  1. I was thinking another way to go back to a single character was to have a choice of three stories, all intertwined. It would be like having GTA IV, TLAD and TBOGT as separate stories in one game with only one protag but you get to choose who you work with. Certain missions would be the same regardless (think the Diamond exchange) but you'd have the ability to play as both sides through separate playthroughs. Initially you'd have a choice of who you'd work with/for and though there'd have to be a way to try and steer the protag down one path (earn trust to open missions?) rather than being able to play three different stories at once. But that's for another game...
  2. Is there a presence of Asian gangs in Los Angeles that could be appear in Los Santos?
  3. If time was scaled, sleeping would no longer be tied to game saves.
  4. Yeah but not on the scale the Japanese are probably looking at. It would be nice if they kept it as a craft brew rather than mass produce it. Sucks that your missus lost her job. Must have been a kick arse job while it lasted though.
  5. Probably because of ex-pats. I know LC was recently taken over by Kirin so there should be more distribution worldwide eventually as sad as that sounds.
  6. I'm with you. There'll be an extra story or two, a la TLAD/TBOGT, either in V or GTAO while another city is being developed.
  7. Boys, boys, there is no ONE answer to this question. You're both right! Have you tried Little Creatures? I'd be surprised if either have but it's amazing how popular it is with travelers.
  8. Thanks for elaborating. I certainly don't think an entire map would happen even on next gen as I wouldn't expect a Vice City game to appear until around 2017-2018 and noone knows the true capabilities of the next gen consoles yet. You know more about this stuff than I do but it would be surprised if the ultimate goal (well down the track) wasn't one playable map with multiple cities that could be accessed be flying, boating, driving or (god forbid) walking.
  9. I had a mate who used to work for EB Games and GAME over here and he used to get reps and communique from time to time. My understanding was they were like food reps in supermarkets in that they were there to sell things and provide tidbits of info without knowing the actual quality of the product. By car maybe. It only takes an hour to fly from Edinburgh to Heathrow.
  10. Do you think the Epsilon Program winners will be announced prior to the release?
  11. Dunno. Apparently one of the bridges is from Canada and one of the motels was from Oklahoma or somewhere like that. Anyhoo, I found this on Yankton, SD's website: They named the land E-Hank-Ton-Wan, which means "people of the end village".
  12. Thought I'd throw this here: As I mentioned in the other thread, TreeFitty believes they'll combine cities as islands rather than growing out the land. Whilst I prefer the land to be grown out to include the areas BlackSox has highlighted above (though I believe Grand Canyon will be included eventually) it makes more sense to take the existing cities and add them together (bigger map, minimal effort), especially if they do what I think and head back to Vice City for the next installment.
  13. Of course, it certainly won't snow at LSX. What I was alluding to was the possibility that those northern areas that Dup highlighted could snow on a regulated cycle that is either independent of the story or kicks in after the story ends. When there is no snow on the caps, the southern/desert areas would be hotter increasing fatigue and so on. I stick by my RDR-style theory as BlackSox suggested but if Dup is correct then this game will reach a whole new level, not so much for the has-it-been-done-before aspect but the what-can-be-done-with-it aspect (ski slopes, fatigue in summer, slushy dirt tracks during/after rain, potential for flooding, etc.).
  14. Real time would be near on impossible to pull off for this very reason. They can certainly used scaled time however. I can see a scenario where days and seasons occur on a scale reflective of real time. ie. a GTA day may last three hours which means a week lasts 21 hours, a month lasts 28/29/30/31 days x 3 and so on. This would mean seasons would turnover on the same scale so in my example you'd get a complete cycle in 6.5 weeks or 8 GTA years to 1 calendar year.
  15. If they did go down this path (as awesome as it would be) I would think that one of two things would happen. Either: - The weather happens outside of the storyline and keeps ticking over like regular seasons. Your missions occur regardless of weather and changes in difficulty (and fun) as the weather changes. The 'weather clock' would keep ticking over regardless of whether you've finished the game or not; or - The weather will stay somewhat 'scheduled' through the duration of the story mode and flick over to a 'weather clock' once story mode is finished. It would be strange if this was how they tackled seasons.
  16. I reckon your 3) is both likely and unlikely. I think North Yankton will be part of the San Andreas that we receive on September 17 and while I hope there are rolling seasons I tend to think it'll be like RDR initially and change over time. Where I think it's likely is that R* will add to this map over time. whether by adding land to the existing map (which I hope for) or by way of adding islands which TreeFitty suggested (though he only mentioned SA and LC). Either way, there will be mountains with snow in winter (among many other things) added to the Online map eventually.
  17. I agree that I don't think that any of the characters will be killed off as that will affect gameplay post-story. ie. kill off Franklin after all the hard work you've done to build him up and buy him things and then he dies. I can't see it happening. I do like the idea though of a major conflict and I think it'll happen, especially involving Michael. I get the impression he'll be pulled from pillar to post by Franklin, Trevor, the FIB and his family while Franklin will be sucked into the good life and Trevor will be in it for the kicks.
  18. No fake-dead girlfriends this year. Where is the inspiration coming from?
