  1. I'm more optimistic about the future of GTA tbh. T2 announced last month that shark card sales have generated $500 million since GTA Online went live 2.5 years ago, but GTA V made a billion in just 3 short days! Rockstar would be mad to rely GTAO going forward. Then there's the fact that GTA has traditionally been a single-player game.

In early September last year, the director of design at R* North stated that GTAO had 8 million active players. A few weeks before that, T2 said that GTA V had sold 54 million copies since launch! So GTAO isn't as big a success as R* claims and they definitely know this.

Nearly $200 million per year is more than most game companies can hope for, unless you have a cheap but popular pile of shit like GTAO or CoD. The billion they made from the real game is very rare in the game industry, and not something that's likely to be repeated until GTA VI or TES VI.

Also, World of Warcraft is, and will likely always be, the most popular and successful MMO on the market, and they were down to 5.5 million players, as of a year or so ago. At peak, I believe they were somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 million. 8 million people still playing GTAO (as of a year ago, anyway) is a pretty big deal. It's extremely successful, especially in a world where there's a new online game taking the world by storm, every other month. Overwatch is immensely popular right now, and it's just a cheap team-based shooter made from the scraps of a canceled MMO. Online games that aren't MMOs are extremely easy to make, and extremely lucrative. It's basically a miracle that GTAO is still so popular.

  2. this is why we might not ever see another game from them, they're making buttloads of it releasing stuff like this... this will be the downfall of a once great company...

I warned you niggas. I told you two years ago this shit was coming, and y'all just waved it off like it wasn't true. The writing was on the wall, and y'all just put new wallpaper over it. Warning of hubris came from the high heavens, and y'all just kept on worshipping at the altar of avarice. Motherfucking video game Nostradamus told y'all what was goin' down, and y'all -

  3. I didn't like the Railroad story that much, because they kept you undercover with Father for so long. I feel like I should have done my Institute character first because I'll have already seen everything but the last two quests. The Railroad story feels lazy to me because it's essentially "do 90% of the Institute story, then do the last Brotherhood quest, but with an inferior group of characters."

  4. I went peaceful, since my first character is really just a wandering tinkerer. I didn't even mention Acadia to the Brotherhood.

My Railroad chick will side with Acadia, but refuse to do the thing DiMa suggests to deal with the Children of Atom. She'll make peace between the groups however she can, but not quite the same as my tinkerer did. My Minuteman will side with Far Harbor, and tell them everything. My Institute character will become disillusioned with the world, tell the Institute about Acadia, and side with the Children due to overwhelming nihilism.

I still don't have a Brotherhood diehard. My first guy only went Brotherhood because they have a shared interest in technology, and soldiering is what he knows best. Other than tinkering.

  5. Helmet was a little too bulky, for me. Plus, you can't modify it, so no ultra-light build, meaning it's heavier than I'd like, for a helmet. Sporting assault marine armor, marine wetsuit, and tactical marine helmet. I switch to the zealot armor and inquisitor hood, if I'm feeling... rad.

  6. Just finished it before going to work, this afternoon. I forget where the beam initially comes from, but you just go counter-clockwise, from there. It's hard to explain further without a diagram.

  7. The new aesthetic they gave the Children of the Atom in Far Harbor makes them look cooler than any other faction from the Commonwealth. My Inquisitor-painted marine armor set looks incredible, aside from the left arm being ruined, once again, by the Pip-Boy. First mod I'm hoping for, when we get them on console, is a Pip-Boy replacer. I've been using a mod to replace it with a handheld since 3.

  8. Captain Avery is fucking gone. She was in my way, and tried to start the dialogue that ends The Changing Tide while I was trying to do The Great Hunt, so I just walked past her and continued my quest. When I got back from that (the quest has a travel sequence), she was gone, and my quest marker says she's in the same location as me, wherever I go. I didn't realize this until AFTER I'd done a thousand things and there were no saves left from before this, because I didn't have it set as my active quest. Nothing is fixing it.

Should've just upgraded my PC. None of this would have happened.

  9. Suits and supercars. A smart career criminal knows you don't blow your money on tacky shit like that. Guess those meager (and sometimes not even real lowrider) lowrider updates are my only shot at a decent aesthetic.

Ah well, at least the trafficking will be fun. Hopefully. If it can't be done solo, I'll never get my schedule to line up with anyone else's.

  10. It's the fog, along with some menu items. I'm not getting any lag in clear areas, but the fog wrecks my framerate. Also noticing lag with reading notes, the workshop UI, and the power armor HUD. Either Bethesda or Fallout tweeted yesterday that they're working on it.

  11. Do what makes you happy, Synch ol' pal, but is your BoS character a diehard soldier? The most hardcore of the BoS would never befriend a ghoul.

(Mine wasn't diehard. Always loved the ghouls)

  12. If I remember correctly, Longfellow's coat has 150 damage resistance, when you use the highest ballistic weave on it. Currently sporting that with road goggles and a black mining helmet. The beam on that thing is infinitely better than the Pip-Boy light, in this fog.

I'm so glad I brought Nick. The connections to his backstory are pretty great.

  13. True to my word, I stole Longfellow's coat. It looks so much better than anything in the base game.

I haven't even spoken to him, yet. Walked into the bar, pickpocketed the coat, went outside and fast traveled home to dump the loot I stole from around town.
