  1. I really wouldn't advise going for an FX processor, they are cheap because they are garbage. If you really must go AMD, you could get a Phenom II X6 in the same price range and though older, it is far superior.
  2. I would recommend saving for a while if you really have to have the game running at Ultra settings. If you really can't wait, you can get some fairly reasonable motherboard bundles at Amazon and use one of them for the basis of your rig, but I think you may be dissappointed with the results.
  3. Your perspective doesn't change in FP, so you are still viewing everything as if you were normal height.
  4. Setscale is gay in first person.
  5. I can't see how it would be a bad thing, one of the best things about GTA has always been creating carnage and this would only add to that. That being said, I don't think they will add it but if they did, it wouldn't detract from the game at all.
  6. Bigfoot's so 2004. I want to see the Loch Ness Monster, or Chupacabra.....
  7. Or riding off the Empire State Building lookalike on a motorbike and surviving. Hella fun though, I stand by my previous post.
  8. Should be ordering the rest of the components for my rig on tuesday. I'm getting more money than I expected so now I am going for an Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 mobo, i5 3570k and a GTX 670.
  9. New game from the makers of Heavy Rain. beyondps3.com
  10. I can just about remember watching Colin Baker on the telly when I was about 4 or 5. After that it was Sylvester McCoy, of course and then I have seen just about every film and rerun before that. Lost track since the second David Tenant series though.
  11. Well, if you go by reviews, 81% on metacritic is a pretty good score. Metro and Crysis are popular for benchmarks because they have a built-in benchmark mode which gives far more reproducable numbers than running through the game with Fraps, for instance. Metro is actually generally perceived as being poorly optimised, btw.
  12. I know, those are the figures stated in the article. For the £1000+ model, given the GPU, I would hazard a guess at about 20fps or a little more @ 720p. *Edit* TechRadar benchmark:
  13. You'll shit yourself when you read about it's performance though; 30fps in Battlefield 3... Although for that, you'd have to buy the £1000+ version. I can already see it will be quite popular with the gullible masses, even though you can get the same level of performance from a PS3 costing less than a third of the price.
  14. ^ XD This is what I think. I've not done a play through as a vampire yet, because they are.. well, shite. But this looks like a good place to start; reminds me of the vampire off Underworld 2. *Edit* Some interesting points on here that I missed.
  15. No, you're probably thinking of the X51. It's a slimline PC range starting at £700.
  16. Vampires done properly too. My PC should be ready for this in a couple of weeks as well.
  17. You'd do yourself (and your wallet) a big favour by avoiding prebuilt setups like Alienware.
  18. I assume you mean the graphics card? In most cases with laptops (even with dedicated graphics solutions), it is difficult, if not impossible to upgrade the graphics. Dells are also notoriously poor on the upgrade front, so your friend is probably right I'm afraid. You may be able to overclock it, this would probably have a very negative effect on temperature though.
  19. Sounds good, will have to wait to try it though, I'm not using my laptop for gaming anymore.
  20. This guy does a load of Metal remixes of game themes.
  21. Absolutely, but apparently you didn't, nor my reply to it. Anyway that's as much as I am going to say on the subject. Re read my posts a few times though, they might sink in.
