  1. "Rockstar is considering the implementation of L.A Noire's innovative MotionScan face capture technology in all of its new games - including the next Grand Theft Auto. That's according to Team Bondi co-founder Brendan McNamara speaking in the relaunched PSM3, on sale this week." http://www.computerandvideogames.com/312565/gta-v-rockstar-looking-at-la-noire-face-tech-says-bondi/ Dated from july. Regardless of what McNamara thinks, it's a pretty pointless addition to the game. Maybe a gta title on a next-gen console, but it would be a waste of space right now.
  2. Murdering a ped, 3 stars? No thanks Hmm yeah that would get annoying fast. I don't really care what the exact requirements for each star are, so long as the wanted level progression is more realistic and cops aren't as dumb.
  3. This. I think we're a long way away from the frostbite engine coming to a GTA game (If it ever even happened, which it wouldnt) but flying 100 mph into a 1 inch thick tree should destroy the damn tree, not send me flying out of the windshield. I'd love to be able to pick up more random objects like crates. I could make a badass fort.
  4. A trailer would show off the most of the game so I'd prefer a trailer. We could see some story, characters, weapons, vehicles, parts of the map, potentially anything in the game. Although a release date would be the best info they could release. I'd still buy the game if it were a 10 hour loop of meatspin.
  5. I'm hoping it's more realistic. 1 Star: Pushing someone over, getting into a fist fight, etc. Basic crimes. Only 1 or 2 cops, they will run toward you and attempt an arrest. If you start running away after a cop has seen you you'll go to 2 stars. If you get caught, you can pay a fine, go to jail, or run, which will give you instant 2 stars. 2 Stars: Firing a weapon, use of bat/knife, stealing a car etc. Cops will give chase, will tackle you or use tasers. Will draw weapon if you are in a vehicle. Cops will shoot at your tyres but not at you. If you run when caught, you will recieve instant 3 stars. 3 Stars: Shooting at someone, running someone over etc. Murder basically. (Or if robbery/other crimes are possible, these too) Police chopper, more cops than previous stars. Barricades, spikes etc. WIll shoot at tyres, but will not shoot at you unless you shoot at them. Cops will use pistols or shotguns. 4 Stars: More murder/destruction of cars. Police will attempt to kill you, better weapons, occasional SWAT vehicle/officers. SWAT guys are more intelligent/better trained than cops, so they're more accurate, better drivers etc. Light machine guns as well as the above two. 5 Stars: More of the above. FBI officers, more accurate than regular cops, better weaponry, tougher vehicles, won't just run at you like regular cops will. Assault rifles and below. 6 Stars: More of the above. Military involvement, annhilator, tanks etc. Hard to get to, i.e you'll spend a bit of time on 5 stars before this happens. Heavy machine guns, vehicle mounted guns etc. I'm just wanting a more realistic wanted level system. Realistic star progression, and even if the regular beat cops are dumb, the FBI/SWAT/other should use cover and such, and not just wander out in the open toward you. Perhaps even basic tactics like flanking or getting to higher ground. Cop chases/shootouts have always been a favourite of mine so i'd like these to be fun and challenging, not just me sat in a corner blasting dumb ass cops as they run at me with their pistols while I gun them down with an m16. Even the FBI officers did the same, and it's not at all realistic when it takes 50 of them running at me with AK47's before I finally get killed.
  6. Might happen, but I doubt a kidnap plot would be the main story arc. I don't see how it could be winded out into the long storylines we usually see in GTA. Just imagine if the entire plot of IV was based around the mission where roman gets kidnapped. Perhaps if it's a drug relaged storyline his family get kidnapped toward the end and you have to save the day.
  7. Anyone else want this to return? or at least more emphasis on stunts/areas where stunts are possible. IV didnt have much in the way of stunt jumps and even then, hitting stairs at more than 2mph sent you flying.
  8. Protip: Have a secondary weapon for your stealth archer. My guy is a stealth archer, and it doesn't even work as a character half the time, because there's either too many enemies at once to pick off before they all run at you, you get attacked before you see the enemy so you can't sneak up on them, or you spend half the game in small caves with no room to sneak up on anyone/you cant see far enough. It's fun outside or if there's only 1-2 enemies you need to pick off but otherwise the 'stealth' aspect of stealth characters in general fails pretty badly in combat situations. Which is why I have a kickass warhammer incase I need to get up close.
  9. "There will also be several side missions, races, hits, deals, rampages and secrets that can be done though out the city. GTA V will also be complete with mini games such as golfing, gambling, video games, races and much more. The player will be able to buy up businesses, work out at the gym, get a bite to eat, go on dates, and even be friend useful characters for hide outs, weapons and vehicles. " Maybe she slept with a developer for this information? She seems legit.
  10. Lee evan's new stand up DVD 'roadrunner'. Funny but not as much as he used to be, his comic style seems to have shifted somewhat. I never almost wet myself like I did watching his first two. 7/10
  11. I just want more realistic customisation in terms of performance. Obviously i'm not talking gran turismo realism but tires/brakes that actually effect handling, noticable speed increases etc.
  12. Pedestrians attack you. This was fun as hell in san andreas, with better AI, better physics and hordes of peds climbing ladders and stairs to beat your ass would be pretty awesome. Plus this would mean a zombie cheat/DLC wasnt necessary as it would accomplish pretty much the same thing.
  13. No shit, but why would it be stupid to have another october release? Did I say anything about it being stupid? Wind your scrawney little neck in and make a proper case for your ill thought out prediction. There's just no winning with these noobs. Ooh, big man with the insults. What prediction are you reffering to exactly? I dont remember making one in this thread.

  15. I hope there's UFOS or bigfoot or something in the game. After the countless myths stemming from SA it would be nice if at least one of them existed. Failing that, enough content to keep people guessing. I spent hours in the deserted farms looking for leatherface and flying above area 69 looking for UFOs. There's a bigfoot looking guy on the police car so maybe there'll be something in the woods afterall....
  16. Last time I checked all GTA games have been released in october except chinatown wars. IV was headed for an octover 07 release but got delayed till april. How would it be stupid to release it in october? Given E3 is a month or so before it would make perfect sense.
  17. Agreed. If it gets added it wont be part of the plot, but if it is they'll probably take the piss on the radio/have it as an easter egg or something. A few people sat on a bench with 'Occupy Los Santos' signs maybe. IV was pretty up with pop culture and had references to real life events. Would make sense for this to be in V somewhere if rockstar arent too far into development.
  18. I think the physics engine limits the gore. Euphoria (Where the AI and physics came from in IV and likely in V) immitates the human body (Skeleton, muscles and nervous system), and I don't think the AI is capable of telling itself to blow its own head off, but it can pinpoint wounds and impacts and act accordingly as if a real person would. I hope this isn't the case though and they just chose not to. Hell, you could shoot people's heads off in GTA 3. It's a bit of a step backward if you cant do it now.
  19. Xbox 360 magazine covers GTA V and it's basically a trailer analysis dragged out to 4-5 pages. I imagine any ps3 magazines would be the same and/or speculation based on internet rumors/trends from previous games.
  20. Forgot about that. Either way, Agent is single player stealth game, which means theres no multiplayer staff needed, and I highly doubt such a game would need to be influenced by pop culture. Link to the source which says Agent won't have multiplayer. Fix'd post. It's most LIKELY gonna be single player. Splinter cell, hitman etc have always be single player, I personally don't feel like it would fit in this genre except for co op missions. Nothing is concrete as I explained in my first post, just wondered what you guys thought. I posted the three job listings that sounded most GTA-esque, and assuming i'm right in saying they're for GTA V, if they're still hiring for those positions at this stage a late 2012 release seem more likely to me.

  22. Hi guys, so i've been checking the careers section on the Rockstar website as I do every so often, and noticed a couple of job listings and responsibilities listed for Rockstar North (where almost all gta games are developed) that tell me an early (April-June) 2012 release unlikely for gta 5. Rockstar North Character Animator Qualifications "Professional experience developing a third person action game." Skills Exceptional skill in animating realistic human characters. Rockstar North Multiplayer Gameplay Programmer Rockstar North Character Development Assistant Responsibilities A strong creative sensibility: both media savvy & highly pop - culturally aware -------------------- There are more on there, but I just pointed out a few. As far as i'm aware R* arent working on anything else, so It tells me that there's still alot of work to be done and I don't think an early 2012 release would be likely unless they're rushing. Thoughts?
  23. What the hell are you talking about? GTA IV used the Euphoria engine. & It was delayed because of development issues with the ps3 version. Any delays for V will be financial or some unexpected development problem. It has nothing to do with the game engine... Whoa! Chill the fuck out Mr Expert. I never said I was an expert, that guy is just an idiot. Just because someone doesn't eat, sleep and shit GTA it doesn't make them an idiot. Correcting someone's mistake without breaking their balls would be a better way to go about it. I dont rape GTA either. The idiot statement was reffering to his grammar and the "In gta 5 rage engine would be better because the basics are given from gta 4" bit. Which makes him sound like an idiot.
