  1. wow, that's a pretty crappy offer for non-PS+ users... it's great news for me but for the rest of you, 30 days may be nice but, after the 30 days is up, you lose access to those games unless you sign up for a membership... for me, i get an extra month on top of a service that i do plan on re-upping when it's time... it's a win for me!! i think the only way it would be a win for non-plus members is if there happens to be an exclusive beta and demo this month...

xbox patch is now out... but i am reading some grumblings in the comments section of the vault... apparently the patch is causing a good majority of save files to become corrupt, especially those that are currently saved in dead money... i'll load my junk save that is in the vault to see if i get a corrupt message but, i didn't get any errors with my evil chick, delilah... so, i guess what i am trying to say is, install with "caution"...
  3. *does nothing while he waits for the news to update... turns on netflix via his PS3, watches king of the hill*
  4. i hope that when i log back in, it doesn't try to log me in as CaptainBones... if it does, so long as i can sync my trophies up to them, i'll be OK but, i will be upset if i do lose my "artistadam" moniker because, i'll lose all of my download history and my playstation plus subscription... if that happens, i am about to have to deal with a lengthy sony dispute myself ...

made changes to my post, didn't see that you already posted, lol... i have noticed the game runs more smoothly now... everything seems to flow much better...

umm, how did they get their hands on the PS3 trophies? the network is down and they haven't even released the patch yet!! in other words though, it does sound like this might be an open-world map like you said... and it may say "evacuate zion" but, i think there is a couple of other locations, like new canaan... zion nation park could just be a tribe hangout... or not, it seems like zion is the name of the area you explore... hmm... EDIT: wow, nevermind!! i fired up new vegas to see if the patch would take and it did!! didn't even need the network!! and there's the trophies!! i think i'll test out the new patch, travel to a couple of areas i had problems with, see if they've fixed the freezing issue a bit... EDIT2: OMG, the pew pew is now my favorite energy weapon due to the much lower ammo consumption!! EDIT3: ehh, the YCS187 is still more effective... also, i haven't noticed any drastic frame rate drops... the game seems to pause very briefly when dealing with a bunch of stuff on the screen but, after that quick pause, it runs fairly smooth... the game does pause very briefly now when i change weapons, which could also be the result of dealing with the weapons glitches, haven't experienced one yet... and the areas that locked up constantly pre-patch now work just fine... bravo, obsidian and bethesda... now hows about we get an honest hearts trailer this week, hmm??
  7. http://www.vg247.com/2011/04/26/l-a-noire-allows-gamers-to-skip-portions-if-they-fail-so-many-times/ apparently you can skip portions of the game if you keep failing it... not sure why you'd ever want to do that, this seems like a game in which you don't want to miss anything!!
  8. "LA" noire being shown at a "NY" film festival?! but in all seriousness, i'd love to see some information on the event since they may have just opened the doors for video games to be treated the same as films... i even heard a rumor that there will now be a video game soundtrack category for whatever award show it is that gives out awards for that kind of thing...
  9. damn, i thought my numbers were tons better than that... comcast internet is surprisingly very good... i don't have the top internet package but, i thought the numbers would be a little better than that... if only their TV service was good... it fucking blows, i'm not paying $50 for shitty channels and horrible service... but for the internet, yea, i'll pony up what it costs...
  10. i just now got to the reyes missions... i got a ways to go yet...
  11. Hmm, never really been one for bothering with Trophies, it's just that L.A. Noire looks likely to get me interested for the first time. if you've never cared for them, why start now all of a sudden??
  12. WTF marney?? you don't know how the trophy system works?? earn a trophy, earn a hundred trophies... as soon as you go online and sync your trophy list, it updates online... your system is always the main host for the trophies... online only knows of them if you sync them... if you don't sync and your system crashes, you lose them forever... if you did sync before your PS3 bricked, you can restore your trophies the next time you log into your account... i had to do the latter when i upgraded my hard drive...
  13. i still have a huge tote of LEGOS in my basement... i took them when i moved out of the parents so i could one day break them out and build something... i've lived here for like 6 or 7 years and still haven't broke them out... hmmm... nah, i kind wanna play RDR right now... i am really having fun playing this ruthless badass... the problem is the missions take me away from the evil feeling... as soon as i reach blackwater, i'll stop doing the missions...
  14. this is just a preview of what would happen if the actual internet went down... no one would know what to do... they would look up survival tips but then realize that they can't google it... it's moments like this that make gamers look bad... how about playing some single player, or actually go outside and do something meaningful instead??? this downtime hasn't bothered me, i can still use neflix on my laptop, which is just about the only reason i go online anymore... plus, it's given me an excuse to fire up RDR and play some of that... maybe i'll get back to my "FPS-A-THON" this evening and play some more resistance... seriously, these tools on the playstation blog need to play some single player and shut the hell up... PSN is a free service, you have no right to bitch when it goes down... if this was xbox live it would be a different story...
  15. i swear i have the exact same camo shorts...
  16. is it back up?? i won't be trying to log in fer another 18 or so hours so, i was just wondering...

http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?showtopic=1181744&st=0 here's the latest news in case you weren't watching the vault... the new patch is about to hit the PC in a few days, and probably the networks within the week... i spot a couple of good tweaks and then a flipping great tweak to melee, ignoring DR/DT for the chainsaw, making it just plain nasty in the right hands... also, this was found on the information superhighway via the vault; "A promotional image for the upcoming Honest Hearts DLC has been found on Xbox live. Users can find the image by searching for Fallout: New Vegas on the Game Marketplace, and then selecting Fallout: New Vegas Teaser Trailer (HD). The picture in the top-right corner will change to a banner showing the Honest Hearts logo and a man with bandages covering his nose and mouth, likely to be the infamous Joshua Graham, also known as the Burned Man. " well, duh... but fucking cool nonetheless...
  18. That's actually not a bad idea. R* could get into the war game market via RDR. I think most people's problem with Jack was his voice. Looked ~20 by the end but his voice was still childish. Didn't match up to me. Wiki says he was 16 and then 19 which seems right. 3 years but his voice just never matures. maybe he could pick up smoking in the army and develop a deep raspy voice?? then he'd sound cool... but R* trying out the WW-days would probably be a nice refreshing approach to the genre... the saboteur brought a new and interesting angle and i bet R* would take the same approach, albeit, from a different angle of course ...
  19. is it possible to come back to a witness after gathering the proper evidence to slam it in their face after you've already talked to them, or is it that once you fail that speech check, the option is eliminated and you have to move on?? i say this because i get this feeling that i will be heading back to the crime scenes often to re-gather evidence to throw back at someone... make sense?? lol, sorry... like dup, i have to make GTA references because hey, it does resemble GTA... did you try out the car horns?? do you get to hear the infamous "aaaauuuuuuugggaaaahhh" car horn?? ... are there shops to visit that aren't linked to investigations?? like the very first burger shot or something?? ...or the local tailor to fit me for a new suit?? did you mess around with the outfits in the game?? are they set up similar to the way RDR handle them?? find this evidence/finish this quest to unlock suit... and does each suit offer a minor skill to aid in your investigations similar to the way RDR's outfits offered perks?? lol, my questions seem like the ones you ask politicians, multi-layered... sorry...
  20. 95?! wow, that's a pretty impressive number for a game that doesn't have cars as it's focal point... this is no GTA, yet R* still wants to deliver plenty of options as always... 1) how was the driving?? did it "feel" like GTA except with more weight?? i loved GTAIV's real-world physics and had a blast driving all sorts of vehicles around... will it feel like i was driving a cognoscenti minus the reckless killing?? 2) how did the shootouts feel, did you have any of those?? was the cover system decent, did the guns feel responsive?? 3) did the game get harder the more that you had to investigate and bounce around the map, losing leads and messing things up?? or did it just become longer and tedious instead?? i guess i was figuring that the more you took the hard route, the harder the game made the action... i am jealous that you get to experience these things man... you're one of the few that get this kind of star treatment from the industry itself and i love that R* embraces the fanbase like they do... you represent a GTA fanbase, yet got VIP trips for RDR and LA noire as well... how cool is that??

    Portal 2

it's a rental for me, someday this summer... it never interested me but, i have a friend that owns it for the PC and i'd love to try out the cross-platform online... but i am not really interested in the game itself...
  22. i didn't even really like dragons age once i got to the end ... i gave it a shot and came away not impressed when it was all said and done... so much so that i don't even want to play DA2... the world felt like lord of the rings and quite honestly started to annoy me after i reached level 15... i like sci-fi fantasy, which is why i am interested in playing mass effect 2... but i am not into the dungeon and dragons kind of world much anymore... too geeky for me i guess...
  23. i'll explain my reasoning once again for the new board because it is NOT just fallout with swords for me, not even close... i don't really like the whole swords and elves fantasy games all that much to begin with, i just don't get into that kind of fantasy world... i like my fantasy games grounded in reality, or in space... i mean come on, there's lizard people and cat people, WTF?!? plus, i didn't really like oblivion and i am very selective when it comes to RPG's because of it... but i am not going to toss skyrim to the side because of my experience with oblivion, i am willing to wait it out and see if it grows on me... just because i am not enamored over it, doesn't mean i am not interested in it... i am holding judgment for a much later date... like near release...
  24. i've read a couple previews in the past few days about this game... while i am quite impressed with what i have read, really impressed to be honest, and the pictures i have seen are amazing, but i am still not sure if i really want to play this... i am just not sure if this is the world i want to be a part of... now, there might not be much else in the way of new releases when this comes out so, that could factor into the decision... but lets just say it's not high on my list...
