  1. Updated maps. I'll probably continue to tweak them as usual for a week or so... Rhodes: Saint Denis:
  2. Some less obvious ones now... ^Long-ass bridge must be the one near Lone Mule Stead going towards Horseshoe Overlook. Scenery fits. ^Pretty sure these are the Kerosene and Tar place. Note "No Smoking" sign on the tanks. ^Definitely Kerosene and Tar place. Says it on the sign to the right. ^South side of Valentine. Lawyer building on left, gun shop is right of that. Shack next to Keane's Saloon on far right in background. ^I'm 99% sure where these go on the map for St Denis. ^Bacchus Bridge ^Rhodes. Using the stack of what-looks-like-tires to the right of the small house, it appears to be the same house from the opening train scene. The train tracks in this pic are on the left along the wire poles just out of view due to the hill. You can see this hill in the opening scene once Arthur climbs up onto the train roof. ^Annesburg. First shot is the top of the tipple. Then the first person view is them going up the hill beyond. ^Doesn't appear to be Armadillo or Valentine for that matter. Even Tumbleweed doesn't look like it would fit back-in-the-day. So it's either one of the other places we have yet to really see or in that Mexico/whatever-island. update 2 hours later: I'm going to hate the St Denis map until we get the full thing... ^Note the bank location. It matches the middle X on the heist map. That or someone finally un-bends the whole thing. I was trying to find the edges of the polygons but it appears to be more detailed than one would think:
  3. *takes easy one* ^Grizzlies (duh). The minimap trail doesn't quite line up with the trails the orange line hits so I assume it's one of the trails under the purple text.
  4. 105 screeencaps: http://www.ireddead.com/images/
  5. I spent more time looking at the locations than the actual gameplay. "oh look it's Rhodes" ... "oh shit St Denis!" etc etc @Dup I put links to the different resolutions in the trailer topic.
  6. I like how they were pointing everyone to YT which has an age gate instead of their own site which does not. https://videos.rockstargames.com/v3/reddeadredemption2-rasgp2-en_us-720p.mp4 https://videos.rockstargames.com/v3/reddeadredemption2-rasgp2-en_us-1080p.mp4 https://videos.rockstargames.com/v3/reddeadredemption2-rasgp2-en_us-2160p.mp4
  7. I assume this will be a scene in the gameplay trailer tomorrow ("today" for everyone east of the Atlantic) but if not we have another shot of Rhodes: Looks like a graveyard back-left which makes sense since the funeral home is there on the left.
  8. New gameplay trailer tomorrow 9 AM Eastern US.
  9. The streetcars are definitely Saint Denis. The bank shown may or may not be. Yes they are likely two different sides of the same building. The post card being the westside, the robbery being the southside. The blue in the post card pic is not the billiard hall. It's the building with the arch (Fontana Theatre).
  10. Update: I think I got this now... Pretty sure these buildings are the same (Crescent Billiard Hall) for the reasons shown (support pole and railing style): So that means the streetcar station is probably the small building next to the streetcar loop: Something I was thinking previously but needed a link. Now I have one. I will note that there is no X on the robbery map at this location so maybe this is a completely different heist. And as for the previously mentioned Fontana Theatre I may have found the inspiration for that right where we were already looking. There is a structure very similar to it next to the billiards hall just like in-game: ^On the left https://www.google.com/maps/@29.9526961,-90.0694841,3a,75y,301.53h,125.3t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1swch1MQmADknR0fBiAGamqA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 The place in real life is 119 St Charles Ave. Formerly "The Pearl Restaurant and Oyster Bar". The in-game structure does not have balconies, though. And while trying to find more historical photos of the place, I found this drawing that shows the building in question was a lot shorter way back when (unknown date, but the columned building was detroyed by fire in 1894): ^Billiard hall on the right. edit: wiki has a photo of the same circa 1885-1894: It had more floors in 1910, though (far right barely in view):
  11. Just a quick note that the ESRB does not have a rating for the game on their site (yet). The PEGI site fucks up whenever I try to search and their twitter account hasn't posted anything since March 10th. For comparison GTA V was rated by the ESRB a month and a half before release. https://www.igta5.com/gta-v-rated-mature We're well inside a month now. Rockstar's site says ESRB Mature so it's weird the ESRB site does not have it. I saw a lot of "has Red Dead Redemption 2 gone gold?" comments in the reddit comments. Looking back at GTA V, the game was announced as going gold on August 23rd or 24th. 24 days or around 3.5 weeks before release on September 17th. https://www.igta5.com/grand-theft-auto-v-has-gone-gold
  12. Going back to St Denis, a few things of note... Using the clean screenshot: http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1571.jpg The streetcar says "Crescent St" on the front panels. New Orleans is nicknamed "The Crescent City". The lower section of the side appears to say " ___???___ Ave to Crescent St". The blue building on the far right with the arch says "Fontana Theatre". Still looking for a real building that matches it. edit: see next post We also get a better look to the left showing more of the industrial building (forgot to mention that previously as part of the reasoning for choosing my location guess on the map). Can see a small park too. Notice beyong the park just in front of the industrial building is a fenced in area. Kind of fits my guess as well when looking at the in-game map (the yellow line almost points to it): And going back to the robbery from trailer 3, I'm starting to think the first two shots are not actually the bank and the bank may not actually be Saint Denis: http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1180.jpg http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1179.jpg ^This lobby looks a little small especially for a big city bank but not a disqualifier. Noteworthy is the horse right outside the doors back-right. The windows in the middle appear to show other buildings a short distance away. So this building itself is relatively small or skinny. Another giveaway of that is the roof pitch you can see along the top. Could've been mistaken for a vaulted ceiling of an interior room but instead is likely the actual roof of the building. Now the known bank: http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1178.jpg ^Note the difference of interior decor/style compared to the previous. You could say it's a different robbery stitched with the previous entrance but Javier is wearing the exact same outfit. So they are probably different locations of the same robbery. The in-game map shows multiple Xs marked out so they are likely different parts/stops they make. BUT when looking at the very first frames of this scene, you can see what appears to read "Valentine Savings Bank" on the right. So is this actually in Valentine or is that a chain of banks with this one in Saint Denis? The very next scene in the trailer is Valentine with the possible bank on the right: Hmmm... Something else I want to add is this Saint Denis screenshot which may or may not be related to the robbery we saw in the trailer: http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1505.jpg But if it is actually related... What if they steal a streetcar as a getaway vehicle? May not be as fast as a horse but likely offers more protection on the move. Sort of like the bulldozer in the Paleto Bay Heist. The clothing Arthur wears in ^that^ screenshot is the same as the planning scene so these two may be directly related: http://www.ireddead.com/img/content/1343.jpg This got me thinking that the robbery entrance scene was actually a streetcar (and/or train) station. You can see plenty of benches with people waiting and even luggage so that makes sense. I'm still looking for small stations that match what we saw but not having much luck. (I did find this one that's almost a match for the building behind Arthur above but the train station is actually in Tennessee...) With all that, the Saint Denis robbery might not actually be a bank but instead multiple smaller heists that they do in one shot. One being a train/streetcar station. A preview mentioned the early train robbery we undertake in the mountains and says how the trains are owned by the oil baron Leviticus Cornwall. Stealing from him/his company early on could be a recurring theme throughout the story about them being enemies of the Cornwall railroad. We've definitely seen a few different train robberies. Some on the move and others at a stop. Food for thought.
  13. "Only on PlayStation" - let the fanboy fuckfests begin.
  14. I wonder if you can get a double-animal-kill for shooting both of them out of the sky with one shot....
  15. Could also be stilt/pier buildings along the water.
  16. Cool beans. edit: Added to gallery. The Insider ones go up to 1500 wide. I found the Valetine pic at 1200 wide. http://www.ireddead.com/images/ edit2: Valentine un-postcarded one might just be rescaled of the 1000 wide pic. Blurry.
  17. Will be interesting to see if they somehow link WE to the new map with trains. The storyline they'd have to make up as to why it wasn't in the first game should be entertaining. I think they'll just find an excuse for the lines not to connect. More simple.
  18. Redemption technically started in Blackwater before dropping you in New Austin (west). Then Mexico (south), and then West Elizabeth again (northeast). Kind of circular but you still move back and forth. I'm not sure Redemption 2 actually starts in Blackwater. The prologue is that they had a robbery there but fled to the mountains. I think that that's where it actually starts. We'll see. They've done a few games where you start with a robbery (playable or cinematic) that goes bad and sets up the story. GTA3 and GTAV being the ones that we know well.
  19. But where's the first desert shot? They have a starting point.
  20. And GTAV was around 60. Up to 75 or so with DLC. I know audio usually takes up a large chunk so the size might be more with the NPC interactions and story stuff. They might push the details of the world further since there is a lot less going on in RDR compared to GTAV. I really don't think the large file size is directly map-size related.
  21. Not the GTAV one (although GTA V might have been on this building too).
  22. Get the Nuevo Paraiso DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2! Revisit the amazing cultural landscape south of the border that you only saw in the one mission! Or: Get the Gila Monster skin for RDR$100,000! Hunt down every animal in Red Dead Redemption 2 for their pelts to trade in or purchase a GRIZZLYCARD to get instant access!
  23. That was a quick update... Not that it's a bad thing just wasn't expecting it. The fox one looks like a painting.
  24. @Dup: Just switch the streecar colors. gray = guess Otherwise awesome.
  25. My brain is basically done with this so for now here is Saint Denis: For the most part the building outlines are guesses since the robbery map generalized everything. Streetcar route guess is gray dashed lines. Parts from the red map (that I'm pretty sure are the street car) are black. ------------------------------------------------------------ And aside from the recent screens/post card and the gameplay trailer robbery I think this is the only other definite Saint Denis image: Building in the back left is the only reference point. Not sure if this is a park or cemetery. There's a couple spots on the map with open areas that could fit.
