it's not bundled with the system...

the fact that the PS eye is not bundled with the system means we won't have a bunch of games that require the use of the peripheral... i was worried about that a little, afraid that motion gaming was becoming an important part of next gen since nintendo and microsoft are still touting it... thankfully sony went back to its roots and decided to deliver a gaming system and not one with fancy bells and whistles...

if any of my friends here or IRL get this game for the PS4, then i might get it too so i can play with them... i am still not sold on a world of warcraft style of RPG, but the world of tamriel is a world i know well so it would have that going for it...

as a long time plus member, it's not that big of a deal to pay a little... i get free games constantly and exclusive demos and betas... it always pays for itself within the first month of re-upping... microsoft tried to do the same thing by offering 2 ancient games for free, i don't think they did it right...

yea, i thought i got the vibe that PS+ was important to online gaming too... thankfully their online subscription is far more robust than xbox... what was their first free "rip off the PS+ idea" game? AC2 and some other old as shit game? come on, uncharted 3 will be free tomorrow...

dunno about that expensive headset deal with R*... the system looks a lot smaller than the new xbox, and the used game philosophy is perfect... the only thing i didn't hear much about was the new ways to use the controller... and i caught a couple of times where they side stepped free online gaming... watch out for that... all in all both teams put together a good conference... the AC4 bug looked like it pissed of the guys running it as i am sure it cut off a key moment in the gameplay... i am still excited about that game though... and the price tag kind of makes it enticing considering that i am already a plus member, and this next gen will kind of make you become one to play the latest and greatest... i kind of felt like sony was side-stepping their consumerism of the platform tho, and it might cost a few extra bucks for the full experience... perhaps it's there way of making a few extra bucks as apposed to microsoft's way of making money off the used market... you gotta watch out, sony never outlined their online model just yet... their whole philosophy on used games and sharing though was refreshing... this video cracked me up

it wasn't a bad conference at all... the focus was on xbox and not the TV stuff or kinect... it was all about the games...

that "glass" concept is kind of interesting, does it only apply to glass enabled tablets? i am sure that if sony is doing something similar, you'd do it thru the vita, which i still don't want to buy...

i can't get over the fact that you play for 5 minutes and watch a 15 minute cutscene, then play for another 10 minutes, then watch a 30 minute cutscene... it's too much story telling IMO... the game itself is usually fun, but i can never get passed that... i played and beat the first two, made it through the first act in 3 and spent a few hours exploring in 4... it's just not my thing mainly because of the god awful long cutscenes...

ryse was the only thing from their conference that i want to play... everything else was meh... and starting off the show with a non-exclusive?? that wasn't a good first step even though the new metal gear looks really good... but another halo, another forza, witcher 3 (which is probably no exclusive), titanfall, and a slew of others... even insomniac's cartoonish looking open world looked meh.... EDIT: twitch TV sounds promising, but it didn't sound like it was exclusive because microsoft would of boasted that one... sounds like twitch TV will be the place to see friends play... for those of us that want to watch other people's GTA deathmatches now have an answer... and project spark looks like the next gen version of little big planet with a 3D world instead of the side scrolling affair from LBP... i dunno about that one either, LBP got boring after a while, this could face the same fate... notice no one ever talks about it anymore??

i think it's all about the new TV they're working on... 15 minutes until xbox tries to prove they're not just a TV console that always has to be connected to the net...

now THAT looks really good... not a day 1 for me but wow, it's definitely a must play... kinda surprised to see it leaked since it was the surprise of last years E3 because no one knew about it...
