Funny. If you recruit veronica, and leave her at the lucky 38, you can keep her while having the BoS dead. But I killed house then the BoS, so I'm not sure if thats why. In my opinion, I'd keep them alive. Another place to find laser weapons if you kill the van graafs

lol, the metal helmet for women is retarded... it sounds like they're wearing a power armor helmet, yet the face isn't covered...

Ok 1: the total amount of money from the pre war money i got from the casino, the gold bars, and the extra sierra madre chips i had EQUALS 500,000 caps, i dont have that much.

(watch the video to see what I say below. This works because ive done it)

2........Elijah will come down behind the forcefield and breifly say a few words to you out side of dialog. run into the barrier and keep running against it to get in it when the explosives go off in the chamber, disabling the forcefield and knocking you forward through the force feild. Father Elijah is then launched the other way into the explosives you previously placed. killing him, completing that part of the quest. you then get up off your face and simply walk to the elevator and leave. you dont have to go through the suites as you already know. you end up in the villa and from there you leave the sierra madre with all the gold bars.

(Y) Yep this method still works Dooby, I just did it flawlessly.

A couple of the other methods have been patched. Mainly the method where you stealth boy forward,

to the left of the elevator (Elijah's right side) and enter before the force field activates.

I have max stealth, and even in the dark with a stealth boy activated, the shield goes up.

It was a good method a year or so ago before the patches removed the stealth boys from the vault,

and the security senses you. Don't know how it can sense you when it's turned off.

The guy's stealth tutorial is still a great way to get past all the traps and security though,

even though the end is patched. It looked like a great way to quickly escape.

In the end, the explosives method worked for me. I left mass junk in the safe near the

elevator door, and at a Villa garbage can. With all 37 gold bars, once I

regained the loot from the safe and garbage can, I left with 3,075/340 weight.

The explosives I used were 1 demolition charge, 5 frag mines, and 5 gas bombs.

In stealth, press up against the force field, and it worked first time.

This time I got all the Dead Man's Hand cards, as well as Dean's Stashes again.

It seemed a lot easier with skills maxed, and especially stealth.

Finally have all the snow globes back at the Lucky 38, and a great answer to an old question:

ED-E is not hostile after completion.

I don't know how people discover these weaknesses without insider info,

guess it must be trial and error knowing Fallout bugs with force fields.

Approximately how late I am to this thread.

I'm about 4 & 1/2 hours into fallout 3 and I've just gotten the scientists into the Monument. I've had a few bugs, but this is one of the best games I've ever played. Trying to go for an "evil bastard" run at the moment. Mainly inspired after the people at Megaton pissed me off. I found tranquility lane to be a little weird but pretty funny, especially when you disembody everybody, I thought the little girl and the dog were the last target but ended up getting equinox'd after I slashed the little girl.

I finished the main quest. Final time was roughly 8 & 1/2 hours. I saved so I could go through all the endings but my favourite is definately the one where you insert the virus. Not sure how I managed it but I also managed to finish the entire game without getting a dog (which I presume is from a side quest) and never undertook the G.O.A.T (It never prompted me, I sat down at my desk and it never gave me anything to fill in). Definately will be going back to finish all the quests on my evil run, and then probably a good run.

wow, whipped right through the main quest i see... no time to savior it, straight to business :D... yea, i would of hoped that you got the game of the year edition, as it's now probably the same price as the one without the DLC... then you could of done all the side quests after beating it...

Didn't you buy the DLC with it? Broken Steel should've kicked in right after you finished the main quest.

As for Dogmeat, you find him at the junkyard, no quest involved.

Like a clown I bought the wrong fucking edition. The DLC is still only £1.99 though so I'll probably buy it a bit later. It was weird, I genuinely couldn't stop playing as I was enthralled, glad I bought it. Probably going to buy the DLC now.

Now you see why the Fallout topic has the third highest number of replies on a Grand Theft Auto site. It was first until the noob posts made the "What are you looking for in GTA V?" topic first, and second until today when the Skyrim topic took its place.

Im gonna seem like a total clown right now but I have no idea how to get broken steel to begin. I bought it from Steam, installed it and began the game, I load my spot right before the end, pick my ending and when the ending cutscene finishes and the narrator stops it begins the credits and if I click goes back to the main menu. If I click "downloads" it brings up the games for windows marketplace :/

Heres how to fix it. Open F3 through the fallout launcher and click data files, all the DLC was there but unticked, tick them, start the game and everything should be kosher.

How is skyrim btw? Was looking at giving it a go, Fable 3 is next on my list though. (and then probably Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion heh.)

Don't get your hopes up for Fable III, it's nowhere near as good as II. Skyrim is an all-around masterpiece. Aside from the glitches (which I haven't run into), there's nothing about Skyrim that I don't love.

I bought the disc versions of the DLC as they were released, but I had to download Mothership Zeta, and had the same problem you're having. Sign into Games For Windows Live from the main menu, if you haven't already. I think that's all I had to do to get it to run.

I bought the game of the year edition and spent so much time in the game doing other stuff I ended up not even playing some of the DLCs! I think I still have Mothership Zeta and Point Lookout to complete. I wonder if I will ever get back to them... (i'm not even sure if I completed Broken Steel lol)

@cy - i would suggest fallout new vegas if your having a lot of fun playing 3... but i would wait until the GOTY edition comes out in a couple months...

and skyrim so far is great, it's 100 times better than oblivion because i think they finally got the RPG aspects right... i no longer have to jump for two hours just to level up athletics... i can just play...

people dog operation: anchorage (not here i don't think) but i thought it was a fun war simluator... it is afterall, a SIMULATOR... people said it felt disconnected from the capitol wasteland... well duh... didn't tranquility lane feel the same?? both are simulations... you'll love the pitt and point lookout though, those are the best of the best fallout 3 DLC...

The Pitt was weird, I was wondering from the start why me and Wernher didn't just go loud. I was decked out in the armour from O:A and had a shit tonne of enclave weapons that rape pussy ass Slavers and Raiders (the pitt is full of them) and you're told they'll be a way to sneak the cure out, you end up going loud anyway basically defeating the point of assimilating. I didn't end up her Ashur's armour (let him go not knowing that it was then and there you either had to betray Wernher or take the baby). Hope its not better than the stuff from A:O.

tbh the pitt seemed pretty easy, not sure if I'm a total tank, or it just was easy. Still fun nontheless.

Ashur's armor is garbage (most power armor is), it just looks cool. The Chinese Stealth Suit will carry you through the entire game, if you're the stealthy type. I was pretty much the almighty god of stealth back in the Fallout 3 days - which continued into Skyrim, but not New Vegas - so if you're going the stealth route, I've got tons of advice.

new vegas focuses more on CQC, which i love... you can still be the sniper, but you'll do more damage in the trenches...

and yea, i actually think the pitt is easier than operation anchorage... i can complete the pitt on a lower level, yet i need to gain some levels if i want to try anchorage because of the super mutant overlords that spawn after installation... those fuckers are not for low leveled players... but the pitt is super easy, i just thought you'd like the atmosphere... i do love that town, it's got that mad max feel to it...

mothership zeta and point lookout are much much harder than the pitt and anchorage... but you probably are a tank by now, but even those add-ons make it difficult at times... it's been so long since i played fallout 3... let us know when you make the jump to new vegas :D...

I'm half way through my first hardcore mode game in New Vegas.

Seems like being a tank doesn't matter much.

Micro-management on a massive scale.

EDIT: Completed hardcore mode with the achievement.

Seems if you really just want that achievement, it's

easy to forget all side missions and just push through and

go for it. Shortest FNV game of all time. I completed

and moved on to a new game and character and looking forward

to going through the DLC's again.
