it was interplay that was having issues with it... they wanted the full license and use of fallout brands and stuff, but bethesda said no... i dunno, bethesda did just build a new updated engine for skyrim for current generation systems... i would think that another fallout before the end of the cycle would seem plausible...

i wish i had a better pocket camera at my disposal... i just played probably the toughest golf course i ever played today... it had so many hills that you just kinda had to hit it and pray you'd find it on the other side... and the fucking greens were so hard to read... but there were a few holes that wrapped around this gigantic pond... the views were amazing all day, too bad i didn't have to time to snap more... that's called a natural lens flare folks, no one does that anymore... it's almost old-school hipster like...

use your ipad.... are you using an HDTV?? it should turn out alright... i use cameras for my kinda OK screenshots... i've gotten a lot better at it, especially with my sony cybershot camera i've had for years... my new vegas screenshots are pretty nice... but i am saving those for when DiO starts playing... don't want to spoil too much of it ...

i love reading a dupzor review... i think you get the best synopsis from fans, not from people paid to talk about it... and open world games are my thing, i am tempted to start a topic for risen 2, an open world pirate RPG, but i don't know who'd be interested... i am about to buy it because i don't think i'll ever find a copy to rent... there's only one sitting on the shelf... and if there's pirate antics involved then i already know i'll like it... fuck it, i am buying it in the next week or so... however, i am trying hard to rent sleeping dogs... i've been to the rental store almost every day this week in hopes of finding a copy... i really do want to play this game now... i absolutely love open world games, it's my go-to genre...

the gauss rifle can only be repaired by vendors of epoxys... i guess vendors are the only ones that can repair the winterized armor... kinda shitty but, i am sure you can bring enough gear to a vendor to trade for repairs...

you can pin limbs to walls if you manage to get a critical kill shot on a limb... it works best in cramped spaces for that...

haha, and i know all about the dart gun, i carry it specifically for deathclaws... but once you become badass, even that's pointless... unless you want to play around with them, like you're already doing it seems, lol... used the railway rifle yet?? it's good for up close fun in a hallway...

i am still renting this for sure... @samurai - you touched on the world feeling empty, you're the first person to mention that so far... i thought, from what i've read so far, that the game actually has lots to do... perhaps you're still early in the game?? as far as the unpolished part, i kinda figured that was gonna happen... this game was picked up from activision with the world mostly constructed... they've basically patched it together to pick up the franchise for future games... and from the reviews thus far, it seems like we'll be seeing more sleeping dogs in the future... the unpolished stuff kinda reminds me of "the saboteur"... they weren't able to put the finishing touches on it because the company was shut down by EA... but it was still a fun game if you got past the bugs and rough edges... it was actually, one of my most memorable gaming moments of this generation... on the weapons... you do realize this is hong kong, where weapons have been banned, right?? it's rare to find guns in real life, so why wouldn't the game also reflect that?? that's why there's an emphasis on hand-to-hand combat... i did like your review though, you offered a different perspective than a gaming site would offer... i love to read reviews on here, it's an honest opinion from a gamer, not someone paid to talk about games...

i honestly don't care about the map size at all in any open world game... if the content packed into the streets are fun and abundant, it makes the world feel a lot bigger anyways... if it's gigantic but empty, like LA noire, then it feels like a waste of space and a chore to drive anywhere... even mafia 2 kept their map to a tolerable size to hide the fact that there wasn't a lot to do outside the story missions... amazingly, sleeping dogs sounds like it might be able to not only work well in a small map, but also provide lots of distractions as well... i still think the name sucks, but i have read nothing but positive reviews so far... plus it's been said over and over that the balance of your actions, for the first time, actually makes sense in an open world... you're a cop, but you also have to look like a gang banger to keep the mob from raising suspicion... it's got a "donny brasco" feel, which one of the reviewers mentioned... i can see it too from the previews and reviews...
