I picked it up yesterday. I heard the steam version had some dodgy glitch so a day one patch was required. The PS3 version seems to be running fine for me. I think it's a pretty fun game. The only thing i think is bad is the voice acting lol. But that can be said for Farcry 2, Oblivion or Fallout, and they were all good games. The atmosphere of the island is spot on. Zombies wondering the island with different groups of survivors holding up in different parts, with variations of side mission for you to complete as well as the main story missions. Plenty of weapons to find and upgrade as well as repair/mod/create from blueprints. Especially melee weapons. Some cars can be repaired and driven. There is nothing better than driving into a group of zombies at full speed and watching them slam through the windscreen!

Oh man, I miss committing mass murder in the Malibu Club. Those shadows look pretty good, were they like that in the original? They're using Rage so the lighting/shadows will be IV lighting and shadows, Marney.

Wouldn't they shut off the servers hosting the beta after a time though? Yeah i guess after the beta period was over.

I think i mentioned this a long while back on one of the Rockstar Games threads. I heard him talk about this on the radio and that was the last i heard of it till now.

I just found out this has 4 player co-op through the story mode. I'm going to pick this up at some point this week!

New consoles wont be coming out just yet Jamie. These consoles are meant to be on a 12 year cycle apparently. That's what both Sony and Microsoft suggested when they first released them anyway. I'm sure there will be at least 3 GTA's on current consoles. You never know, they could be working on more than one GTA right now. Assuming they are making Los Santos, San Feirro and Las Ventures as separate games. They could work on them all at once. But that's just an example, i don't really believe they are lol.

@Vicey. If you want to ensure a beta code wont expire just type it in on the store and press download then cancel, it will stay in your download history so you can just download it any time you want. - I know you're not interested in this one, but keep that in mind for any future betas.

I think a present day Vice City would be influenced a lot by latino gangs. Could be an interesting setting for a Hispanic protagonist.

I know exactly how it's done, and could attempt it. But it's just way too time consuming and I'd never have enough time to commit to it. I used to export the models from the GTA games and just open them in a 3d editor just to see how they were made. This was before i learnt how to make 3D models.

Rockstar North is like Area 51. Nothing ever gets out unless they allow it to!

I think an Hispanic character is plausible. I can imagine some crazed religious, santeria, voodoo character giving the protagonist hit missions at some point. Like sacrificial kills.

Sometimes virals fail. If GTA V was released by telling one guy there is a chance it could flop, even though it is GTA. UNLESSS, HE SHOWS YOUTUBE FOOTAGE FOR THE WIN!

That's the thing. Driver developers can't make their minds up. First they wanted it to be a GTA style sandbox, run-around, cops n' robbers game. Now they'e turning it into burnout/need for speed. Poor franchise development.
