  1. Haha, well I never saw those mountains before. So no clues for San Fierro then, as that mountain probably is not Chilliad. Would also be a little demanding if Los Santos is going to be pretty large, we would expect the same from San Fierro (and other towns). About flying to different cities: there can also be several small airstrips, maybe even a privately owned one on a private island. I wonder by the way how 'compatible' the engine for GTA5 will be to GTA4, could they possibly port the whole GTA4 game to the enhanced GTA5 engine for example. This is partly an interesting question because the engine for GTA4 was not really optimized for PC, and probably could achieve much better performances in the upgraded 5 engine IF they are compatible in the first place.
  2. Good points there, but usually Rockstar is pretty accurate on using (natural) landmarks. I don't live in that area, so I don't know if there are mountains in the L.A. region. And if they create more than one city I would like to see an El Paso/Cuidad Juarez, as an afterthought. Since a lot of stuff is happening there always.
  3. About the Golf course and SF: You clearly see the LS skyline near the golf course, so this one is in LS. I was checking the old GTA SA trailers, and in the first one (correct me if I'm wrong) they were only showing pieces of Los Santos. Even the airplane scene on that trailer is situated in Los Santos. Then with the 2nd trailer they showed the Golden gate bridge, Las venturas, etc... In fact this first GTA5 trailer has given away much more information than the first GTA SA trailer did, namely countryside, this mountain, etc... Then I see most people think that mountain is Mt. Chilliad? Perfect, because that would mean San Fierro should be in this game. Mt. Chilliad being based on Mt. Diablo in the SF bay area. Why would they use a natural landmark of SF area and not have SF? Another clue is the sheer size of the game Red Dead Redemption. When Rockstar is saying they are working on one of their biggest games with GTA5, would they compare it to GTA SA, or another game they have produced? GTA5 *could* become 3 or 4x the size of GTA SA, if with biggest they are referring to the size of the map. I can't wait for the next trailer, or teaser, with more clues
  4. A game franchise like GTA shouldn't need much marketing. It's annoying to wait for that long. Just release a trailer, then release the game next week, then players will do the rest of the marketing. Will improve everyone's life, and will leave less time for people lobbying to ban violent games to stop GTA5 or some of its features.
  5. Boston, Chicago, etc... will probably never get their own GTA title, because those cities have a very similar 'mood' to Liberty City. Of course people living in Chicago and Boston will never agree to that, but for others that's how it looks. London has a bigger chance, although I'm not sure if Americans (biggest market) would be thrilled about it.
  6. If it doesn't take at least 15 minutes to drive from the eastern to the western edge of the map on a proper speed (I like long drives, as long as the game doesn't force me to drive the same roads constantly). I never used the car customization features in GTA, in fact I never keep any car for long. I usually destroy or abandon all vehicles I use. In general they should have accumulated so many nice ideas, gameplay mechanics and features from San Andreas to GTA4 that they can hardly fail at making an epic game.
  7. One weakness is that on that Los Santos map, there doesn't seem to be a beach area for the city. There seems to be a beach near the airport, but the rest is a bit apart from the seaside. Secondly I think this is too small for the new Los Santos. It's about the size of 2, or 3 GTA:SA Los Santos'. Thirdly, why would the map be so vertical (north-south) in shape, while it's more likely a city stretched on the coastline horizontally (west-east)
  8. After playing GTA San Andreas a lot (also recently, because my laptop doesn't even run GTA4) almost everything about GTA4 was disappointing to me. Better to ask me what was not disappointing: - City's realism - Slightly better people behavior - The way cars catch fire, take damage and explode - And really the way you shoot from cars, this is really annoying in SA, when you're used to the GTA4 way (from PC/mouse). But the AI-enemies in GTA4 were still plain suicidal, there was not much going on besides the missions, a lot of good features from SA removed, etc... I hope GTA5 will be a merge between the best of both worlds.
  9. I hope SF-UR DJ Hans Oberlander will be back, even though SF won't be in the game. And I hope a lot of features from San Andreas will be in the game, which I missed in GTA4, such as gyms, fat, sex appeal, gang territories (depends on possible other main characters I guess), etc... I do think a Los Santos without gangs and gang wars would be more like a Vice City type of city.
  10. I hope for many things, but I really hope the PC version will be released around the same time as the console version, and secondly I hope they have done a better job at the PC version's performance.
  11. I think there will be small airfields in the countryside, for example for the crop-duster. So I guess flying will be part of the game again. As for size, try to estimate the height of a skyscraper (amount of floors will help), see the displayed size of the building from a given scene, such as near the oilfields, and it should be possible to calculate an estimated distance = first indication of size. Of course there may be areas so far from the skyscrapers that this doesn't apply, but might at least help to grasp the size of Los Santos itself.
  12. London is cool, but after Liberty City I'm pleased to see a sunny city with beaches again. London would have a similar dense urban structure as Liberty City, including the same type of weather.
