  1. I think Dupz earlier annotations were more with the leaked map in mind, but the newer maps look to be just taken from what we know from the few screencaps we have. Of course we're seeing such a small area it could be a tiny, insignificant part of the map, and we still don't know where the town or the Zancudo river area are in relation to this.
  2. Shame we can't place the town or the Zancudo river in relation to that. They feel somewhat isolated.
  3. One thing that bugs me about the credibility of that map is the rorschach-esque mirrored island at the bottom right, of course that won't be the map we see in game if it turns out to be real, but why is it there?
  4. Since we know the oil derricks are to the right of the posse and your "Grizzly" mountain is also in that direction can we assume that the rider mounting the horse in the barn is at or near the derricks?
  5. Pretty sure the loner is coming from roughly the opposite direction of the posse due to the two butte profiles. If anything I was thinking it could be from one mission that doesn't end too well, be I also thought it might be to do with the derricks, but he's heading the wrong way for that.
  6. I'm still hoping it isn't genuine, but it is looking slightly more credible. Going to repost this in here as it seems more pertinent to this topic; The mountain profile has a distinctive flat section at 0:32 (centre right above the mule) and 0:57 (far right, to the right of ze pointy butte) the peaks either side of the flat section don't quite match but different viewpoints, angles, perspective etc. could account for that. Same mountain profile at 0:36 above the tree, seems to closely match with that of 0:57.
  7. The light on the telegraph pole in the shop scene - is it a gas lamp or electric? I can't see any wires running from it but it looks too small to be a gas lamp. There's also one in the vulture scene.
  8. Looking at those vultures pick at the corpse frame by frame is pretty impressive, the animations and AI seems very lifelike... and also the blood spurts. Lol, spurts.
  9. If the potential for Dutch, Bill and John to be in it doesn't hint at a prequel then counting the number of bison (yes, bison, hah!) is a sure fire way to prove it takes place before. Is every topic in this subforum really going to start with "RDR2"?
  10. I'll keep editing my post above as I see things, i'll leave it up to Dup or yourself if you want to put them into the form of a map, I know that's more your thang.
  11. Ok, rock (mesa) behind the tree at 0:10 looks like the same rock at 0:57. (smaller rock is to the right which looks similar too.) Sun is setting or rising so it's either looking east or west. The mountain profile has a distinctive flat section at 0:32 (centre right above the mule) and 0:57 (far right, to the right of ze pointy butte) the peaks either side of the flat section don't quite match but different viewpoints, angles, perspective etc. could account for that. Same mountain profile at 0:36 above the tree, seems to closely match with that of 0:57.
  12. I did actually, as soon as I saw it. Don't think the guy speaking is the protag, but I guess we'll see.
  13. The guy at the front does look pretty "generic cowboy," he doesn't look like a grizzled outlaw.
  14. I did wonder about the guy in the middle, logic would dictate he's the leader of the gang, whereas potential Dutch is to his right and behind him. Perhaps Dutch was second in command and overthrew him.
  15. The day I see a Mexican in anything but a sombrero in westerns is the day I give up hope in humanity.
  16. Yeah that looks more convincing, just the bowler hat is throwing me off. Do Mexicans wear bowler hats?

    Mad Max

I think everyone who played this has taken that last shot, I know I did. Gas Town does look so pretty smoking away in the distance.
  18. While i'm excited about any updates at this point i'm also kinda disappointed if they are doing the story of Dutch's gang. That puts us about the mid 1890s or just before the turn of the century, which IMO is still too modern for a true western game, i'd prefer something set in the 1870s or 80s. However i'm sure it'll be brilliant. Also, which one of those guys would be Javier Escuella? The one on the right with his face obscured?
  19. Waiting to be fed, clearly. RDR and SA are two of the greatest games ever.
  20. *flinches* *struggles in rocking chair, tries in vain to reach for the shotgun*
  21. Yeah exactly my thoughts, we haven't had a proper release since GTA V. What have R* San Diego been doing for the last 4-5 years anyway apart from maybe helping out North with V and swimming in all the shark card profit.
  22. But it's on a red background!! RED! Anyway I have a feeling the game is 80% complete at this stage, I imagine we'll see it spring/summer next year. Looking forward to seeing my speculation butchered and reposted as official info by idiotic "news" sites... oh there's going to be nine playable characters too.
  23. If so: At. Fucking. Last. Huzzah for Rockstar. If not: Fuck you Rockstar.
  24. Yeah atmosphere over graphics all the way for me makes or breaks a game, which is why I liked the look of it.
