I stand corrected. Still should be same area in-game.
@Dup: It wasn't a bad placement but yeah I've been staring at it a lot so I'm getting a bearing on where things should be.
Here's a glimpse at where I think the post card could be. I used your colors for the buildings:
Notes:
- City Hall (Gallier Hall) is next to a park in real life (where the Clay statue was moved to)
- I put in dashed black lines for the streetcars. Good portion is guesswork.
- Still can't quite place where the bank would be with the previously mentioned building across the street and street cars running by. It could be to the left of the lower Xs in that standalone building. The billiards hall would be just above the second X.
- I also put in what is likely the French Market on the right. The triangular shape and proximity to the railroad and waterfront seems like an obvious place.

In between frying my brain trying to line things up, I am doing a little historical New Orleans research of my own (since I like that stuff). I'm not entirely sure the post card is where Dup thinks it is and have been trying to find a better location but the in-game map from the trailer is almost useless to find out where the street cars are. The building footprints are also more basic.
The building in the background of this robbery shot has similar architecture to the H.B. Stevens & Co building (with a bit of the Crescent Billiard Hall next door):
^They are the two buildings all the way on the left. The third building is the Robinson theatre previously mentioned. So assuming that is correct, there is a chance the bank is nearby the statue and others.
And on the subject of the statue as a reference point, it wasn't in any special area in real life. It was plopped down in the middle of a wide street. Not even at the end:

So a department store, theater, and city hall. I guess the bank is one of the Xs.
And yes, gray is placeholder/guesswork. Didn't see your question before. If you want to fill it in/change it that's fine. I was more or less trying to match the minimap style.

Still better than what I have.

Tweaked the tracks a little because of OCD. And widened it up:
Do you have a good (unperspectived) version of St Denis? I did some basic stuff in PS with the map from the gameplay trailer but's still quite off compared to the red map section. Even in the middle parts that should be relatively flat.

Problem is how generic the lines are. No unique peaks. It could be anywhere.

We always had scans in the image gallery. No one ever bitched to take them down.

Strawberry:
And a closer look: I was trying to line up the wavy roads on the left with the leaked map (and the other roads around Strawberry + river) but they don't quite match. More map changes I would assume.
The wavy roads on the leaked map are softer/wider. The official map is taller/skinnier.

Had to look at that for a bit to figure it all out. Very cool.

What?

I guess I can. There isn't much to go on with Strawberry and the others. Like 2 known buildings and a bunch of unknown.

^Previews (new and old) have mentioned the lasso. There's no way they wouldn't put that in the game. I assume the Dastardly trophy/achievement will return.

Rattle Snakes mentioned in previews. Not that we didn't expect them...
-
Points I got out of the previews:
- You can play in first-person mode
- Clean your horse to increase it's stats
- Horses don't last forever - take care of them, including a pat on the head
- The interaction menu includes dogs
- Can interact with everyone (a basic conversation at the least), some lead to side quests
- Talk your way out of trouble - for small infractions, at least
- Small decisions now can lead to more things later
- "Deluxe wash" at inns...
- Weapons need to be maintained to work properly
- Animal skinning is not off camera
- Honor/notoriety system returns
- Cinematic camera can "auto-walk" you to a waypoint so you can enjoy the scenery
- Map is constrained to the snowy mountains only for the first "section" so you can get used to everything
- Killcam from Max Payne - watch your final enemy fall in glorious cinematic
- Upgraded Dead-Eye can show weak points on enemies such as the heart or brain
- Time will pass in the game including buildings under contruction
- Tents can be "upgraded" to become fast-travel points
- There is an in-game camera you can take selfies with
- You can steal the trains and even blow the whistle
- Pay off your own bounties at a post office
- Grow out your hair and beard if you like - no magic haircuts at the barber
- Clothing is completely customizable even rolling up sleeves - dressing for the weather is a good idea too
- Arthur can gain/lose weight among other stats such as stamina
- Horse testicals shrink or expand with temperature... yeah... (via Kotaku)
Also holy shit that's a lot of German sites.

From IGN's preview:
QuoteAt one point, I rode up to an old man watching two younger men building the frontage of a house. The old man told me how these were his sons, that he thought teaching them how to build their own home would build characters, and that, sadly, they were awful at it. As if to prove a point, the frame of the house promptly fell on and killed me. Unintentional comedy aside, Rockstar points out that, over time, this house will become more developed, and the old man will have more to say, emphasising how long you’ve spent with Arthur.
It’s not clear how long will pass in the course of the campaign, or how extensive those changes will be (could we see towns grow to reflect the progress of the 19th Century west?) but it seems that story missions will be what initiates a time jump.

*cough* new topic *cough*Not that many people will see this but I think it sums up our thoughts:
QuoteBeta. Not a word we're used to when discussing Rockstar Games. The company was always about delivering a finished product - even at the cost of multiple delays. But for everyone that experienced the launch of GTA Online, it was obvious Rockstar Games was a little too ambitious for their own capability. GTAO took months to become stable and even then it was still a rocky road. Nearly five years on and it still has some bugs but for the most part it works aside from modders sneaking in.
But for Red Dead Online, Rockstar has conceded that it will take time to get it right and have officially announced it as a beta release in November 2018.
There isn't much else in the official announcement but Rockstar gave IGN an exclusive Q&A about it. Again, there isn't much. More or less "this will be like GTAO for Red Dead" and "GTAO will continue after RDO". Why I didn't do this earlier is beyond me...
Which raises more questions about that other island in the leaked map with Haitian names.
Edit: this chick cooking beans was the best example of the pronounciation I could find:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgEW7u0bfhY
She says "nwah" as I suspected. Another video actually spelled it "noir" (which is French for black).

I think Strawberry and the mountain are the only "ah-ha!" spots. We kind of knew where the swamp was. The others we already figured out.

-
Maybe you say it like Noire "Noh-ah" -> "Nwah"
-
Looking back at the leaked map, we got all the green locations except Van Horn (as far as the new areas). Strange.
edit: ^lol I got those anyway.

Looking at Rhodes, I didn't do too bad. An extra building (doctor office) next to the jail and a better look at the mill.
