kristo 12 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 My concern now is - if it's all on one disk (360), where do they cut corners? This is ENORMOUS. Skyrim is 6gb's if I'm correct? at 14.3 miles squared. it'll be 2 discs... maybe 3... but hopefully[ if R* are clever ] 2 disc install and 1 disc play. don't think they can fit it on 2 discs when thinking about size, details, little things, coding etc etc... and definitely not on one disc. never. Anywho I am kinda disappointed by what i read about the game. Why not go back to the ps2 ways as far as Gangs/recruting gangsters. That's what made San andreas so great. Idk about this game now =/. Were you seriously expecting San Andreas II? Obviously it wasn't going to be centered around the same thing as San Andreas.
dragoonpanzer 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Well yea i guess i was expecting another san andreas. or atleast something like it. Im just not diggin the Bold old dudes. Tommy vercetti , Carl johnson, hell even Vic vance where young, energetic and cool. They had a persona about them which made gameplay hella fun. But the 2 bold dudes...idk man. I like the whole "Hood" theme about Los santos in SA. the business theme in San f..and the dessert/casino theme about los van. went well together That and the RPG elements Muscle/Fat.. and cloths. I love the ability to switch cloths in SA..in GTA 4 it was very very limited.n which sucked.
Asthenia 138 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 You know, Saints Row still does that. It might not be as good but it's damn fun. This is Rockstar's direction now. Get used to it. I can't believe people are complaining about petty shit. It's Grand Theft Auto, not Grand Gang Bangers At The Gym.
TenpennyKilla 34 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 I'm not gonna lie, little disappointed vis-a-vis character customisation and buying property, and did notice that car customisation wasn't mentioned. But overall I have to say I'm quite excited about the game, I wasn't sure about multiple protags, but Rock* have pulled it off before (RDR and, to a lesser extent, L.A. Noire) and like the idea of them all being from different classes (All hail America's classless society!), but it does raise the question of how you'll "advance" in terms of better safehouses, etc.

Too many people stuck in the past wanting the same recycled gameplay. Rockstar innovate. People that have the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'attitude go play call of duty or some shit, and stopping filling this thread with negative comments. You're entitled to your opinion, but I couldn't give a shit about it...
BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 ^I read the gooing to the gym part, you sure there is no muscle gain. They said it would be impossible for it to look right with all 3 characters and all the animations and clothing. It was easier to do with SA because the graphics were more forgiving. I still dont know if it was impossible. I mean, saints row you could be a skinny ass chick or a big fat guy and those extremes was a lot more than the differences between the 3 protags. Not that I give a shit about working out or getting fat. Saints Row 2 & 3 have pretty shit graphics compared to GTA. And other open world titles. I was pretty disappointed with the overall texturing of character models in Saints Row 3.
Asthenia 138 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Exactly, Dup. I like to go batshit insane from time to time and I do that in Saints Row, but tbh I'd still rather play The Ballad of Gay Tony. To be honest, a part of me would like to see how a HD universe San Andreas would go, but I think a lot of it would be out of place. We're not playing with canvasses any more - we're playing with fully formed characters and we're being told bigger stories.
Rayge 689 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 the gangbanging aspect of GTA has passed, however it might come up in a future title again, since there is only so much the game can be about. Plus, it is one of the stories that was really popular with the consumers, it would definitely sell well with a HD version of GTA based off 'gang culture' such as San Andreas. BlackSox9 448 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Hello guys. Long time, no post. I have been watching all the threads though, but I wasn't posting because I'm that lazy. Anyway, something bugs me and I wanted to ask you, maybe you paid more attention than me. Is there a mention about the dog (or animals in general) in the magazine? I've read it briefly but I was too excited to pay attention to everything. There was nothing about animals in GI's preview. But Rockstar previously mentioned that animals would feature in GTA V. But to what extent no one really knows yet.

We know there will be dogs, they talked about it in the GI interview actually (something about a dog barking as someone goes past in reference to the high detail of the dynamic world)

It's even weirded when they release an artwork with one of the protagonists next to a dog and then act like they that never happened. I hope in the second trailer they will clear this out. edit: Thank Marcus.. so that pretty much confirms that dogs are in the game but they still don't mention if they are a ''weapon'' or a security method for properties or just a pet. You never know, they may re-use the GTA5 world as the basis of a 'gang culture' DLC (in a similar way to the how liberty city was reused for TLAD & TBOGT). But for now, I'm happy with what we've been shown

Yeah the dog part was when they were talking about being able to zoom right into the city and still see small details. A dog left in a front porch barking at you as you pass or something. Grizzly 9 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Deffinite mention on dogs, have a feeling there was a mention of birds also. Cant get to grips with why people are complaining about map size and the other features. Multiple protags, understandable that people are weary. But really. Twitter blew up with people saying, 'the maps rediculous. RIP GTA'. And even some saying the attention to detail will be too much. Really? I for one cannot wait. BrandonFloyd 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 VG247.com says "Stay tuned for our massive feature on GTA 5 later today." And that was posted today. So, is new information coming or are they just going to discuss what is already know because they've already talked about the cover story in another section of their web page so why would they talk about it again, right? Yes, they did talk about dogs in the GI and they appeared on artwork and in the first trailer. SO there is reason to believe animals like dogs, cats, maybe deer roaming the woods could appear in the game. Which would be awesome!
Samurai_tbag 27 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 I'm pretty shocked there's been such a backlash to be honest. Why would there be gangbanging a-la early 90's LA in the modern day LA. The criminal culture has changed, and R* have reflected that. But saying that, I'm not sure whether or not I'm too happy about the multiple protagonists. I feel like it may ruin the character development and player involvement with the world, perhaps making it feel a little detatched, like other openworld games. Also, it seems to have come at some cost - i.e. limited character customisation, no property purchasing, etc... But who knows, R* have yet to let me down, and I'm sure they won't start now. We'll soon find out either way. Also, is anyone else a bit confused by their mention of the detailed ocean floor? I don't really see how that's interesting or important in anyway? I think that'd we'd all prefer to have property purchasing, as opposed to a detailed coral reef to look at. But meh :/
