  1. something to the extend of sleeping dogs would be good. if it's within reach, standing still or jumping, one should be able to grab and climb it; fences, walls, cars, ladders... I wouldn't mind to be able to jump, hold onto a fire ladder and then climb it up to the roof... but that's about it. no need to scale buildings like in assassins creed, onlya little more freedom of movement, just like they improved on the ladder thing from san andreas to 4
  2. not quite right. according to their investor reports, T2's fiscal years are ahead, not behind real calender. I can't find the interim reports atm but I find the annual reports, and the report for fiscal 2012 was already relased in may. so we are now in T2's fiscal 2013 which ends March 31 2013.
  3. why is so many so obsessed with 2 or more large cities? I'd rather have one larger, great city with a large, great countryside than a couple not-so-large, ok cities with a not-so-large, ok countryside...
  4. but you do watch tv sometimes, eh? your common beat wont have that on his handgun, but the elite forces (swat, fbi, bla) will certainly have this on their sniper rifles
  5. a little more realistic behavior of the traffic wouldn't hurt. I like how this improved in IV, but it still freaked my out how, at a red light, cab drivers always go nuts and try to push you over after a few seconds... but still way better than in SA. and a more realistic damage model would be a blast. I said it in another thread already. different damage model for plastic and metal (must front/rear fenders are plastic nowadays), more parts that get ripped off (mirrors, hood, trunk, fenders, tires, doors, roofs, maybe even engines and axles) and a more realistic deformation of the car (after a while you can make a car look like a .zip folder) is what I would like to see.
  6. I remember that Strauss Zelnick from T2, in an interview around late january/early february 2012 placed GTA V into T2's "upcoming fiscal year" which means a period from march '12 to march '13, but can't find the source anymore. what I found tho is that in the Q1 2013 business report, released a few weeks ago, nothing hints to a fiscal 2013 release, so unless T2 cheats on their shareholders and financial partners, I guess there won't be a release until at least april '13, where fiscal 2014 starts. they still list GTA with a TBA release tho, between Bioshock infinite on feb 26th and an Xcom title with a fiscal 2014 release, I wonder why they even mention GTA at all then... probably part of the campaign
  7. what we had in san andreas + some degree of engine tuning incl exhaust (not just visual, also different sound), but for every vehicle (incl service vehicles and stuff). more than enough imho. EDIT: and definitely car bombs talk about a walking contridiction, everything you just listed for your "wishlist" is exactly what is in midnight club. except for the engine tuning, that's everything San Andreas offered, so I fail to see a "contridiction" here. MC only has a larger scale of these parts to offer...
  8. or the cops have several different cars in their garage. EDIT: I mean, LCPD does have at least 2 different patrol cars, so why not LSPD aswell?
  9. to me, the only similarities are that it's a military jet with a twin tail... ok, I'm a little biased here as I'm earning my money in aviation, but still these are obviously two different aircraft by design. of course they could've changed minds and remove the hydra to be replaced by this F16/F18 meshup, but I don't think they show both aircraft in such an explicit way to then remove one again. but then again, the hydra in the trailer was quite buggy (i completely fail to find the lefthand tailplane even when looking at it frame by frame) so ... yeah... idk... EDIT: but the maverick-thing you pointed out goes down the same river, it's 2 completely different A/C we're shown here...
  10. hm... yeah... missed that... nevermind, just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something bout V
  11. ok here's a comparison why I think it's 2 different planes: first, the wing: it's a mid-mounted wing in the screenshot with a very smooth transition line from the fuselage, in the trailer, it's a shoulder mounted wing with no smooth transition and second, the intake area is totall different. in the screenshot, it lies below the main fuselage, in the trailer, it lies left and right of it. also, the screenshot plane lacks all the jibjab on the flanks of the intakes. since I don't think R* changes the appearance of something that heavily, it looks like we'll get at least 2 fighter jets off topic: where does the left picture of the hydra come from? or is it from SA and for reference?
  12. dunno what else it could be as it seems to originate from some sort of ridge on the left and looks like its "floating" (as in nothing it stands/lies on)...
  13. nice find I was looking up the LA harbor to find a suitable building, never crossed my mind that it could be a crane
  14. 16 screenshots? did I miss some or do I get you wrong? There's the 10 from last week (bike, cheetah, jet, parachute, tennis dirtbike, truck, cropduster, infernus, spotlight) and 2 from a couple weeks back (helicopter, lake)...
  15. speaking of a bridge, I think there's one "between" the house on the cliff and the house with the greenish glass walls, partially covered from a tree (at that lampost above the tennis court)
  16. If there's a Mt Chiliad at all. I guess R* sticks to LA's geography as close as they kept NYC's geography in 4, which leaves us with more than enough mountains to explore (as seen already in the trailer and screenshots) representing Sta Monica Mtns, San Gabriel Mtns, Sta Ana Mtns, depending on the dimensions of the area covered
  17. actually, I don't wanna see any DLC. It's DLC overkill imho and - sadly - all too often low quality bullshit not even worth the $2 it costs, or even worse, they release halfassed unfinished games for a full price and then start to "patch" it to the intended content with costly DLC. no thanks. I bet my white skinny ass, if internets weren't that strong and additional content was distributed physically like the addons in the 90s, things would be different and publishers weren't on a DLC parade. ok enough ranting. anyways, since nowadays the question about DLC isn't "if" but "what", I hope R* sticks to the quality they presented us in GTA4 (luckily there's ppl like R* that take full advantage of the DLC idea, at least it's worth the bucks here). I wish they would do the same they did in MCLA, expanding the map with the DLC, but I think other parts of San Andreas - if any - are reserved for future GTA titles, so I guess something along the lines of the EFLC is more likely.
  18. I wonder what the railing-structure in front of the building is, assuming that these arches and the trusses treefitty mentioned are in fact parts of the LA Memorial Coliseum / LA Swimming Stadium... it does not look like it belongs to the building, yet it seems to be between the coliseum-like arches and the circular structure. My first take was it looks like a bridge thing and together with the coliseum I thought it might be an overpass like that of interstate 110 which would fit into the whole scenery (going west on W 39th St. towards the Coliseum) but then I realized the aformentioned.
  19. uhm ... no? R* didn't put a scale onto V's map yet, all they said is it's gonna be their biggest open world game, something they say about every open world game they release... EDIT: stupid typo corrected
  20. in the july 12th A&A, R* said they get us some more pictures and then a trailer, so I guess we'll get a trailer next... somewhere around christmas or so
  21. idk about the axle... on the one hand, R* always simulated suspensions like this, that the wheels move on a circular rather than up and down (which I never liked but meh) and the truck wheels do the same here, but then again, they're too bent if you'd ask me. maybe the axle's broken, what might be a nice turn towards realism (oh boy no more jumping off cliffs in a car and driving on) but might cost some fun and unique stunts. at first I was going to post that this looks like the sled of a gun, but now that I zoomed in, it's more likely to be the backwall of the driver cab and the edgy lines are from the armpiece of his shirt
  22. I got a life, thanks for the advice tho. Just cuz you can't stand that ppl do more than just jizz their pants looking at a picture and actually wanna put the shown something into context... jeez... get a life yourself He wasn't even talking to you. He has a point, TreeFitty is looking way too much into it. I was the last one to post how the hell should I know he's not talking to me when he uses profanity rather than quote the person he responds to? also, treefitty n me go down the same picture analysis lane, just that he's online more often. And no, he's not looking way too much into it from my point of view. I applaud his efforts to put down locations and give us an idea of the map right now already, something not possible without looking deep into the pics. Also, R* is known for those little details so there's always more to see than just dat awesum CJ man bastn dem AKs n shit... Oh well... enough off topic I guess
