  1. Personally I hope it is bigger. And i hope to see loads of small country towns sprawled out over the countrysides, full of interesting characters to do side missions for and what not.

I agree with this, and I do think it will be bigger than San Andreas since they said "the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created." I think Los Santos will be at least 3x the size it was in San Andreas, and I think they will also include Mt. Chiliad from what I can see in the trailer.

"Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California. " Possibility of another famous town in SoCal... San Diego? I think that would fit perfectly, a parody of San Diego just south of Los Santos, which would be big enough for an airport etc...

"Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches" This means there is countryside, possibly even desert as seen in the trailer, and that creates a large possibility of small villages/towns like Blueberry fro San Andreas.

  2. I would love to see street gangs return, The Ballas, Grove Street Families, Los Santos Vagos, Varios Los Aztecas... Dynamic gang-fights throught LS would be awesome. I would really love to drive into the Grove Street Culdesac and see The Johnsons house, with GSF members hanging around... I really hope there is a gang system where you are able to take over territories like in SA, especially with RAGE physics. But if the protagonist is Caucasian as he sounds in the trailer, I doubt he will be a member of these gangs. Maybe a new gang will arise, who knows.

How do you feel about Street gangs in Los Santos? In my opinion that's what makes the city what it is.

  3. And we now know it takes place in 2012.

Really? How do we know that fo' sho'?

A bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer, Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.

"Re-imagined, present day Southern California." It doesn't specifically say Los Santos there, so we may see more. And we now know it takes place in 2012.

    Because of that.

Okay, but with the release of Max Payne 3 in 2012, will they really release GTA V then? especially 24/05/12, that's only 2 months after Max Payne's release, and I don't think R* will release major games like that so closely to each other.

  4. No way, that guy wasn't over 60. And that black guy running can't be CJ, CJ would be about 40 years old, and that guy was in his 20s.

That's bullshit, these characters are too young to be from the GTA III era. CJ would be in his 40s, and Tommy would be in his 60s. IGN's reports just give what people want to hear, everyone loves CJ and Tommy, but I don't think they will be returning as playable characters, but it is possible we see CJ's house in Grove Street and see him appear in a cutscene or something. I would actually LOVE to roll down Grove Street in GTA V and reminisce.

  5. R* incorporated gang culture into LS brilliantly in San Andreas, and just because it wasn't so eventful in SA doesn't mean it won't be now, like from III>IV, there was a HUGE change in things to do. I don't think xbox could handle the entire state of San Andreas, therefore they had to cut it down to one city (would require multiple DVDs). Or maybe they will release more trailers of LV and SF later, who knows.

When the next generation of consoles come about I think there will be capability of an entire San Andreas, but that will be in years to come.

  6. So now that the trailer has been released, what are your predictions on the protagonist?

From the trailer we can hear a voice which might be the protagonist, but nothing can be said yet. In my opinion, he sounds Caucasian and would fit the white guy looking off his balcony in the trailer. Then there is hispanic/black? guy that reappears constantly as well.

    Here is my theory:

There are 3 protagonists, 1 from Los Santos, 1 from Las Venturas and 1 from San Fierro. As in GTA IV, there were 3 protagonists. Maybe as this trailer only focused on Los Santos, 2 more trailers about the other cities will be released with different people voicing over, as the protagonists. Hopefully we play an african-american or hispanic character, but that's just what I would prefer. But its great to see San Andreas again.

What are your opinions and theories?

  7. Right now I'm at 8, I think because my brain can't fully comprehend a new GTA... The thought of it just makes me so damn psyched. Once the trailer comes out, It will be 20/10, and from that day I will count down to the release. One of the things that really, really angers me is that I will be camping in the desert for 2 days, including 11/2/11, and THE NEXT DAY! So I will only see the trailer on Friday :(

  8. So as crime is the one of the dominant themes in all GTA games, what types of crimes are you looking for?

Here is a short list of what I would love to see:

    - Ability to rob pedestrians if they are in a secluded area, pick pocket, Break and Enter almost ANY house (With different difficulty levels), Rob any store, not only clothes shops and internet cafes, and jacking individual parts from cars.

    - Drug dealing, simiar to CTW, but maybe slightly harder as it was easy to become a millionaire in CTW. Also, I would like the AI to have drug deals, and the protagonist to have the ability to ambush these deals and take everything.

    - Ability to ambush someone in a dark alley, and "dispose" of their body, such as dumping in the sea, in a manhole, garbage can etc... And visible bodily damage similar but improved from RDR. I would also like to see dynamic AI commiting crimes as well, it would make the game much more realistic.

    - A Gang system similar to San Andreas but improved. Such as taking over a territory, and in each area there is a "clubhouse" similar to TLAD where all your gangmembers chill.

    - Bribing cops to let you off with crimes.

There must be more, but this is all I can think of for now. What do you think? Anything to add, or anything you think isn't good?

  9. With IV they did the completely unexpected and went with a Russian protagonist

    Niko was Serbian, not Russian.

But yeah, I agree with this whole hispanic thing. If the game is to be set in San Andreas/California, it would only make sense to play a hispanic protagonist. Hispanic gangs are predominant, especially in this new age. This would also be an opportunity to utilize hip-hop culture in a game again. I don't think the "hood" idea is cheesy at all, I think it's pretty cool. But with the font of the "FIVE", the game might be more focused on class and money, so I'm thinking Venturas.
