I'm trying to find where they got those high-res pics from. These were obviously cropped to remove most of the paint scrape textures but I'd rather upload the full images to iRD.

They definitely narrowed the river between the game world and the outer regions to the east. I wouldn't use it as a reference point. But for that location there isn't much else to use as landmarks to match up with the leak map.

Maybe the next Red Dead will have realistic trail creation from everyone driving over the same spots all the time.

@dup: I was going to say the same as vicey above. At first I thought the scale was ridiculously smaller than we thought but now I'm leaning towards them shifting things around from the leak map. They either moved the river/bridge or shoved those trails and formations over. Unless there is something else we aren't seeing right now.
After vicey's edit: I don't think that's a rail line since it bends wildly off to the right. I think that's just a major road they added since the leak map.

Yeah didn't see it. What you have in blue is what I was looking at originally but came to the conclusion it was just trees next to another rock cliff. Even the red I don't think is actually something.

Seems way too close to be Downes. Even Lucky's Cabin should be further back into the trees.

RE Water tower: Very possible. There shouldn't be too many water towers in the middle of nowhere.

Added frogs from the game reactor extended preview.

I had gone back and forth with that bear vs wolves shot over whether the falls were a small unknown river or the far end of the Dakota as most thought.
To me it seemed to fit better around where you put it in the middle of the Dakota (I was looking more east though) but figured it was just the camera angle that made it seem like there was more river to the right and it was just the bend we see on the leak map.

I knew about it from piecing together the regions for the last game before Rockstar released ^that official full map. I also had the compass directly north (which I'm pretty sure is how it is in-game) but changed it to match the official orientation.
And again it doesn't really matter. The red map pieces and the mini-map from the trailers all line up with North directly upwards.

I also doubt an HD remake as far as redemption's story.
If they put mexico in then there must be a reason story-wise. So I wonder what we'll do there and how they'll intertwine it into the original story. I doubt they really knew what a prequel was going have as far as people or actions but maybe they left just enough open-ended-ness to allow them some wiggle room.

@vicey I wanted to do that for gtav but it wasn't working right. Would be cool. Although we are only 24 days away so might not be worth the effort.

My idea(s) for that newer wide shot across Roanoke...
brown=roads/trails, yellow=train
I was trying to trace out lines of any type I could see and from there attempt to place the train tracks (assuming they still exist in this area). What I came up with is very similar to the leak map but definitely with differences.
