  1. I find it quite fun to cause chaos in free roam, driving down sidewalks crashing through lampposts, dustbins, traffic lights and running people over with no consequences, then hearing my partner's response to it all. The funniest was Roy Earle when he said something like "that was a taxpaying citizen who just bounced over the fucking hood Phelps!" I cracked up at that one.

In other news, finished all the street crimes (in free roam mode in between my chaos-causing sessions.)

And also, now that i've completed the game i'd like to offer my thoughts; seeing as how this is strictly a single-player, narrative driven game I feel the length of it is just too short, it should have been twice as long, I was just getting into the homicide cases when they ended (i'd have liked to have seen more variety in the homicide cases too, not all women related to the BD killings) and after that vice seemed much shorter.

To me it seemed about the same amount of time to complete as RDR, which had lots of other things to do outside of missions, including multiplayer. This however has nothing else to do outside of missions except for street crimes and collecting film reels, so it relies more heavily on a lengthy story to make up for those shortcomings.

As I said a long time ago, I think RDR is better than this game. Don't get me wrong, it's a great and very unique game though.

  2. Only glitch i've noticed is some interior parts take a while to load during cutscenes, and when a character walks past the missing texture piece or if the camera pans round you get a blue hell like you do when you fall below the map in GTA, with the image of the character or other texture pieces superimposed on the blank background.

  3. So what are the point of the hidden cars? I mean if you take them do you automatically get to keep it as your own car that spawns outside the station? Do they have sirens? I haven't even bothered taking one as I thought it would be stealing, and that'd be wrong y'know.

I'm halfway through the vice desk at the mo', but I think homicide would've been better as the last desk.

The homicide case with the pedo at the school - I interviewed the husband at the station, then went to interview the pedo. After interviewing him I was going to go back and question the husband again, but I got a cutscene of him running out of the station. After that it automatically charged the husband with the murder and I got a bollocking for something or other that I did wrong. (I was going to charge the pedo.)

  4. I never even realised deaf people play video games, does that go for gay people too? I can see developers implementing gay-friendly alternate mission endings - instead of killing everyone, you are required to redecorate the place in a kitsch style, throw scatter cushions and potpourri around and then dance to some Scandinavian techno music while strobe lights pulsate and semi-naked moustachioed men dance around you gyrating their hips suggestively.

  5. ohh, and i won the frikin' LA Noire display cutout for apparently being 7th in line... WTF am i suppose to do with that?? i'm going to feel like a nerd walking out of the store with that in a couple of weeks...

Lol! Cheeky bastards, it means they don't have to fill their bin up by throwing it away. Instead they let you "win" it and get you to dispose of it for them. I bet the person who was 8th in line won the cardboard outer boxes the games were shipped in.

  6. Dear Mr Ferriday,

    Order number(s): 08968478/P

I am delighted to let you know that your Preorder for L.A. Noire (with 'The Naked City' case) is now being processed subject to successful payment being taken from your credit card when it is dispatched. The order will be despatched by your chosen delivery method in time to reach you for the day of release.

By using the GAME 1st To Play Preorder Service you have ensured that you will be among the first people to receive L.A. Noire (with 'The Naked City' case), and we are confident that you will be happy with the order, our service and our speedy delivery!

    Well woo.

I wonder if anyone preordered under the misapprehension that 'the Naked City' was a cheat code that removed everyone's clothes. :D

  7. I agree there should be basic modding capabilities available for cars in the next GTA, but nothing too extreme. If it gets too complicated and time consuming it would detract from the rest of the game, we don't need a GT5-esque system that allows you to change the camber angle of the wheels or the damper setting. Engines shouldn't have indefinite modding options too, maybe - as already mentioned - use the Mafia II system of having three upgrade stages for engines, or possibly three unique engine upgrades for each vehicle type.

In retrospect i'm surprised there wasn't at least some modding present in GTA IV, it would've been perfect for Brucie's garage to function that way. and I probably would've made more of an effort to befriend him if I knew i'd get some nice modded vehicles in return. It really depends on the setting of the next GTA game, if it's set in a previous decade I wouldn't expect modding to be present, if however it is a contemporary setting we might get lucky.

  8. lol, i might be scottish but i have no idea what this says - edinnaemekennaeduffranceaye. lol.

i usually played command & conquer, but i was watching starcraft 2 on ustream and it looked really good.

that is what got me thinking about getting back into it again.

"edinnaemekennaeduffranceaye" = It doesn't/won't make any difference, aye? Plus I got a couple of name drops in there too, but only Mek and Duff. :\

  9. I keep meaning to berate you for your awful use of English but then I realised you're Scottish anyway so "edinnaemekennaeduffranceaye". Most RTS games should run on an average PC fairly well.

I don't even know what graphics card I have, i'm pretty sure it's an Nvidia 512MB... something with a 7 (7000 series or am I making that up?) on it I seem to remember, I have 4GB of RAM I know that. But yeah I play RTS games - although not so much nowadays - I think the newest one I played was AoE III, and that ran fine.

What sort of RTS games are we talking about here?

  10. Seems that way, good luck to him I say. Of course it already occurred to those of us blessed with the power of cognitive thought that Marney is just doing it intentionally to lure us into a trap and/or a flame war for lols. And we all saw through his cheap, string vest of a scouse disguise. Marney, your intentions are flagrant, FLAGRANT I SAY! AND I SHANT BE PARTY TO THEM, YOU HEAR ME YOU DEVILISH CHAP! 11. Anyone know if this is accurate? Wondering where L.A. Noire (or other GTA games/RDR for that matter) would fit in.

    large-video-game-worlds2.jpg

Well RDR was slightly bigger than SA I believe, that Burnout one looks wrong judging by the size of the roads, they look far too large (look at the boats at the bottom of the map.)

I think D-O would've loved an official L.A. Noire fedora. Pity.

  13. I don't mean to support Marney's theories (I got my own crazy stories to defend), but it's not hard to record a few videos talking about things that are more than likely going to happen in the next few years, and then having someone else release the videos after you die. I mean Tupac did it, right?

Just felt like quoting myself here:

New video: Bin Laden ft Tupac - LA 2 PK (Ghetto Gangsta Reunion)
