  1. Like most of you I am also looking backwards for games to play. Only games from 2016 I have bought are Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2, F1 2016 and Just Cause 3 (while drunk and it was on sale for $15). Oh and I received Barbie And Her Sisters Puppy Rescue as a Steam gift....too scared to play in case the cops show up. Play a lot of Rocket League but that is purely with friends for a laugh.

I am looking forward to playing Alpha Protocol, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and The Witcher series. Bunch of other cRPG's too, but I don't know if I'm prepared to sink 80 hours into multiple games as I still need to finish my Fallout play through and play 2 again as it has been a while. Oh and I have a New Vegas game going. Fuck, I need to focus on one game at a time.

Ginginho: I really liked The Stick of Truth. I am worried the new one is  going to be way too focused on farts, which I can't imagine being funny for an entire game.

  2. I'm not sold on VR either, but I'm pretty sure Bethesda said they were releasing F4 and Skyrim in VR? I suspect the head bob in those games would make me sick within minutes. Don't even want to think about spinning around to face an enemy who is behind me. I'll stick to regular reality for now. Despite how bleak it is.

Anyway, any upcoming games anyone is looking forward to? Any recommendations about games which have already been released? We may have a thread for that but I can't recall it.

Too bad you don't know anyone in Canada that could ship you something.

Yeah that wouldn't go well. Even bongs are illegal here now. Everywhere else is legalising it and we are going the opposite way. We will have medicinal soon...about fucking time.

  4. Yeah it'll cost very little. Already have all the wires going through the power jack in the dash so it'll literally be a case of unplugging the cold cathodes and plugging in the LED strip. I'm just lazy. Also I hate how I'm significantly older than you and you have a cooler car than mine. Dick. Wheels do look nice.

  5. Speaking of mods, I have pink neons under the dash which bathe my feet in a soothing glow. Although some are shattered due to clumsy passengers. I must take pics, but I'm trying to find a camera shitty enough to do this beast justice. Think I may upgrade to a LED strip so I can control the colour and hold discos in the backseat.

I can't compete with Brian when it comes to coolness but I can when it comes to style....well, a certain style.

  6.

I always hated Cazadores more than Nightstalkers, so much harder to hit as their flight is so erratic. Still, they both pale in comparison to the TERRIFYING vampiric bloodbug.

Cazadores are harder one on one, definitely. However a wing shot makes them pretty tame. My issues with Nightstalkers are the noise they make, and the fact they often rush me in groups of up to 8. Probably doesn't help I insist on using melee weapons on them as there is little ammo for my cowboy guns in OWB. Also I like being an axe wielding maniac.

  7. I apologise for ranting about F4. Alcohol, sleeping pills and no cigarettes makes me go kinda crazy. I've seen there's a biker update rumoured to be coming? Could be fun, but there's so little to do in general. Grinding missions isn't fun, and all I do with my buddies when I occasionally play is troll other people. There are better games for trolling. I'd likely have more fun if I had more friends who played on PC. *glares angrily at everyone*

  8. Since we're bragging, I'm still driving the pinnacle of automobiles. 05 Holden Astra (think it's Opel in the UK?). Gold colour, which has faded into random silver racing stripes. The backseat is covered in dog hair, and torn up by said dogs. A few random blood stains, origin unknown. Has some damage as cunts find it funny to crash into it in car parks when I'm not around. Smells of smoke and likely has contraband I've forgotten about stashed in every compartment. A number of burn marks from careless cigarette smoking and other, less savoury reasons. I have upgraded the speakers (total cost $50). All offers must be in cash and no paperwork will be signed as the ancient astronauts are watching me and I need to stay off the radar, if you'll pardon the pun.

I could write a college-worthy thesis on the decline of quality and care in the video game industry, in the past ten years. It is suicidally depressing how shitty this major part of my life has become.

Not to be rude (oh who am I kidding?) but didn't you enjoy Fallout 4? That game is the best example of what you're shitty about. Dumbed down, streamlined bullshit to appeal to the ignorant masses with more money than sense. The video game industry is fucked and I fear there's no coming back since profit supersedes quality. It's fine, I am content playing older games. Just wish I had something to look forward to.

I take it that no, returning to GTA:O isn't worth the effort of loading into a server. A shame.

  10. Haven't played in months. Any of the new updates worth getting back into it? From memory I'm sitting on over $100 million. My main issue is unless my friends feel like playing I find it incredibly dull playing with a bunch of useless proles who shouldn't be allowed a mic.

  11. I found drinking myself into a coma helped me stop for a while. Needless to say that wasn't a long term solution. Best advice is as much exercise as possible to help you sleep, and try to stay as busy as possible so you don't have time to sit around missing it. Oh, and don't lose motivation even if you do relapse. Just try again.

  12. It's how I do most things, but Fallout 3 had the best one. I loaded my file back in 2009 or whatever to find my character crouching in the Behemoth enclosure at the slaver camp, with no idea how that happened. Had to stealth boy my way out. My current New Vegas game is honestly just a blurry haze with Night Stalkers biting me.

finally finished the pearl quest... pretty cool story, found a couple unique items like the red paint can, and the pirate hat... the funny this is tho, i didn't realize i was already wearing one ... i dunno where i got it, but i was wearing the unique variant, the captain's hat... it gives me a walking speed boost, kinda nice...

i'm also reminded constantly why i like longfellow... he calls me cap'n B)...

Nothing better than playing a game drunk, then when you next play sober you have no idea how or why your save is where it is.

  14. Obsidian was really clever with NV. Guys like Avellone and Sawyer worked on F2, so they took what people liked about F3 and gave it the classic Fallout treatment. Hence the amount of skill/SPECIAL checks, quests which involve killing, negotiating, problem solving etc. Multiple ways to finish a quest to the point where the number of finale slides is crazy. Even tiny things you did are mentioned.

I love F1 and 2, but despite the average combat and animations in NV, and the fact a lot wasn't finished (Caesar's Legion was meant to have a lot more. Apparently Ulysses was meant to be an early game companion who drip fed info until he lured you into The Divide), it's probably my favourite Fallout game.

And yeah I'll debate you until one of us dies that F4 isn't an RPG...but skipping dialogue in any game is unforgivable. What's the point? It's like watching the lightsaber fights in Star Wars and announcing you know what was actually going on.

  15. I'm guessing that's the case, but removing skills also killed a lot of the varied dialogue chances. It would have taken longer and been more expensive (I can't believe money is an issue given how well Bethesda games sell) to voice more dialogue options, but they didn't do it for some reason. That said a few friends who love Fallout 4 have told me they skip all dialogue in 3/NV/4 because who cares? So maybe that's why. Not much point putting all the work in if people don't care when you do.

  16. Based on Bethesda's history of pretty decent DLC (F3, Skyrim) I'm stunned there isn't more stuff like Far Harbour. I guess the newer generation of gamers is more interested in pretty flashing lights and wall ornaments?

On the plus side, Todd Howard has admitted the new dialogue system didn't work out as hoped so there's a chance they'll ditch it in future. I want my pages of answers, dammit!

  17. Oh man, you're poking the two-headed bear now. We all know my opinion of F4 is...less than positive, but these DLC's are too much. I've heard Far Harbour is cool while still limited by the complete lack of RPG mechanics. These new ones? Building your own vault? Really? How in the fuck does that make any sense whatsoever? I get it, Bethesda doesn't care but come on.

As for Nuka World my understanding is that in the midst of the Boston Wasteland is a working theme park. Apparently it'll let you be a raider...which doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the story doesn't seem to let you be evil but this is my problem. I keep trying to use logic. I believe it's a theme park you can run with some quests added on, but I'm not certain.

NV DLC was fantastic, and while I don't like F3 as a Fallout game, the DLC was big, varied, and worth playing. I'd be pretty disappointed if I'd bought the season pass.

Also I thought about joining NMA so I could talk Proper Fallout with Proper Fallout People as most of you don't care about my ramblings about NV...all I found was a dead community with a bunch of new 20 year old members endlessly saying F4 sucks and they wish Black Isle never folded. I don't disagree with them but I want to discuss 1, 2 and NV in depth, not concur for the 1000th time that yes, Preston Garvey sucks.

  18. 2 hours into OWB....still haven't been outside. Talking to the Think Tank is just too amusing. This is my first female character, so I wasn't expecting Doctor 8 to give me some microfusion cells to use as a vibrator. Also need to make a priority of getting The Sink running again. I really like that toaster.

  19. Started Old World Blues. I really like Old World Blues. The Sink is also making my double hardcore run easier as I now have a proper home where I can store ammo/food/water/crafting shit in one place, in organised lockers for convenience. Yeah, I'm pathological. Also kinda fun exploring a technological wonderland using .357/.44 magnum weapons. I'm level 19 so it should all be ok, however the Cazadores scare me. Also my Desert Ranger gear is degraded and I can't afford the repair job. Think the stealth suit will be my first goal...may also help my loneliness.
