  1. Final post on this matter: I forwarded all ports above 1023 that R* suggested. The game now runs as it should, with zero timeouts.
  2. One more update: I tried some "port forwarding", as Rockstar suggested. However, entering the IP in the address bar results in a "page not found", and port forwarding programs never recognize my router. I might have to look for another way to add ports to my router. All this work, and I'm not even sure my router is the problem... UPDATE: tried to use my ISP's port forwarding application, and I get tons of error messages. Apparently, port numbers MUST be inbetween 1023 and 65536 (???), and the start and end port must never overlap. Huh??? UPDATE: Contacted my ISP. They convinced me that they should act as Open NAT, and that all ports should be open by default. So yeah... maybe it's not the NAT/ports thing. One more bug: one time I managed to get in a session, and suddenly EVERYBODY left. 10 people, all leaving at the same time, including a crewmate I was playing with. Of course I know it was ME who left, not them. Another symptom of the same problem?
  3. Yes, I hit the reset button. The problems haven't stopped. Rockstar finally sent me a generic answer about NAT types and stuff like that, but I have a "type 2" which I assume means "moderate". That should be the right one. I did notice my UPnP is showing as "not available" in my connection tests, despite having enabled it in the settings. EDIT: turns out it Always says "not available", it activates when a game is started.
  4. I'm Tim, 24, and looking for a crew. I don't just want to be another guy added to the pile of anonymous people that never play together (like most crews), but want a crew that is active, preferably have a forum and/or some kind of voice chat, and... you know, play the game together. I would like to do heists sooner or later, and I'll need an organized crew for that.
  5. Guys, I'm getting desperate. I'm seeing everybody playing online, and I STILL can't connect to GTA Online most of the time (timed out locating session), and when I DO get in and try to start any event that involves other people (especially deathmatches - the more people, the worse it gets), I time out almost immediately. I checked my NAT type, and have Type 2. That should be good, right? My internet is a beast, and I have no data limit (it's somewhere between 160 and 400Gb per month). Rockstar is ignoring my complaint on their support forums, and my enthousiasm for this game is dropping by the day. Please help?
  6. My biggest problem with GTA Online at the moment is matchmaking. I'm already forced to play in solo mode at all times, because GTA Online times out 9 out of 10 times. But when I want to start a job (a race, usually), and I pick "join" instead of "host", I Always get the same result. Me, alone, as host. It's as if no one plays GTA Online at all. I have, in my entire online career, only raced other people ONCE. How do I find people who are on a streak of jobs? Do I just drive from job location to job location hoping to find someone trying to do the same job? GTA O is amazingly boring at the moment. I'm Always alone. And if I have the audacity to pick a job that requires more than one player, loading takes forever and I get timed out eventually. Every time. I have never been able to join a deathmatch session, or LTS. Never.
  7. Probably the city map, wouldn't you think? The entire city looks the size of the first Island of GTA IV.
  8. Auch. Clearly Rockstar lied about the world size. I just looove the apologetic comments defending R* lie. First everybody wants a big world, now that we know it's complete utter BS, the fanbois make a face heel turn and say "it doesn't have to be big". Yeah, actually, it HAS to be big. They said it would be. They lied. It's a big deal.
  9. If it comes out on PC, definitely PC. if not, I'll buy a PS3 and buy the PS3 version.
  10. Will one be able to hurt, or even kill animals? I think the "ethical" issue with this is a pure act of hypocrisy. Killing people = okay but killing a dog = immoral? Good job, society!
  11. Michael. Seems fun to play some rich dude trying to be a family man and career criminal at the same time.
  12. So, will there be an equivalent to Rancho Palos Verdes in the game? Looks like it's been replaced by LSX, just like in GTA:SA...
