  1. know what just crossed my mind?

I wonder if R* accidentally leaks the map themselves.

I mean, back when 4 was advertised, in the 3rd trailer (move up, ladies) the map was visible in the cop-boat scene and if i'm right, this was well before it "officially" popped up. maybe something similar happens these days?

That is quite true. However, i doubt that rockstar would have made the GPS that big this time, or even had it at all since it was pretty much pointless aside from it adding "realism".

To be fair, that trailer came out in December 07 and they released the basic map shape in February 08, so we didn't get very much advanced notice. So I doubt we'll see anything any earlier then that.

  2. i bet all the screens are seens from an upcoming trailer 2 that they will probaly release the end of this week, mabey next week. idk just a guess

Highly doubtful. First of all they've never done that before....release screens from a future trailer. Would make the trailer very disappointing if it only showed us what we've already seen wouldn't it?

Besides the only thing Rockstar has said is they'll be releasing more screens later this week...nothing at all about a trailer.

  3. In the trailer, I noticed some chemtrails across the sky at about 1:04. I wonder if there's going to be any pilot-able jumbo jets, similar to the ones in IV (you know, the ones that never landed).

Or perhaps a mission strand for a conspiracy theorist (http://en.wikipedia....nspiracy_theory), à la the Truth.

Who knows, maybe he'll even make a return.

    Ehhh? ;)

A chemtrail is the fictional trails from airplanes that conspiracy theorists believe in. What you saw was a contrail, a trail of condensation caused by heated air from the plane's engines hitting the cooler surrounding air.

But that's beside the point...chemtrails are one of the more boring conspiracy theories around....outside of maybe a mission of spraying something from a crop duster I don't see any interesting ways to bring it up in-game.

Also, we won't be seeing the Truth again. As has been said before only companies and radio personalities will be carrying over from the GTA III era of games to the current era...no actual characters will be making the cut.

  4. it would be pretty cool if at some point in the story the main guy goes to jail and then we have to do a few mission in prison where you can roam about certain areas like the excersise yard, you save the game in your cell. then the last prison mission, you break out.

As I said, if you want to experience that, go play Maia II. It's a good game, but it's got a sucky section in the middle where you're stuck in prison. It's no fun to play whatsoever.

  5. No.

    No, no, no, no, nonononononono.

    And furthermore: NO!

It's pointless, stupid, and adds nothing. What would prison do? Break the flow of the story if you're into that, and break the flow of gameplay six ways from Sunday.

They tried it in Mafia II and I didn't like it then, and I wouldn't like it now if Rockstar shoehorned it into GTA V.

  6. I'm not a fan of Mod's, especially the ones that replace GTA branded vehicles with real-life vehicles, I like the fact that they are not real-life ones, That's what ruined Driver San Francisco for me, using real vehicles.

The thing about mods is that if you don't want real cars in the game, that's fine...but if you do then you can install a mod to add them. If other people do that it doesn't hurt you at all. After all the trailer confirmed that they're keeping the fake car brands from IV in V.

  7. I wouldn't really call L.A Noire a cop game. It's more of a detective game. And besides, it sucked.

And the name of the game being Grand Theft Auto shouldn't limit what they can do in terms of gameplay.

You play as Officer Cole Phelps of the Los Angeles Police Department and as you play the game you move through the different police rankings and move to different assignments in LAPD.

Sure you act as a detective in a detective game in L.A. Noire, because you are a detective, but at the same time a cop. So therefore it's both a cop and detective game.

And of course my point still stands, the very idea of GTA games doesn't mesh with playing as anything other type of cop than a corrupt cop and that defeats the purpose of your idea altogether.

  8. Rockstar already made a cop game....it's called L.A. Noire.

Besides, it's be kind of silly to play as a cop in a game called Grand Theft Auto. I mean if you're playing as a good or misunderstood cop (à la Cole Phelps) then the game style that makes GTA games so great doesn't work, and if you're playing as a corrupt or bad cop then the fact hes a cop is pointless.

Besides there's nothing in the trailer that would lead anyone to believe that you might play as a cop. Just sayin'.

  9. I'm not sure if Rockstar would go with it again....after all there were several features that were in SA that were removed in IV. In SA they really did seem to have a 'everything, including the kitchen sink' mentality when it came to including features.

Well, if they were to re-include this one that'll be fine...but if they didn't I wouldn't be heartbroken or anything either.

  10. i don't know but dr. dre spent a shitload of money on it... i get this eerie feeling that people will literally fill a stadium to watch a holographic elvis perform... why do i feel like we're about to be hit with concerts from dead people, like the grateful dead??

I was thinking the same thing. If it gets cheap enough it might put Elvis and Beatles impersonators out of business!
