  1. surprisingly, i am quite adept at sneaking apparently... i hadn't realized it until a couple levels ago but i am actually improving my sneaking skills because i crouch-walk a lot... it's an old habit from fallout, that way i can tell when i've been spotted... so i've used a few perk upgrades on sneak... i think i have the 50% less noise from armor perk, or is that a heavy armor perk?? either way, i am getting closer to my goal of being one of those types that scout the room, then charge in taking out the most problematic enemies first... i am close to being able to dictate who and where i go when i enter a room... right now i just kind of run out there and face it head-on...
  2. are you for REAL?!?! i have almost an entire row of books on my bookshelf of those... damn!!! *is about to read some books once i finally finish this quest that passed a few locations on the way* speaking of locations on the way to a quest, i ran across this cave of bandits with probably the best ring for my character yet... better yet, this ring isn't even on the wikia... http://elderscrolls....ight&fulltext=0 score!!! i was using a 15% sneak ring, but now i think i will add more strength to my tank... i am starting to just whip right thru caves at level 11, going on 12... i've taken down another dragon that spawned just outside of whiterun, right near where i slayed another... could this be the front gate to megaton all over again?!?! i've done a lot of smithing and ore collecting since my last post... i've made some food and tried some ingredients to see what they do... hell, a friend stopped by to collect his winnings from the fantasy football league (stoic knows about it, the lepers won).... i was out exploring at the time and was letting him dictate the action, within reason of course... no murderous rampage, i can barely handle a few enemies at once... it was fun, he even had fun watching it unfold... i was out hunting and killed a few mammoths, some sabers, plenty of elk and wolf, a couple giants and a bunch of bandits... even non-gamers like skyrim ...

    Fallout

wow, whipped right through the main quest i see... no time to savior it, straight to business ... yea, i would of hoped that you got the game of the year edition, as it's now probably the same price as the one without the DLC... then you could of done all the side quests after beating it...
  4. i do pick up any potion i find... i just wasn't able to keep all of them until i got my own place... but yea, they sit in that chest, in the alchemy lab i never use... i know once the game's difficulty kicks it up a notch, i might need those resist fire/frost potions... i have yet to see the fabled ice troll from the slideshows in between loads... but maybe today i might try to craft some shit... wouldn't hurt to at least see what i can do... is it possible to create health potions?? EDIT: am i the only one that finds moving objects in skyrim to not work the way you want it to?? in fallout, it was super easy to move and place objects... i can't get swords to go into the racks, and i can't get items to sit upright... fucking blows...
  5. i've worn that helmet for 75% of my time in skyrim... i wear heavy armor and so far it's the only heavy armored helmet i've come across... and now that i have my own house, i don't have all those worthless potions in my inventory anymore... seriously, the health and stamina ones are the only ones i've used thus far... the fus ro one applies now though ... i haven't gotten the third part yet... and i did get offered a quest by the jarl of whiterun's wizard, but i had already cleaned out that cave, so my character just said, "what, this stone??" and ended that quest just as soon as i received it ... ------------ home from work, now it's time to smoke down, make a drink, and take a trip to, umm... wherever the wind takes me i guess... i was thinking of going to riften, but i am not sure what i want to do right now...
  6. i like to surpise the enemy... make a noise to get their attention, then run out of the tunnel swinging the maces... i don't even use a shield, i am hardcore... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  7. seems like everyone is playing a stealthy archer/theif character... am i the only playing as a badass "run at the enemy" type of character?! my archery sucks for the most part, i am better at swinging my dual-wielded maces... i still keep a bow with me though... my whiterun house is fully pimped out now, and loaded full of stuff i've collected... i made it to the top of high hrothgar last night before i stopped playing... i might use this as an opportunity to go on my own path as i have for the most part, tried to stay near the main quest... i think i am ready to head in the opposite direction, like to riften or something... it's rare to be over-encumbered nowadays with my house to store stuff in... i went thru a cave and by the time i reached the end, i still had a good 5 lbs or space left... i am loving the feeling of not having to worry about my inventory anymore... one of the caves i explored last night was full of vampires, yet i never contracted the virus... i still healed at a shine just to be on the safe side ... but i was shocked that i didn't turn into a vampire, i got knocked around pretty good down there... slayed my first dragon outside the main story as well... i was fast-traveling to a mine i had past up earlier in my journey when the roar was heard above me... the music starts and now i've got a dragon to fight... yea, i died a few times before i finally figured out what i was doing wrong... almost lost lydia too, but she provided enough distraction so i was able to take it down... almost fought another one on my way to ivarstead but it was so high up in the air that it couldn't spot me down on the ground... dodge a bullet that time ... i think i need to get into the crafting aspects of this game... i need to learn some potion recipes, food recipes, and do a little crafting at the blacksmith station... i haven't done any enchanting either as i have no clue how to do it... i know it has to do with those soul gems, but that's all i know... EDIT: ohh, i am now at level 9, 25 hours into the game... i've been dicking around a lot, looking at stuff, chopping wood, and taking in the beauty of the landscape... i am never one of those types of gamers that always go from point A to point B, nonstop... i stop to smell the roses a lot of times, then end up heading to point C instead ...
  8. i was drinking till 3 am last night playing skyrim... i was fucking wasted when i went to bed...
  9. @darth - thanks, i literally just found a shrine and cured my disease... i'll keep that in mind when i get something... @vice - yea, it's pretty self explanatory... this isn't like "crysis 2" where you can go invisible and run to the other side of the map... you have to use it before you're detected, and still sneak around after using it... unfortunately, sneaking around doesn't work with my character... it's hard to sneak around in heavy armor... i got some more exploring to do in whiterun... but once i've wrapped up some things, i am going to hitch a ride to firten... actually, i might walk out that way for the experience...
  10. a breton version of st. nicholas ... MERRY CHRISTMAS!! he's actually got a king leonidas look to him without the hat... i have been dicking around in riverwood for a while, trying to figure out how to use things and learn the conversation trees and quests and icons on the HUD, and... and... yea, lots of stuff to figure out... i am currently wondering if my level 2 character can withstand the march up the mountain for some damned golden claw... i really want to do it though, and i will make a save back in town before i try it... i want to wrap up that quest because i feel like i will get my hands on a free place to stay and store stuff... and i could use a place like that already... i've sold most of my extra stuff, but i know i need to be saving some of this stuff for later... i can tell i will have fun exploring though, as i've already discovered places i want to re-visit for exploration very soon... but i need to get a place to store stuff... riverwood is my best bet, so i am going to see if i can help out here, i already have a love triangle to figure out, but i am going to wait on that one for when i get back... i can't really decide if i like this game or love it... it's still too early to tell... i had to restart the scene right after character creation because the dragon apparently sent me underneath the front gate of the stronghold while i was following some dude... my character, in an LOL moment , glitched underneath the door like he was digging his way out... the dragon did some spell blast and i flew towards the gate, then i started to slide underneath it, and next thing i knew i was outside the castle... i was tempted to just run away but i knew i wasn't going to advance from there... leave it to bethesda to make me smack my forehead laughing right off the bat... ------ ha, i guess i can get a place to stay in riverwood if i do finish up the main quest here... and i guess this is also where that archery glitch is someone was talking about?? lol, i know what i am about to do then... time to get a claw and a badass archery skill, for a secondary skill of course ... this is my first look at the wikia since i started too... i just wanted to look up the local inn, then found the local quest as well... EDIT: ahh, nevermind, they meant, "main quest" ... i guess i will sell what i can and head off to whiterun... hopefully i can gather another few grand here and there for that place there... kinda sucks not having a place to hold up at on the cheap... 10g for the room at the inn doesn't suffice, those containers are maked red... EDIT2: i am also stricken with the "ataxia" spell, and have no idea what to do... it hasn't stopped my lockpicking skills, but someone told me i looked sick, so i had to see what i contracted... thankfully it wasn't the vampirism shit... EDIT3: HA! i just found a stagecoach that can take me to any stronghold, and it worked!! but i am reloading because i am in whiterun on some business... it's nice to know i can do that though ... you've lost your wife?!? by accident, ahem, i'm sure... i just ran into her, she's sitting at the drunken hunstman in whiterun, a hired merc for a 500g... you should of kept that bitch on a leash...
  11. dude, i loved manipulating dead bodies in fallout... here's cherry from fallout 3 ... she looks like she's my personal whore high on jet and passed out on my bed... i was disappointed in not being able to do this in new vegas... there were no temporary followers like that ...
  12. @stoic - umm, thats how they took a shit back then... make sure you have accorns in your inventory though, or you could get hit with the stench virus, causing others to vomit in your pressence... not good for questing... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  13. you got it in that one place, in that one town... you know, the one with the people walking around... you know what i am talking about... the wikia says that the game tells you when you get it... but its easy to miss it if you're in the middle of the battle... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  14. the wikia says you can get bit by one too, but i guess thats kind of hard to do unless you can get those werewolves to show themselves in public... i am assuming none of of them want to be exposed like that... i am not sure that i want to be a werewolf right away anymore... i will weigh the options... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  15. join the companions... it's the only way i do believe... you have to drink the blood of another... apparently some members of that guild are werewolves... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  16. smithing early... got it... i was actually planning on doing that anyways since my character will rely on armors and swords... he's going to be a "run into the middle of the battle" kind of fighter... i might try sneaking a bit, but i don't think it's going to work well with a tank-style character... i am going to really really try to create a spell-resisting warrior... there's a few items i researched that i would need, and it is possible to create a character than can resist most of the damage, all sometimes as well... i don't know how many times in oblivion i had to run away from a spell caster... i am just not good with spells, so i plan on countering that with my breton warrior, who is able to resist spells, and throw some out himself... we shall see though, i'm all talk at this point ...
  17. well fuck the key then, i'll have a million picks by then... i rarely broke bobby pins in fallout... any other tips for starting out, or items to look into eventually in my journey? Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  18. well that sucks... if i recall, the lockpick minigame in oblivion was hard for me... i wish it was as easy as it was in fallout ... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  19. the wikia site said you get to keep that item... you don't?? i won't finish it either then... i have that guild marked on my map for that very item... i probably wasn't going to finish it anyways, the companions is more akin to my character anyways Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  20. @stoic - pre game jitters... just getting prepared for what i want to do... @duff - ring of hircine noted... i am filling up my dragon shout app with notes and item locations... i knew this app would useful... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  21. so that's it?? wow, i am seriously considering it now... even if i rarely use it, resistance to diseases and the added benefits in wolf form make this a no-brainer... i don't mind smelling like a dog ... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  22. is there a downside to being a werewolf?!?! they sound badass!! since i can control when i want to be one, i might try to get the disease... they're uber powerful, and if i need to cover a lot of ground, i can transform for a few minutes... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  23. it's probably because your game just auto-saved... well, i figured out my character build... i'm going with a breton warrior... warrior because i suck when trying to use mages, and i am not ready to play as a master thief/assassin just yet... and brenton because of it's tank ability and it's mad magic resistance skills... i think this is a build that will get me through this game from start to finish... and i figured out the direction i am heading once i feel like exploring... i am heading to riften ...
  24. i'm a little late to this topic, but that opening article reminds me of full metal jacket, not GTA... Yours sincerely, A fine gentleman with an iPhone.
  25. i watch CNN, because it's the only news outlet i have... i don't pay for TV because TV isn't worth paying for... however, when i watch news, i pick up on general stories, but i don't buy into their bias view on the subject... i am a very well informed conspiracy guy, so when i watch the news, i see the hidden agenda behind it... ron paul is one of those hidden agendas... even now, as newt is slipping, and romney is still considered to be a flip-flopper, all of a sudden there's interest in extreme-viewed rick perry again... REALLY?!?! i thought it was established that he's an idiot... i guess america likes retarded governors from texas... you can tell that the media wants anyone BUT ron paul as the nomination... they keep overlooking the fact that he's been #2 or #3 the entire time... instead, they focus on #1, or the guy behind ron paul... is this high school?? are we playing favorites again?!? there's a reason why i call my own people, my fellow americans, "dumb masses"... the dumb asses only do what other people tell them to... they're like a herd of sheep... they're dumb masses... it's not like europe is any better... your media feeds you bullshit all the time too... V for vendetta is a great example of that...
