its a decent game, had high hopes for it but they released it to soon in my opinion, it felt unfinished storywise and gameplay wise. Did I have fun playin, oh hell yes, because Im a fan of the genre (maffia: movies, games, books). But you can hardly feel a connection with the protag, all because they touch on something storywise, then they completely abbandon the whole issue, a lot loose ends so to speak. But at the prison bit it came out the most sucky for sure! Absolutely nothing else to do, then walk a designated path, and you cant interact for shit, so for me the whole prison bid issue... well I'd have to go negative on that one. Sure one big break out could be sweet (going in with a chopper, to brake someone out, chopper gets shot down, you have to make youre getaway, maybe a bit like in TLAD, but ofcourse even better!), but something like doing hard time for crimes you commit, f*ck no! Not even a cutscene, I think it'd get boring real soon... Completely agree!
  15. Oh I just now spotted that you'd already written echo park there. Thanks, it just made me curious!
  16. I have the same feel when you mention RDR, stepping through the puddles of mud, in my dirty cowboy boots, yee-haaah! But anyway, one feature I also loved in RDR with regards to the enviroment, was the night sky. With al the stars out and shit. Really loved it. Walking through the desert, with a bright moon lighting my path, str8 loved it! I have to say I also love the idea of clothes getting dirty. I personally am a fan of clothes changing (call me a nerd, ftw!) and this would make it more realistic imo. they really nailed it htough in MP3, as a player you really felt the impact of the enviroment on your clothes. I even loved it when in real damp areas (rainforrest like), you could actually see the sweat on the back of his neck! I can understand that since its going to be a huge game, you cant have all these aspects (or else I will have to wield like 8 discs on my xbox!!), but I think the clothes thing is a very realistic option! Exactly what i was thinking. Ive seen RDR being played, and it is just a good looking game envoronmentally wise. If Rockstar makes it as detailed (or hopefully way more) as Max Payne 3, it is going to be the best selling game of this year, or maybe all time. It just comes down to the details now a days, i mean, look at all the craze over BF3 when it came out, and Before it there was GTA 4, and so many others that sold almost because of the attention to detail ( at the time, some things werent possible ). But i just hope they make it look even better than max payne 3 all around. Everything needs revamped and rejuvinated. I like the effect of the environment on the clothes. I personaly hope to see that in this game, but i dont think it will make or break it for me. Although it is a REALY good idea... You should really play RDR bro, well worth the time spent on it. I think its a real solid game and it really gives you well-rounded game experience. Loads of variety mission-wise. Pick it up! And the clothes vs. dirt/weather issue, it wouldt brake the game for me, but it could MAKE it for me! (I remember playin gta IV for the first time and just being excited, for the characters to slide sideways in a vehicle, while youre taking a turn in a car, never saw it before!!) I am not from the US myself, but I highly doubt we'll end up in blizzards and stuff. I could see heavy weather like rain and heavy winds influince the gameplay regarding to jets and propellor airplanes (But it should only be rare, because I think the overall weather type in California is pretty damn sunny!). I remember having some landing issues on the desert landing strip in GTA SA when I was landing a chopper in a designated marker, then with heavy winds it could prove a bit of a challenge from time to time. But I wanna see (ofcourse not too often) the desert sand storms (if there is any mentionable desert region in the game) and some healthy smog in the morning around downtown Los Santos. (This would be every mornig if im not mistaken)
  17. Well, you're very true there. It almost always was a form of a "bad" cop, even McReary, if you listen to all the comments his brothers make about him during car drives and such. But the bad cop always makes you hate the guy which facilitates in you as a player to justify killing him, but what I meant is, that if the cop's after you. For example when youre like three quarters in the game and the "good" cop is on to you because you have to do all the gnarly, typical, GTA stuff, then you get a chance to either kill the cop (maybe youre both on top of the mile-high construction platform and he's about to fall/slip off the ridge) leaving you free of his hunting, or you let him live and you get an even harder time after that. This would force you to take a moral stand of sorts. Anyway I'm just throwing it out there!
  18. Well I definitly am impressed by what you've constructed so far, but where would you fit the two new screenshots in your LS map??? I was just wondering. Also, I secretly still hope for there to be another big city besides LS, (not exactly as big as LS), But maybe a San Fierro or a Las Venturas, or both(thats reaching though, I know!). Oh well, we all got dreams dont we?
  19. ...w-w-w-what happens next???? Thats some grippin storytelling you got there buddy! And allthough the necrophillia suggestion, by Bundy, sounds tempting, I would settle for just the looting of the bodies. Like RDR, but also Assassins creed had that implemented, which is dope. I hope they extend the feature so as you can not only loot them for money and/or items, but also wear the looted items. Like when you see a dude with a gold chain and a gold rolex, you can shoot him point blank or lure him in an alley (slap him once and retreat in the alley!) and kill him quietly and then take his shit! And this would work with chains, watches, sunglasses (its Cali people!) and what not. Then you could also deliver it to pawnshops for cash. Just like the sell feature in RDR with the animal skins and shit. I would love little things like that, it would make me drive around to find the biggest dude, with the biggest chain an str8 wack his ass!!!
  20. I think youre on to something there, most main antagonists in previous GTA games, were such evil characters, that you always felt like the good guy (while killin and robbin!!), which is good I guess, but I like yur idea a lot! It could make for a lot more interesting moral issues during the storyline. You would almost dispise yourself for doing some of the stuff you have to do. (Think of Scarface, scene where Tony has to blow up the car and he then finds out that the wife and kid is in the car with the target, he then refuses to do it, and kills the guy with the detonation switch). As for me I like to somewhat get in character when Im playing a GTA game, (I.e. with TLAD I almost exclusivly listend to the hard rock radio channel, whereas I usely switch it str8 to the Hip-hop/rap channel, but that didnt feel right when riding my bike with my buddies in formation through LC!) @jobo, isnt it the usual recipe, that there are multiple "smaller" antagonists, but one main antagonist? Think of Dimitri in IV, Tenpenny in SA, Sonny Forelli in VC and ofcourse Catalina in III. Before you ever got to deal with them, you'd have to work your way through a range of different lower level antagonists.
  21. No doubt in my mind!! I am assuming the same, either the glock, the 92f or a gun very similar to the USP, but coming to think of it, the glock has been one of the most used guns on gta games, not only that, but law enforcement seems to use it as well, although it seems like the 92f is more of a preferred options for LAPD (lspd in this case) The glock has been used in GTA LCS and GTA4, how can it be most used? The most used is sure as hell the Sig p226/m1911, not sure witch one cuz the gun has 17 rounds. It has been in GTA3, GTA VC, GTA SA. Hate to be a smart ass, but a glock HAS 17 rounds. As for previous GTA games, since the graphics werent that sharp, they surely always had the look of a glock. Especially GTA3, GTA SA & GTA IV, I believe VC was more of a colt 1911 type pistol. I think the safe money is on a regular glock (shouldnt that be model 17 instead of 18?).
  22. I hear ya there buddy! Yeah I sincerely hope that this time around if Im in the back country (or even an alley in the city, dammit!!) and I kill a ped with a baseball bat/knife or a silenced gun, that there aint no stars appearing in my screen. Ofcourse when youre near a cop it should, but not when we accidentally have some collateral damage while cruising through the beautiful state of San Andreas!! Well I actually liked that system too, if you were quick and executed the witness you were off aswell. I remember chasin one witness down for a surprisingly long time. Felt really satisfying when I eventually got him though! And it also gave you the option to bribe if you didnt wanted to get your hands too dirty. It makes the whole star system more valid aswell, if you would only acquire (did I spell that wrong?) one or more stars as to either a cop saw you do things, or a ped who would (if you dont bribe or kill them) phone your committed crime through to the coppers.
  23. Oh shit yeah, I remember that one! It was huge drive aswell! Yeah thank goodness for the retry text message system they introduced in IV. Overall the driving parts have to be incorporated to give you the lay of the land as they say. And I even dont mind a long drive in a mission as long as the end result is satisfying, missionwise I mean. I can see a dumping of a body, for instance, where you have to drive way out in the boonies, and you get a cut scene where the body is dumped. You then get to get to free roam again, where you find yourself near a small town, where you can do side missions, Maybe for like a boss hogg kind of character. Where youll get into local politics (scare some people, beat someone up, burn a dumpster, etc) And there also to be some properties to be bought i.e. a mid-size house, a small bar and a gun store. Which generate some income and where you can re-stock for free.(Just letting my imagination take over!) As opposed to, as you finish your mission (and you have driven a large distance for it) and then to find yourself havin get all the way back to the city to continue your gameplay experience. Overall the variety will have to get greater since R* already announced a big variety in landscape (big city vs. rural country), thus the missions will simply HAVE to vary. In contradiction, in IV there only was the big city, so you'd get a lot more missions like: Drive here, kill him, drive there, steel this car. Blow up this factory with a bomb rigged truck. These are all mostly missions that you can realisticly find in the city.
  24. I really love the two new pics they gave us. It looks awesome, the detail in the chopper pic is awesome to, If you were in a chopper in IV you couldnt get that clear of a view for so far as it does in the new pic. I really like the other pic too, I think GTA Undertake could be right about it being the new glen park! Without overanalysing the pics for now, I just wanted to say that to me they look very promising!!!
