The issue is that the proposed wall is a very short term project that will cost a fortune, create a disappointing number of temporary jobs (along with a small number of jobs for our great nation's many assholes), and have zero long-term benefits for the country as a whole. Trump just wants to wave his dick around because he's that kind of guy.
Also, it's a hell of a lot easier to maintain your spot in the middle class than it is to be impoverished and work your way up. I think offering a hand to those who need it is perfectly fine. I do think, however, that we need to focus on the poor in America, before the poor anywhere else.
After giving Mexico millions of dollars in silver, which would have been stolen from them in the first place, a hundred years ago. Unlike reparations for slavery, it would actually be a valid cause.

RDR 2 will break a billion, just like GTA V. Hell, it might even outsell it. The new Rockstar wouldn't hesitate to spend a fortune on a Super Bowl ad, knowing they'll easily recoup the losses ten- or twentyfold from the microtransaction-riddled corpse of a franchise that was just starting to get good.

State and local governments can still make progress, at least.
Trump and his lapdogs can bury their heads in the sand all they want, but climate change is a big fucking problem, and fossil fuels have done more harm than good for about thirty years now. It's up to state officials and regular citizens to fix this, now.

200,000 liters of oil spilled on aboriginal land in Canada, a few days ago. The assertion that these pipelines will prevent oil spills in the ocean means jack shit, if it's still spilling on land. The difference is that the oil can easily be recovered and cleaned, if it's spilled on land. That's all they give a shit about.
There is no excuse for oil anymore. Renewable energy is cheaper and easier to set up than it's ever been before. We were making excellent strides in the right direction, and Trump is going to ruin that. Last I looked, the White House's page on climate change is fucking gone. RIP progress.
