That's most likely an impact point. Something small like a shopping trolley etc. At the time you see no damage but it cracks the clear coat. After time the edges of the crack dry out and discolour.

You'll never colour match a car more than a year or two old. If you do the bumper it will be a slighly different colour as the paint on the car will have faded slightly.

I haven't tried any legendary ships. Not yet anyway. The further south on the map the bigger the ships. (at least according to the hint on the loading screen) I like the ship battles too. mostly when I am outnumbered and you have to use the Jackdaws speed to out maneuver them. This has kept me coming back to it after finishing the story. also I want the templar suit.

Depends on the ship. Some of them are carrying heaps more than others. Use the spyglass and it tells you what their cargo is. I have collected 150ish wood from a single ship.
