  1. Yeah 72 is exactly what you see is what you get for screen based design. 600 pixel x 600 pixel image at 300DPI, will output at 2 inches square. It really depends on how he's printing it. With a home printer you will get away with 150dpi for that image size easily (if he's doing multiple pages). If its going to a professional printer and they are using a lytho it's going to need to be 300DPI, if its for a screenprinter you can go down around 100-150 aswell. It's best to make it 300dpi and then downsize it in the DTP software, as opposed to upsizing it and sacrificing image quality.
  2. This was shown in another topic, indeed it is a good fake. If this had been for GTA San Andreas I would have beleived it. Rockstar just puts sooo much more detail into their stuff now I can't beleive it.
  3. DPI is dots per inch, so the higher the Dots per inch number, the larger the image size. I would personally go with 72DPI for most print.
  4. It's nice to see a conversation of this that isn't "ZOMG Rock* cants have teh santolos and not the other citiez" I also think they are being cheeky by not saying directly "this game will not feature San Fierro or Las Venturas". Honestly I would love if rockstar just wanted to recreate that first feeling from the original San Andreas where everyone though Ah sweet its los angeles! Then the second trailer reveals the other two cities. However I don't think that it will be the case. It can still be a huge game without these two cities. If anything we will hopefully get a San Diego and another semi large cities aswell as small towns.
  5. With the rims, it does look like the car has Black rims with a chrome lip in the first instance and are just metallic silver in the second. Since this featured on cars in GTA IV it's more than likely it's the same story here. Cars in GTA IV often had different wheels, it's a good little variance, I hope this time we can actually choose them.
  6. Sorry, I should have said we are normally easy going. But your first post attacked us with no real basis for argument, then you came and said things we've said or things that speculated as much as we have been. It's just not the right way (IMO) to come into a forum with an attitude of "you are all idiots and shouldn't be talking". This is the way the forums are, if you don't like it I'm speaking only for myself and not for anyone else on the forum, but you can fuck right off. That being said, we are easy going and since that first post you seem to genuinly want to discuss gta, so lets forget the rest and do just that. And no, I don't remember you from GTA-Sanandreas.com sorry. There was a lot of people around then. Nope, it's Via Rodeo Drive. you may be right, are you saying that just because of the cobblestone or are there are details? I made this pic to show the similarities. You can see similarities in the architecture, palm trees, lamp posts and the fact they are robbing what looks like a jewellery store. To me it looks like the van is robbing the store with the blue awnings. (Anyone know what this shop is in real life?) It's amazing how similar (hard to see in the top pic but the white building far left has those same curved awnings, the lampposts have the flowers and even the bin is there. The only thing missing is the bollards to stop you driving through. Two different vehicles. Rear ends aren't the same. Also there's only one red car in the whole scene and it doesn't appear to be the same one we keep seeing at all. They are, we're talking about the jeeps right? the two back to back scenes from 52 to 53 have three jeeps, we see the backs of only two, they are the same except for a little black square (licence plate?) on the second one. To me it looks like the one with passengers is a pickup truck (ute) not a jeep.
  7. "part of a manual gearbox" - haha. I actually really enjoyed the getaway and wish they gave the ip to rockstar and guy ritchie.
  8. http://twitter.com/#...467977457729537 The question ^ I tried to find the exact question but couldn't. I'm such a tweetard.
  9. No offense guys but I'm a little disappointed at the lack of constructive feedback, if you don't have any value to add don't post like a troll.... Here's some thoughts: Once you've been contributing to the forums long enough to know who we are and how we think then try this again, until then you have no idea who you are talking to and what we have talked about in the past. A lot of us have been talking gta since before san andreas together. There is only one trailer and therefore only so much we can acertain from the trailer before we have to start having fun and messing around with ideas. Voice is of white male, middle aged, probably over 40. Most likely a playable character. Most likely not only playable character in game. There is no proof the voice is of a white male, middle aged. I agree he is probably around 40 years old and from the standard first trailer release of past GTA games is probably the protagonist. What evidence do you have that he is not the only playable character? opening scene: it's a definite YES to animals in the game. This could suggest possibly having an animal of your own, possibly using animals as weapons, possible customization of animal, possible animal shops, possibly the animal would need maintenance like feeding and walking. nothing is definite except for the fact that YES there are animals in the game. Deductively it probably also means there will be at least cats... at 0:10: we see some pretty complicated character interaction and animation. NPCs look at each other and react in a more complex way than in iv. both NPC groups are jogging and right female jogger jogs backward while looking at another npc. at 0:16 in the quick cut of the guy swinging there is a complicated map of the golf course with a red flag on it making me think that the course is most likely playable. The red flag looks like it is a separate art work that will have shifted in a different part of the course. Anyways, that sign makes me think its playable. 0:17: Derigible. Yes you can fly it. Yes you can crash into it. It probably explodes like crazy. Will be awesome to fly low over city. Probably a mission involving it flying over staples center. A play on the famous Goodyear blimp that always flies over Staples. ^All of this has been said (sorry if we don't constantly repost what we know we have already said.) 0:19: Guy on jet-ski is wearing a lifevest. I don't recall those existing before, perhaps the character puts it on when you get on the jet-ski, possible different interaction with water with it on. ^I didn't pick up on this, interesting. However possibly just on NPCs in the water and not available for our character, bouyancy would be nice with added lifejacket. Would be a nice effect. 0:20 scene with people posing for photo. 1, characters hold hands so at least it is certain that npcs have relationships with each other. THey have camping gear - possible continuation of what r introduced with Red Dead as in lots of things happening in wilderness, etc. People camping, mini missions and so forth. Most likely a little mini mission would be to snap a photo for some people... Meaning there is most likely a camera featured in the game. Camping gear indicated ;you might find people camping out in the woods. Expect the Woods to be very inhabited by people with many interesting things going on there, possible play on burning man, maybe big camps with trailers, most likely there are animals in these woods such as bears, etc... I see this seen as them climbing up to a plateau/lookout and looking over Los Santos. They arn't necesarily looking at a camera or posing. However since the mobile phones have cameras in IV it's safe to assume there will be camera's and missions that use them in V. 0:24: retractable roof. You can now open and close the roof of a convertible car. Also when the guy gases the car the woman reacts and stops to look at that character, did they do that in gta iv? I don't remember... Girl wears detailed jewelry, perhaps we can buy jewelry now... Car has front of a porsche, back of an aston martin/ bmw m series. Guy shifts in seat, perhaps because of pressing the button to make the roof drop, perhaps due to interaction with girl. Also this is all in game footage, I'm certain the black male is a playable character, one of or the only one in the game. What makes you think he's the character other than him being in the trailer more than once? Just curious? But this has all been mentioned. 0:28 due to camera angle most likely a cutscene. Note the huge cloud of dust the car kicks up. That's awesome! Guy talks about buying a big house. Another allude to property management. Also has something to do with the quest for money. Cutscene? Most of the trailer is constructed with film based camera angles, why is this one different? 0:30 people working out in totally different ways as opposed to guys working out on beach. possible we can do these types of workouts without use of machines, etc...yoga? sounds unlikely but is possible... also there is a telescope, voyeur fun! I can't say wether it's just a prop or can be used. Possible as a weapon? DJ equipment downstairs, possible dj mini game? also remains from a party are obvious on the lower floor, possibly something party like happening in private homes in the game. It's worth noting that people jogged in IV, and also did Tai Chi in central park. We couldn't though. 0:31 Highway 5 is a real highway in Cali and in LA. Highway numbers will be real then Rockstar likes to use elements of the real world they are emulating. And always have. Are you saying it will definately lead to San Diego because they chose that number? 0:33 Very complicated gym animations. We can most likely work out in a myriad of complex ways, possible we can fine tune our body much more precisely than in San Andreas. 0:37 scene obviously thrown in to show complicated hand gesture, symbolizing a discreet greeting. Makes sense as one guy is dressed much better than another. Perhaps doesn't want people to know they know each other. The guy in the sweater also walks to avoid the guy leaning on the building, could actually mean guy is trying to avoid him. hand gesture is a dismissal. Guy in white most likely dealing drugs. Narrator talks about kids - there is an obvious hint to family life within the game, maybe playing a big role, not unlikely that main playable character will have a family in the game. ALso we can see a blue car (bmw lookalike) pulling up to the curb. Looks like an animation from the beginning of cutscenes where your car pulls up to the location. Possible you have something to do with the dealer. 0:39 that mile high club building which we see several times obviously plays a big role in the game. IT does NOT exist in real life LA. So anything can happen to it. perhaps it goes through different stages of development? 0:41 I dont care what you say, that guy is NOT wearing an ear piece. Could be guy narrating. At least he is the only guy in trailer who fits the bill. 0:42 we see an agricultural plantation. That hasn't existed before in any rockstar game Do you remember all the weed plantations in San Andreas? and could be a big part of this one. With different crops of different formations, people working those crops, big machines working those crops, owners, side missions to work the crops, crop dust the crops? Speaking of which we can fly a crop duster this time that sprays a chemical which makes people sick. That can lead to a whole lot of things, eliminating people with a deadly chemical put in canister? spraying smoke on a road causing accidents? Workers are all working slightly differently on the crop, yes they are all wearing different clothing. Good detail work. Baskets for picking fruit or whatnot? Plane also kicks up dust and leaves from flying low. Also look at all those birds flying out of bushes around the plane. Also different reactions of coughing from all the workers. Obviously r has gone over everyones heads regarding people animations and variations on the same movements from different people. 0:46 we can now wear gas masks. Meaning there will be gas we can use from now on of different kinds. Leading me to think that will also be used in the crop dusters. Guy has a silenced rifle. Cool new silenced assault rifle! Same guy as in the previous scene as you can tell by grey strands of hair. Again, most likely one of playable characters. Also if that IS the narrator: obviously he hasn't gone far from his "profession" and is doing criminal ops again...Also the scene is most likely at the grove in Los Angeles, a real location. I don't know the rules of the forum for links so if you want to check it out just google the grove LA in google images. People carried in back of van leads me to several ideas. you can probably carry "homies" in your van, or whoever is your crew. It also probably shows itself in illegal immigration in the game. With possible missions dealing with people smuggling across border, or into parts of the city. 0:49 bmw look alike. Driver is same middle aged white man as in previous scenes. Camera is of in game footage. This is a second playable character in my opinion. 0:51 cranes make an apperance. And not the first time. Obviously a lot of the game will have to do with the port of LA. Obviously we'll be able to do those crane things like in San Andreas, very likely other things as well. Crates, automobiles, boats, so many things/mini games could be thought of there. We see birds sweeping low. Obviously we can kill them now as in rdr. 0:51 ghetto scene. Check out how people are sitting in that open top wrangler. It's also most likely a car with a customizable roof you can put up or down. Also some of the cars in the background look like top end vehicles. 0:53 you can see the same jeep in different variations. Covered and uncovered. People sitting in car but not on seats but on the sides of it. Also we see the same sport car as was in the scene before where the guy gassed the vehicle and made the girl turn around. They all have same rims as the car in the first scene making me think that rims might not be customizable. (Please don't let it be so Rockstar!) 0:54 look at how super detailed that postal truck is! You can even make out the writing on the tire! Also here's an awesome thing I found from doing a little research. The number on the foreclosure sign? 555-0101. When googled it leads to this bit of trivia: "This phone number has been used to transfer security details to a terrorist bomb maker in Casino Royale film." 0:57 that car looks like the audi rs8 convertible. Exactly. Are you guys noticing how many lux cars are in this trailer? I have a feeling there will be a lot more high end cars in this game than before. Also the car jumps up after going down a bridge onto a flat road. Interesting car reaction... ^^ All been mentioned. 0:58: building on left: westin bonaventure. That is an awesome building with a circular bike track suspended many stories in the air and a rotating lounge on the top floor. That's interesting, I didn't know about this, lets hope rockstar brings it from LA to LS 1:03 look at the plane trails in the sky. Definitely new. Check out the glow of moving car lights in the background. You can see even vehicles very very far away! Vapour trails have been in GTA before. 1:04 this is same car as in scenes before with guy lowering roof and following ghetto scene BUT it has different colored rims. The first scenes where black and these are white. 1:06 scene is from a cutscene. The black male might not be a playable character. All 3 policemen move differently! Black male moves similarly to policeman in middle. 1:10 plane starts making trail only after you hear the sound of the engines. Houzer says that the game will focus on pursuit of money? I believe it will features several npcs in different stages of life and financial stability and wealth. The older white male is probably one that starts of richer than other playable characters as he says he bought a big house and wants to start a family. Also I bet none of the characters or npcs move the same or make the same gestures. A much more complicated system that was introduced in LA Noire of motion detection. Didn't someone say that they will use whole body scans now? So potentially EVERYONE will move and act and their faces will move differently! Rockstar is using some of the developments used towards LA Noire, but the actually technology and the people that used it, are all gone. Team Bondi is gone. This technology (while used in a rockstar game, is not owned by rockstar) But some of the technologies based on better character movements etc. will be available if they want to use them. Correction on some previous statements, if you really listen to what the narrator is saying and see whats going on as he's saying it it becomes crystal clear the narrator is the man who we see from behind turning around, and he is the guy who is dressed in red with an assault rifle. "I thought I would be a good guy... but well, you know how it is..." at this point we see him with the gun near the van. Look mate, you've pointed out some interesting things, and you've pointed out ALOT that we all already knew and discussed. While I appreciate you trying to have a more in depth look at the trailer, you could have done that without being deliberately abrasive in your first post. I'm not quite sure who made you the boss of this topic (psy must have forgotten to tell us) but don't come in here acting all high and mighty, we are all fairly easy going guys, we like to discuss GTA, and have a muck around. But you come in here with an attitude like that and everyone is going to immediately assume you're a c*nt. And I don't blame them.
  10. I tweeted Clifton Collins Jr. saying "New GTA V trailer sounds exactly like you! How did you like working for Rockstar the first time around as Cesar in San Andreas? He ignored the part about him being in the trailer, but had nothing but praise for Rockstar, so with an attitude like that IF rockstar had asked him to work on it, I doubt he would have said no.
  11. After play red dead, and thinking the birds will probably feature roughly the same in GTA, I don't think they will be the collectible as they'll just be part of the world flying around and stuff. More likely they'll have something new to collect, Rockstar knows everyone hated having to shoot and gain wanted level for all the pidgeons. Also if they want 200 or more collectibles I would prefer if it was broken up like San Andreas, it just feels more rewarding getting 100/100 (even knowing theres another 200 other collectibles) rather than getting 100/300.
  12. I noticed someone tweeted this 'theory' to me earlier and I was ready to retweet it to my cult members when it suddenly dawned on me that it would be a better idea to add you to the Shit List. Yeah, I tweeted you... haha, I got twitter, and was really excited so I had to tweet something to someone. Speaking of tweeting, I tweeted Clifton Collins Jr about the trailer saying "New GTA V trailer voice sounds exactly like you, how did you like working for rockstar for San andreas as Cesar Vialpando." He completely ignored the mention of it being him in the trailer but said this With an attitude like that if rockstar had asked him to star in this most recent one, he wouldn't have said no. (Let the speculation begin!)
  13. Haha, just a mount chilliad sign all the way up the mountain, so you have no idea what hill you are on till then. Lols.
  14. He may have been talking about Treefitty, a member on the forums here. But that's actually a well presented concise review of the new yorker accent, so thanks anyway...
  15. Old speculation under new light... Remember this poster? - Featured in the GTA IV (OR EFLC I can't remember) booklet that came with the game. The bottom right was ripped, and sent people into a speculation frenzy over the fact whatever was under here was our next location. The poster featured underneath was then found. It was a poster featured in Vice City for a Viagra like medication. (V, i.e 5 hint?) This poster also features Citrus (Oranges, i.e Orange County hint?) This lead some people to beleive that the poster hinted at San Andreas as the next stop. (Also some people thought Vice City as that's where the poster was found.) Then people went crazy and chose to take the rip shape as the map for the next game and matched it quite succesfully to france. That's where the speculation (we now know) went off track as the game is featuring LA (Or Los Santos). How does that tear shape fit onto the real world map of LA? Close enough? What do you think? Is this going to end up being our map? If so will we have a straight line down the right, or is it just the fact the poster ends there and we are only seeing part of GTA V's map?
  16. Quite a clever and funny video review of the GTA 5 trailer. "I hope I get to drive a wind turbine" and "I could give a shit about a crop duster, I wanna hit a cop with a knuckle duster." < Favourite
  17. ^^^ I was going to say shafter for the white one. It's got the tail lights sloped up instead of down, like the white car in the trailer. P.S I also said the red car was Aston Martin rear, with TVR front in another topic. From some angles the body shape looks a bit like an S2000 (Roof line and rear quarter).
  18. I would like to see some more retention of memory of your car, like your horse in red dead. But also, for example the house in the trailer, if you buy that house, within that house's boundary i.e on the lawn, on the driveway (maybe even the two kerbside spots) the cars left there should be remembered. I would actually much prefer these sort of realistic touchs (I know it takes hardware power to remember stuff like this in every safehouse) than a slight graphical boost or an extra mission. On the conversation of saving cars (to derail the topic) I want what we saw in GTA IV to return but better, if you leave your car near a mission it will be there when the mission stars after the cutscene. Sometimes however you had to drive a car in the mission and the car you had been saving is lost. Why can't it be left there, saved there, at least for 3 ingame days or something for you to go collect it later.
  19. I'm not fussed about serious customisation. Though maybe just "fix up apartment" in 3 stages to make it into a decent apartment. Since there seems to be this Property developer vibe going on in the trailer it might be nice to be able to buy and sell property.
  20. This would fit Clifton Collins Jr to a tee! I still reckon its him. Until someone has a better idea.
  21. Bush fires, gang wars, terrorism, race riots, flooding, contagion outbreak, all valid reasons to prevent travel to an area. If there is something like a gang wr stopping you, I don't just want immediate six star, I'd rather get killed by the gangs, or smoke inhalation for fire etc.
  22. The comet is based strongly off a porsche. That red car in the trailer is not at all. The red car is like Aston Martin drop top for the rear end (inc. Tail lights), TVR front end (inc. headlights) and an S2000 body shape. Definately not a comet. More likely it's a Blitz.
  23. Not to mention 4 was supposed to be released in October and was delayed. But in all seriousness, basing your beliefs on solid evidence and using logic. I don't even believe you're a gta fan.
  24. Most of the more modern research into sleeps purpose and dreaming is starting to focus on memory. The things you dream about are just little snippets or visualizations of something you've seen or thought throughout the day, or even as far as what your subconscious links to what you saw during the day. Your brain is just reshuffling and sorting for later recall. Ive had some weird and very lucid dreams lately, where I knew I was dreaming and was able to in some ways modify the dream around me, but i needed practice cause I couldn't control/change everything.
  25. http://gta-sanandreas.com/ How's that? Obvious enough? Haha. Did the same on http://www.gta4.tv I'd like to see it a bit more, in your face. Like take control of the browser window and spin it clockwise, and it doesn't stop till they click the igta link.
