    The reason it won't work is because people want to play games for fun. The only person who thinks it's fun if people follow orders is the person who is actually giving them out... I've done it before with Call of Duty clans (which is actually a game you can use clans properly) and people just get pissed off and do their own thing. Might work on free roam, but it won't if you're trying to play online against other people. And if you're just playing free roam, what's the point in calling it a clan?

    I wish I had a little brother with learning difficulties. Playing GTA with him would be pretty similar to this clan idea. Fortunately I don't and my controller isn't covered in saliva.

    It's hard to explain to non-web developers, but basically there's an iframe at the top of the page (where you see the ad image). Inside that iframe, there's supposed to be a banner ad that shows. If that ad shows, it will appear over the top of the background image. So normally you'd only see the actual advert, not the sprunk bg image. But most of the time the ads don't load, so you're just seeing the background image. I can't detect whether the ad has loaded or not. The code is always there, but if people have adblockers or whatever, the ads won't show. I can't make the background image turn into a clickable ad because it would probably stop the ad from working properly. It's really just there to highlight the fact that you should be seeing an ad, only to make it GTA themed too.

    Put a couple of them live on the site. Might change them over time. If I can figure out a way to make them clickable when ads aren't shown, I'll try, but I doubt it.

    We really need more effort on the horizontal ones than the square one, cos more people are going to see the top ad than the bottom. But these are almost too good to hide behind ads lol. Might need to make a page on the site for "GTA 5 Adverts"

    That's awesome. Shame it's not really possible to make them clickable, they'll just be background images, but that's the kind of thing that would be good.

    It's possible, but not exactly something I was planning on doing. It's not supposed to be a big feature for the site. In order to fix people's website styling issues caused by the ads, I had to put them in an iframe. Because they're in an iframe, there's a gap where the ad was even if you have them hidden. So instead of leaving a random gap on every page, I used the bg image to highlight that an ad is supposed to be there. This would just be to make the ad fit in more with the site for those who have them blocked. It wouldn't be clickable or do anything though, just visual.

    If anyone wants to help out with the site by designing a GTA 5 themed banner ad placeholder banner, feel free. There might be a reward if I like it enough and decide to use it. You'll see the ad placeholder at the top and bottom of every page on the site. If people have ads blocked they'll just see the basic placeholder, so it would be nice to make this look more GTA 5 themed rather than a boring rectangle. These are the two I need if you can be bothered... http://www.igta5.com/img/728bg.png http://www.igta5.com/img/300bg.png I might have a go myself, but I'd probably just blend some images from the screencaps on our site to fill the dark grey bit. Post any ideas here.

    Thing is, I can probably make it so if anyone's sig is over 250px in height, there'll be a scroll bar so you can view the rest of their sig if you want. But maybe we should just encourage people to not make huge sigs.

    In the style sheet there's a setting "max height: 250px". In certain browsers, anything else will just be cut off. Should I remove this, or would people rather not see huge sigs?

    I hope in the first mission, as part of the cutscene, you accidentally crash into him while he's riding his BMX and he dies. Fanboys are happy cos "omg teh CJ in teh gaim!!1!!" and we're all happy cos we don't need to worry about him.

    Rockstar will already have plenty of testers who have been working on the game throughout the development process, but the fact they're taking on new ones probably means they're getting towards completion. There'll still be a good few months of testing to go through, but generally it tends to happen near the end of the game, so the signs are good that it might be out this year.

    If teamwork or clans is something that's actually possible in GTA 5 Multiplayer, then setting up a website clan or at least our own multiplayer (or even co-op) section is definitely something we'll look into.

    Weird cos I've been on Twitter ALL morning and haven't seen anything from Rockstar at all. And my Twitter automatically updates every few seconds... I'm not calling it fake. I'm just saying it doesn't seem real...

    I've temporarily removed the ads. Can you test again and see if this fixes the issue?

    My site is hosted free, providing I display 2 ads on every page (one at the top, one at the bottom). But those ads are usually extremely annoying and cause bugs. But if it wasn't for them I'd be paying easily over £300 a month for hosting to keep the site online which isn't really feasible given the fluctuations in the money I make through my own personal ads.

    How about the one at the top? It's almost certainly caused by a corrupt/rogue advert. Check them all. Really pissing me off because I've complained about this twice already to my host.
