  1. ? Could've sworn the the name of the thread was computer accessories.

Why is it when someone contrasts the popular opinion in "Anybody smoke weed?" their opinions are automatically wrong and they're basically shoved out of the thread? Same concept. It's happened to both Q and I...

  2.

Sorry I bought a keyboard that I wanted, sorry.

I think we all agree that your high dollar keyboard is a waste, and youre being overly defensive about it. You can spend your money how you want, and we can call you a fool. Bringing up someone's weed habit as an excuse to justify your keyboard purchase is laughable.

Well we're talking about wastes of money here

  3. You're obviously targeting me, as I'm one who bought it.

But it's okay. You can waste your money on one thing and I'll spend mine on another. At least mine lasts more than several minutes to an hour.

Anyway, back to talking about computer accessories and not why something is a waste and how one is better for owning a piece of junk, I picked this thing up. Had a portable Seagate for nearly three years and it's great, decided to add even more memory to my rig.

Forgot to add, I had $70 in gift cards so I got it for $64 plus tax. Great deal.

  4. My keyboard.

5 dollars and 3 years later, you won't ever convince me to buy one of those over-priced gimicks.

Ever think that maybe someone who can afford one wanted one?

Call it what you want, it's got some cool features. Good on you for using the same keyboard, but I could say you buying weed all the time is a waste, I don't, because it's your money.

  5.

who wants a 50 pound keyboard.....

You're fapping by the glow of your monitor late one eve, and a peeping prowler enters the window for a closer look. Your bat is far out of reach in the opposite corner; you don't have a gun. You do, however, have 50lbs. of bludgeon sitting next to your clean hand; instinctively, you snatch it up, taking care not to stain it, and swiftly dispose of the intruder.

    I want a 50 lb. keyboard.

But lo, the keyboard is not wireless, and when you go to swing instead of hitting the prowlers you pull the rig off your desk and ruin your entire computer. Your porn is gone forever.

  6. If I remember correctly, the G keys can be programmed to another key for ease of access when playing games. For example, if a game you're playing requires frequent use of the P letter key, you can assign key G4 to emulate key P using Corsair's keyboard programming software (which obviously works only with certain Corsair keyboards). Keep in mind I have not bothered to research this, I was told by a friend with a K95, so I may be completely wrong.

Also about the key switches (which I'm obviously late to comment on) : There are 4 different types of Cherry MX key switches - black, red, blue and brown. the black and red switches are made with gaming in mind, whereas blue and brown switches are made with typists in mind. This guy explains it very well: http://www.furiouspaul.com/articles/cherry-mx-keyboard-switches.html TL;DR - Brown switches are apparently better for gaming, so if that's what the keyboard is for, you've made a good choice.

    I really appreciate the input!

  7. Figured this would be a good topic to discuss things like this.

A friend of mine recently bought a Corsair K65 RGB, and I really like the back lighting customization on it, but the keyboard seems too short for my liking and has no numpad.

Corsair makes a K70 RGB and a K95 RGB, and I figured the K70 would be good for me because I don't know what G keys are and what I'd use them for.  Now my problem is I can not find a single place that has the K70 or K95 in stock.

I looked at other keyboards and I saw the Razer Blackwidow Chroma, which has much better lighting than the Corsair but lacks multimedia keys (which I likely won't use), has an entire plastic finish unlike Corsair's brushed aluminum, and instead of Cherry MX switches under the keys has what most say feels like a cheap chinese switch behind, similar to Cherry MX Reds.

Are there any good keyboards with the customization of the corsair in color and build quality, or is the razer decent enough to go with?

That brings me to my final question, what Cherry MX key is best? Brown, red, or blue?
