  1. Generally my first play through is a tank goody two shoes. Unless drunk Rob gets his way. Loaded up yesterday and I have a stolen suit of bos power armour at sanctuary Hills. I don't remember doing that.

Those are the best Fallout moments.

  2. I'm keeping an eye on this one. Had a lot of fun in 2 but never finished it as the missions/story failed to make me care. If 3 is just 2 with next-gen (shouldn't it be current-gen at this point?) graphics I'm not sure I'll bother.* That said, so few new games appeal to me I'll probably end up getting it. I can only live in the past so much.

*I say all this without having watched the gameplay footage. Will have a look.

  3.

he's playing fallout 1 or 2, lol ...

I felt it was obvious given my references to The Hub and The Master, but just so everyone knows I'm playing Fallout, not Fallout 4. I know no one cares but I have no where else to do commentary so you're stuck with it.

I noticed, get on Fallout 2 next and bring back the Frank Horrigan nightmares.

That's what I plan to play next. Haven't got a heap of time so it's gonna be a while. I remember that battle being a real pain. Although I do have a happy little gif of him being shot in half.

  4. There's a "quote" button that puts the post you're replying to in your reply. I have no idea who or what you're replying to.

Based on his two posts I suspect you'll struggle. He makes my drunk posts look like works of art. That was probably too mean.

Anyway, onto The Silmarillion! Ladies, form an orderly queue. There's enough Middle-earth knowledge in me for everyone!

  5. Stop being a hater.... I played fallout 2 and got no enjoyment from it and if fallout 4 was that type of game not many people would buy it.

    But, you're so cool

I disagree with your opinion of 2, but I do agree that no one would buy 4 if it was the same as 2 (Wasteland 2 didn't do so well). For the record I love New Vegas, so the new perspective doesn't worry me. 4 just doesn't seem like a game I'd like, so I'm playing a game I do like. Seems logical, to me at least. Not sure why I'm a "hater" (I hate that word...yeah irony) as I've purposely not commented on 4 as I know you all like it and I see no reason to try to turn this topic into an NMA style shit slinging match.

I am very cool, though. I'm glad you noticed.

  7. Hmmm. I tagged gambling for a laugh, and it's worked out well so far. Rolling in cash so I have nice weapons and armour, but it won't help me much late game. In fact, if The Master happens to lock his front door I am utterly defeated.

  8. My Fallout play through is turning into a comedy of errors. Attack raiders. My companions and I die. Attack Deathclaw....my companions and I die. Insult a gangster...I think you know where this is going. I really need to stop dressing like Mad Max and actually wear proper armour. I think I may stop exclusively aiming for the dick. Also starting fights at level 5 is probably not wise. I used to be better at this game.

  9. Assuming you guys are talking about the International Business Times review, it's pretty poor. While the criticism of the dialogue may prove to be fair, it seems like he doesn't like the concept of Fallout. I'm guessing he'd be happier if the map was tiny, had lots of scripted explosions, and non-stop action like a CoD game. Oh, and every action should be a quick time event. He'd probably cry if he tried to play Fallout 2. Also, I wonder what Bethesda will do given they broke the embargo? Also those who haven't read it and don't want early game spoilers should avoid it.

  10.

i feel like it will ;)... that new trailer really hit home for me, it looks like the fallout i want... now lets just hope the story is interesting and the side quests are just as interesting... did you see that waterworld-like area?? that looks like it'll be fun to explore as well B)...

Fuckn mirelurks are gonna ruin things for me :(

My one positive memory of Fallout 3 is fleeing Mirelurks in terror. Angry jerks. I just wanted to ask them the time.

  11. i feel like no one saw the trailer i posted :(...

I'm not crazy about the cartoony colours, but it does seem they've removed the ridiculous green/orange filter they insisted on using in 3 and NV. This is progress.

  12. I had a lung function/capacity test last week. They found I have abnormally high-functioning lungs, and almost record-breaking capacity: 7.5 liters.

Now I'm a pretty short dude who should have pretty short lungs, and I'm a daily smoker (non-tobacco) as well; they repeated every test, just to be double-sure, and the results did not vary.

How can this be explained? Is it a shitty superpower? Am I Iron Lung Boy?

Weed is turning you into a deity.

  13. Actually, there's an ending where they return from their journey and help Novac, if you use your science skill to adjust the rockets' trajectory to be more accurate. It's the only way Novac has a somewhat positive ending.

Really? I did all that and never heard from them again. I love New Vegas. Just when you think you know everything about it someone makes you look silly. It's also possible (even probable) that I was so drunk I missed it. I've only played NV through twice, I'm a bad man. I rant and rave about how bad 3 is, yet I've spent hundreds of hours on 1 and 2, and no where near that on my favourite of the series (although NV and 2 alternate between my favourite depending on my mood).

Between my interest in drinking, Star Wars, Fallout and Middle-Earth I can't understand why I'm still single.

  14. I always ended that quest by having him blow them all up during the launch, even on my good karma runs, I just can't help myself. If you do it correctly, does it successfully launch?

I would probably say somebody is a ghoul once they get healed by radiation. Why do ghouls have triple the average lifespan? (I say triple based on Raul)

It successfully launches, but you obviously never find out if they reached their promised land. The assumption is they all died brutally in the vacuum of space.

  15. It would make sense, even the holds have less than a 100 people in them.

It really irritates me when people bitch about character models and graphics in fallout 4 "This game doesn't have the amazing modern visuals that every other game I'm currently playing has, ITS NOT WORTH BUYING! WHO CARES ABOUT 400 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY??!!???!!?"

Also, I'm pretty sure I saw an article that's headline was something like "Fallout 4 reportedly has 400 hours of gameplay, but is that enough?"

400 is probably too much, haha. I'd probably become convinced I was a ghoul. I like pretty graphics as much as the next guy, but it isn't a game breaker for me. I play too many old games to care about that.

  16. Remember the companions' clubhouse? I can't remember the name of it, but I remember there being multiple people with the same voice there. It just seems unnecessary, seeing as how there are literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people that would lend their voice to the game for free. I can't be the only guy who has thought of that.

Yeah it's silly, especially as a lot of mods have better voice acting. Even if they recycle voice actors due to costs or time or whatever, surely they could at least try to change their voice a little between characters. It's just something I've learned to deal with in Bethesda games. I just made the assumption everyone in Skyrim sounded the same due to inbreeding.

Also Q, I much prefer to be called a "prancing blouse wearer".

  17. So, basically if you liked fallout 3 you'll like this game.... If you didn't like fallout 3 your a worthless cunt.

    Got it.

Hahaha, pretty much. I am well above personal attacks, as it's a game...love it or hate it...there are greater evils in this world. But you are correct. If you like 3 you'll love 4.

You think I'm a "worthless cunt", that's cool. I won't respond, as vitriol solves nothing.

  18. again, the look is not what i am so glued to anyways, if it looks like fallout, then that's good enough for me... i am not one of those that gets too technical with things like that... fallout 3 kinda looked like shit but i loved the gameplay and the story... those elements are all i need for fallout 4 to be the game for me... good action RPG, good story, and fun and interesting locations...

the customization level seems to be a major upgrade to the series as well...

By 'look' I don't mean graphics or anything, just that it seems to be following Fallout 3's blueprint. I can't respond much more, as to do so would bring massive spoilers. While I have no faith in this game, I have no interest in ruining other peoples experience of it. I'm a jerk, but I won't drag others into my misery. So Bones, I guess I'm setting you a challenge. I think Fallout 3 is bad, and I think 4 will be worse. I know you'll be smashing 4 for weeks, so prove me wrong. Convince me my cynicism is misguided. Please? I can only play 1, 2 and NV for so long.
