  1. Honestly, Desmond is my least favorite part of the games. I get taken out of this great story only to deal with someone I have no interest in what so ever.

Maybe I just don't get the point of Desmond. I feel he's an unnecessary connection for the games.

  2. So, I've played Ass Creed 1 and Ass Creed 3. Was disappointed by 1 and mildly amused by 3, but only for a short period of time. 4 looks like a lot of fun, especially since I quite enjoyed the ship battles. Is it worth trying 4 when it gets nice and cheap?

  3. As a person who took a decade to do fuck all (drugs and video games) I fully support doing something that you find interest in, even if it isn't your life's work. Any knowledge you gain is something you can take into another field when inspiration hits. I had a go at being an actor, then a production designer/writer/film maker, which I have since given up on. But I now take all that knowledge and experience into my next field, which will be teaching.

Go for it Analog. You can always move onto something else if the mood takes you, be it product testing (animal torture), plastic surgeon (specified animal surgeon), or professional dog walker (professional dog walker).

  4. Speaking of history, today, we celebrate the 226th anniversary of the day the English invaded an occupied land for the purpose of relocating criminals from the Mother country with barbecued meat, copious amounts of beer, cricket on the telly and for the lucky majority, a trip to the beach.

    Happy Australia Day folks!

    This is unbelievably accurate.

The only thing I'd add is wearing an aussie flag either as a cape or on an article of clothing and if you go to the fireworks it is obligatory to get into a fight.

If you know a good one, please post a documentary for me to watch.

And does England still own y'all?

  5. I have to agree with both sides here. I love GTAV and GTAO, but since their releases I've felt like I was playing a slightly broken game, which has never been the case for any other GTA or R* title. I'm gonna keep on coming back and dumping many, many hours into GTAO, but it was a bit more than a let down to see that I can't play what is easily my favorite past time for 24 hours. For me, it's something I've not seen in gaming before.

All that said, R* is still my favorite game maker. Guess I'll go back to GTAV or RDR for the day.

    Edit:

It seems that GTAO is back up and running, so

  6. I haven't come across that particular theory in his writings. He's taken evidence put forward by some geologists suggesting that the pyramids and the sphinx are thousands of years older than Egyptologists suggest. He also believes that humanity has been around much longer than we presently believe, but he's more of an investigative journalist than a historian.

On a side note, my aunt played Kurt Russel's wife in Stargate.

  7. Let me introduce you to John Green and Crash Course History.

I am a big fan of this show, and where I more of a science geek, I'd probably watch the stuff that his brother Hank put out there as well.

For anyone taking a history classes, now or in the future, be advised that I have aced two class by doing little to no reading of the text book and only watching various episodes and doing some online reading. Enjoy!

Also, I'd love to see some general discussion of history in this thread.
