  1. The voice we hear on the reveal trailer could be mis-direction, what we here could well be another character talking, possibly as the protag is about to kill them, Rock* do love to mess with our minds. As for story predictions, since the game is about the pusuit of the almighty dollar, does anyone what the fastest growing/most profitable area of crime is at the moment? (I actually don't) but I'd assume that the storyline would feature that quite prominently, and maybe that area is armed robbery? The storyline could well be that you are part of a stick up crew?
  2. Given that Rock* have stated that this is the "biggest" GTA to date, they do have the option of going down what I'll term the "Borderlands" route and adding fucktons of guns, which could be awesome and would add a level of variety, especially if they limit what you can carry to one of each type (i.e, one melee, pistol, SMG, assualt rifle, sniper, rocket/grenade launcher and thrown weapon) each different weapon would have advantages and disadvantages, forcing you to choose carefully what you will carry on paticular missions.
  3. The real life LAPD issues Glocks as standard (I believe graduates are issued either the 22 or 17) so safe money would be on a Glock being featured as it is a ubiquitous police gun (and cops get killed a lot in GTA). Deagle is also a safe bet (as stated above, everyone loves a Deagle) but I'd like to see the Auto-Mag from TBOGT return as IMO it is cooler than a Deagle. A revolver should be featured (country cop/sheriff could carry a revolver and I'd assume gangs would carry them as they're cheaper [again, I assume]) and I'd like to see the Ruger GP100, but I love revolvers, so will be happy with anything. SMG's; Uzi/Micro Uzi, MP5 (or derivative) and something like a Tec-9, would like to see the FN P-90 or MP7. As for shotguns, I predict the usual sawn off (either straight SxS sawn off or a "cruiser" model pump), a police issue semi auto (again, I believe the LAPD issue/use the Benelli M4 Super 90) and then something with the "cool" factor like the AA-12, Pancor Jackhammer or Saiga 12. Rifles: too many I'd love to see, but predicting AK47/AK74, M4 (again, LAPD issue) Sniper Rifles: usual suspects, Remington 700 (as featured in GTAIII, VC, SA and GTAIV) and the H&K PSG1, would like to see the DSR return as well as something like a Chey-Tac or AWM. I'd expect to see the RPG-7 return, but maybe Rock* will mix it up with something like a LAW-80 or M20A2 FLASH, also maybe some form of anti-air launcher such as the Stinger or Starstreak system. Sorry for the few wishes in the list, but these are what I'd predict Also, as an afterthought, whilst the LAPD issue Glocks, I believe officers can choose to carry from an approved list, and obviously gangs carry a variety of pistols and SMG's, so there's a lot of potential.
  4. I'm kinda hoping the maps gonna be epically massive! (: Going by the size of the map in L.A. Noire, I'm hoping that Rock* will at least be able to double that since it won't be a faithfull recreation this time, and Rock* have said that the game features 'Southern California', which suggests to me that the map (hopefully) will be huge.
  5. If Rock* are aiming for realism and going on the assumption that there will be small towns/villages (maybe even another city) outside of Los Santos, would that mean that individual Sheriff's office/Town PD will have a separate identity? I mean that the uniforms/vehicles/weapons will be different? And as some places are too small to justify a police department, how about a Rock* version of the California Highway Patrol? (I did a search to find a thread on this subject but couldn't see one, it it exists feel free to move this to the appropriate place)
  6. How do you think they'll work the weapons acquisition in GTAV? I don't know California very well, but I do know they have quite strict gun control laws, so does that equate to gun shops being rare? And if they move away from gun stores (like in GTAIV) and go with underground dealers (again like GTAIV), how about some variety? Instead of an identi-kit basement how about having that type of set up in Los Santos and gun dealers like biker gangs (think Sons of Anarchy)/hillbilly mafia in the countryside? As for type of guns, I'm not overly fussed as long as it's reasonably realistic (I.e, backstreet dealers won't have military grade weapons) and they include at least one revolver! Btw, @ManicMarcus, love the nail gun idea, it's sick and twisted and classic GTA! (:
  7. I like the idea of having that one perfect car as your own, that would spawn everytime you save As for what I'd like to see, I dunno if they're sold in America, but a Smart car (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_Fortwo) would be cool, not so much to drive but to ram in a fucking great big truck!! (I HATE Smart cars)
  8. @ManicMarcus, Pitbull: I think it'd depend on how Rock* work the whole undercover cop thing (if they put it in) it could be cool (hooker/cop) but could be a massive pain in the arse. As for customisable weapons, that would be very cool, laser sights would be good as its a third person game, but also the ability to have your gun chromed or gold plated (not my cup of tea but whatever floats your boat) How about different ammunition types? Not so much for the pistols (altho hollow point rounds would make sense), but for the rifles it'd be awesome, amour piercing, tracer, etc, possibly inciderary rounds for a shotgun? Possibilities are endless.
  9. As the real life LAPD don't issue one certain type of pistol (as far as I know), does that mean there could be some variety in what you could get off fallen cops? And if not, how about having some randomly armed NPC's (citizens with CCW, other criminals, off duty cops etc) to add variety? *just checked, the LAPD does issue either the Glock 17 or 22 but officers have a choice of what they can carry from an approved list
  10. Also different SWAT teams use different weapons, for example. LSPD SWAT would be armed with say M4's/MP5's/Ithaca M37's, whilst the FBI (FIB?) SWAT team would be armed with a higher level of weapons (for example H&K M416/MP7/Benelli M1014). Would add a real world level of realism as I assume that a federal SWAT team has a different team load out to a LAPD SWAT team.
  11. Just a thought, seeing as we have different levels of car (as in new and shiny, old and crap), how about if you were being chased by cops or just bombing along at top speed and the car could randomly just break down? Obviously it'd be less likely in new cars and more frequent (but not certain) in older cars?
