I think I found UP before Quincy, just a load of synths there having a battle with a vertibird and some paladins. I didn't head into Quincy until much later when I found the kid. I trust everyone knows about 35 Court by now?

I read somewhere that if you start a relationship with someone else you can find Piper asking Valentine to keep tabs on you. Have you tried using the settlement bell to locate her?

I wouldn't say the Atom Cats are that cool. The idea of ruining a set of power armour with a tacky flame paintjob to me is blasphemous. That fight in Quincy was pretty epic though when I did it because there was a caravan travelling through there at the time and I was escorting the ghoul kid home. Plasma and mini nukes flying everywhere.

Yeah some black guy pretending to be Preston with the outfit, musket and all. He ended up running away when I told him I knew Preston.

Think I want to go full BoS playthrough this time, but the radiant Minuteman missions keep coming and I feel compelled to do them, I should've just said "fuck the Minutemen and fuck you Preston Garvey" and left them in Concord. Anyone had the random encounter with 'Preston Garvey'? Made me laugh.

I understand that, but they are still too low. Using the scrap glitch to build more, maybe twice the allowed amount doesn't have any discernable impact on fps. I get a slight lag when approaching Starlight as it all loads but that's it. It's fine when you're there. Compare that to being in Boston where you can get random fps drops pretty frequently by just looking in the wrong direction, i'd say that's more of a concern.

The thing that put me off settlements was the ridiculously low build cap. Sure i've been using the scrap glitch but no doubt when that's patched all the excess stuff that i've built will disappear. Saying that i'm looking at Egret tours marina for my new "place" in this playthrough. I want somewhere with danger nearby, no point having defenses if nothing ever attacks.

Yeah Aquaboy was one of the first perks I took in both my first and second games, quite OP being able to breathe underwater too.

Yeah it doesn't replace Dogmeat. It just adds some defense to whatever settlement you send it to, you can't interact with it in any way as far as I know, not even to give it gear. I had it at Starlight with Dogmeat, of course I had to make a second kennel for it. My second character is becoming more rounded now, getting to the point where I can easily take down super mutants and gunners. She has a nice laser rifle - La Belle Lumiere. One with the infinite ammo bonus plus it's pretty much maxed out in terms of modding. She also has the laser musket which again is pretty much maxed, only got the 5 crank upgrade though. I use that for sneak attacks on powerful enemies but the rifle for pretty much everything else. Got my first plasma rifle which i'm planning on becoming a sort of short range shotgun equivalent. I may buy the unique laser rifle from Arturo that does double damage to enemies on full health, then swap over the mods from the other rifle onto that and use the infinite ammo one on my laser pistol. Not decided where I want to go main storyline with her:

Yeah that was a quest I did soon after getting into Boston, a fun one. Of course I sided with the robots... Kinda reminded me of the Come Fly With Me quest from NV. Now though in my second playthrough I feel the need to see the other side, but I know its going to be so boring siding with the scavengers. If you go and talk to Ironsides after finishing the quest he'll just give you an admiral's hat IIRC.

One thing we need is armour mannequins, they're in the game already so why can't we build and use them to show off our shit. And also the ability to lock items in place so npcs can't knock them around when i'm trying to furnish my settlement. Although I think the problem is more things gradually sinking into the floor never to be seen again - there's a mirelurk egg omlette under the floorboards somewhere at Starlight.

Yeah this Kelly woman is stuck at Drumlin Diner now, despite sites saying she's generally found at Tenpines Bluff. Cricket however i've seen all over, from Malden Center, Quincy, Vault 81 and everywhere in between. Those chem sellers, one's called Simon i've seen all over the place too.

Do you mean the higher level ones with stealth? I kept getting nearly oneshotted by one of those in Quincy one time. Took me three reloads before I knew what was doing it. Worse than Coursers TBH. Yeah I knew you could buy brahmin in my first playthrough but never saw anyone selling any despite keeping my eyes peeled. In my new game the woman selling them won't fuck off.

    Fallout

Started my second character, made a woman just to see if the start was any different - it wasn't, just the opposite naturally. She's going to be a laser rifle wielding tech expert, possibly using a few more explosives too so I may pick the relevant perks for crafting them and making their explosions bigger. It's realy hard starting out using fusion cells, they're so rare and vendors have only started selling 5-10 of them at level 10. I plan on upgrading the laser musket fully since it packs a punch, already got the long bracketed barrel with focus and long scope, just need to upgrade the crank. Still, i'm going back to my first character today, lots I haven't done since finishing the main questline a few days back, lots i've discovered since starting my new character. Ending spoilers commence: And if i'm honest i'm missing the Behemoth in Lexington, I lure him back to Starlight drive-in since my defense is so high there I never get attackers, it's fun seeing him get obliterated by several heavy laser and missile turrets. Oh, and another thing, another thing... In my new game there's a woman named Kelly who sells brahmin, she's constantly near the Drumlin Diner, i've bought three off her now. In my first game I never even met her and can't get more than one brahmin at each settlement. In my first game I only got the guy selling Junkyard Dog to me, but that was at quite a late level, no brahmin sellers whatsoever.

Yeah I do like the X-01. Looks quite menacing, i'm currently working on a power armour workshop at Starlight for all the sets I have.

Fucking AI logic. I discover Quincy ruins taking that kid home, get involved in a massive fight between plasma rifle wielding, power armour wearing gunners and caravan guards, kill most of the gunners, take a shot at the last guy and a caravan guard steps in the way and gets hit. Next thing I know I get the "send piper to..." screen and the "she hated that" popup, then she turns hostile so I put a couple of shotgun rounds in her head, say fuck it, reload and do it all over again. And she was supposedly meant to be my lover. True story.

Just tentatively put my first missile turret down at Starlight, I held off until now for fear of it blowing up half the town. I'm sure the patch will take care of that though when Beth get rid of the scrap exploit.

I haven't specifically listened to the radio but there's a quest to make that guy more confident which I did the other day, at the Dugout Inn in Diamond. Dunno what unlocked it though, I just got told to speak to the barman.

    Fallout

Sanctuary just became my test town. I never go back there now, so everyone could quite possibly be dead and my pip-boy's lying to me. I remember a time when Lexington just had ghouls in it, now i've levelled so much there's a resident Behemoth there who I constantly have to kill every time I come through and the raider in the power armour on the billboard carries a fat man... still it adds to the fun. I'm sad to say that i'm getting bored of vertibirds getting into battles with super mutants and crashing every time i'm near.

^ I found that place the other day, is it the Harbormaster Hotel? I thought max settlers was 20, but I have 21 at Starlight. I'm not sure if it counts companions you send there as residents, I sent Piper there and put her to work tending the farms, plus Dogmeat's there too. Speaking of Starlight, it has to be my favourite settlement so far, just because it's not too cluttered with preexisting buildings meaning I can fully unleash my creative-urban-planning-anal-nit-picking (lol) fastidiousness. I only got half of the wall done before I hit the build cap so i've been using the throw down junk and scrap glitch to bypass that and finish my town. I'm really liking it, I have a full market area with all the big vendor stalls, I placed down loads of shelves behind stocked with their relevant gear which gradually gets knocked about and falls into the floor but it looked nice to begin with, made it feel more lived in. I have the ocassional settler who somehow manages to get on to a roof and do their suicidal looking bit and not doing their allocated job, but I always tempt them down by removing the roof their standing on. Also, has anyone conclusively found out what the salvaging station does yet? In general i'm kinda mixed about the game, it's great but it doesn't feel revolutionary or pushing the limits of the console, in Boston you sometimes get huge fps drops (usually after playing for a solid few hours though.) My initial thought when I played it was "this feels exactly like Skyrim" but I guess it would when it started development around the same time. However Skyrim is 4 years old now and last-gen and this doesn't feel any sharper to me, i'm not talking about bugs or glitches either as you expect that with a Bethesda game (only had two crashes so far though,) just technically it doesn't feel like a 2015 game. Still i'm loving it and taking my time with the story and quests, looking forward to finishing this character and starting again with a more honed one... probably a laser wielding science buff who "don't take no shit from no-one". See you next year! *semi-joking

    Mad Max

Well I got it for £37.99 off Amazon, not cheap but not as expensive as some games which can go up to £50. I had finished Far Cry 4 which was a pretty short game really so I wanted something to pass the time until Fallout. The northern part of the map reminds me of New Vegas somewhat and the Buzzard faction members look like the Ghost People from Dead Money. Far Cry 4 took me so long! I pretty much 100%'d it though. Well i'm just talking about the story, I collected all the masks and had done most of the posters then got bored and played through again, which took me another 3-4 days to finish. There was no reason to bother collecting everything, whereas with Mad Max i'm enjoying taking my time with the story, doing side quests and fixing up the strongholds.

    Mad Max

Surprised nobody's posted here since its release. I picked it up on a whim after watching a bit of gameplay and I must say i'm thoroughly enjoying it despite the majority of reviews saying it wasn't that good. I particularly love the sandstorms, watching the front of dust get closer on the horizon then finally hitting with a cacophonous roar. The car combat is pretty fun and challenging if you go unprepared and don't upgrade your car... which is another thing I love, being able to choose from a range of car bodies and slowly upgrade it with flamethrowers, spiked rims and the like. It doesn't feel forced because you can try to beat convoys armed with just a shotgun, harpoon and four wheels but it makes it so much harder. There are a few minor bugs but on the whole it plays pretty well and looks quite nice, especially when you look towards Gastown at night and see the plumes of flame lighting up the sky. I would've liked to have seen more of a tie-in with the water mechanic forcing you to drink or become dehydrated. Water should be a necessity to stop you losing health, not something to drink to help you restore health... oh and I particularly enjoy eating maggots from rotting corpses, much fun.
  24. I had no idea it was on a list. Sometimes the markers are gold and the person who made the job is in the server. I pay them no heed however.
  25. I don't know if it's relevant but some cunt put a DM mission marker in the 10 car garage interior, plus it was floating a few feet off the ground so you couldn't see it. Wandering in my garage and suddenly i'm in a lobby, managed to quit quckly though.
