  1. Countries like Germany and Australia doesn't allow much violence, so maybe companies figured they just as well might make the game less violent entirely, instead of making own versions for other countries. Borderlands 2, Call of Duty (after WaW), GTA (after SA) and many other games had less gore than the previous titles. Shame.

We can have violent videogames now, thanks to our new ratings laws.

  2. Bill Burr's tour videos of LA are great. Coincidentally enough, he was also Jason Michaels in GTA IV.

I just thought I'd share my wishlist from November 2011, which I wrote just after the first trailer was released. As you'll notice, I've (X)ed everything that has been confirmed in the game so far...

    Tech.

More TV (Or as much TV) [X]

News Programs (up to date) []

Movies (like RDR but modern) []

Some more fun in-game videogames (Like Bully) []

Internet and email (maybe this time with a video site?) [X]

Smart phone with camera (that saves) and video recording (maybe internet?) [X]

    City.

More interiors on larger buildings (like L.A Noire, but MORE) [X]

More nightlife (like TBOGT, but minus club management) - Vip access to certain clubs as the game progresses would be cool []

Maybe more usable restaurants (fast food, Usable Superstars, maybe classy places if necessary?) []

Purchasable safehouses (or at least more variety) []

Bigger safehouses (mulitple rooms or mansions with grounds would be awesome) [X]

Dynamic peds (like LA Noire and RDR) [X]

A shopping centre would be fun (Like Vice City) []

I can do without a lot of animals (Simply for cruelty reasons), but the occasional flying birds or wild animals might be fun. [X]

    Country town (or two) [X]

A huge forest around Mount Chilliad [X]

    Activities.

    Golf (confirmed?) [X]

Mount Chilliad jump - bike, car, parachutes [X]

Vehicle collection (Like Brucie and Stevie) [X]

    Weapons

    Silencers [X]

    Sticky Bombs (TBOGT Style) []

    AA12? []

    P90? []

    Transport.

    Usable Buses [?]

Monorails, trains more like IRL (with the ability to move around inside) []

    Water taxi's? []

    Player usable convertables [X]

Maybe custom paint jobs? (Basic at least) []

Carjacking should be simple, but could be more fun (like CTW) []

    Radio.

A 60's/70's Psychadelic Rock Station (somewhat confirmed?) [?]

Another classic Rock station can't go wrong []

    Maybe another 80's? (I wouldn't cry if they didn't though) [?]

Some more 90's Gangsta rap would be kinda cool []

More talk radio channels with multiple shows (GTA IV actually did it well) []

Lazlow back in a studio or something (He's in a tough spot atm...) []

    Misc.

More things to spend money on! (weapons and food are vital, not fun) [X]

Underwater diving (maybe a minisub or something?) [X]

A greater web of choice (if they go in that direction, if not, more like LA Noire's dynamic missions) [X]

Mission creator as DLC or something []

If the friend management minigame returns, make it more like TLAD and TBOGT [X]

Fuck the GF minigame, as in "do-away-with-it" (if a GF is vital, just add them to the storyline) [X]

A more useful and beneficial collectable []

Why not Co-op in some missions? []

A lot of my wishes have come true so far. I LOVE the fact that I wished for a minisub, and BAM, there's a minisub introduced last month!

  3. I don't know why this marketing technique is still surprising people. Happened with most/all of Rockstar's games to date. No regular news will be released until the 3 months before the release date (which we still don't have yet). Then you can expect regular updates nearly every day. We're still in the "small amounts of info released about once a month" period. For example, I thought Max Payne 3's story would end in the flavela section until a week before the game came out, due to the amount of info the released.

  4. Saints Row cars go from 0 to 100 in about a second, and the cars handle like they're magnetized to the road.

I was pretty good at driving in IV, but I know they've made it less realistic in V for the sake of the "Pick-up-and-play" game style.

I wonder if there'll ever be a topic in this forum that doesn't grind down to "Waa! GTA IV was SO baaaad! Waaa! Waaa!"

  5. little bits of info from this - http://www.gamekings...les-over-gta-v/

    • He confirms that it wasn't a cutscene when he sits next to the pool, gets up and goes inside it was actual gameplay.

    • He also explains how the switching feature works there is an indicator for each and every protagonist on the zoomed out map which you can select and switch (not scripted)

    • He confirms that the mission that was showed during the press showing is 100% gameplay even parts that normally would be a cutscene.

that's about the only newish info. we already knew most of that. just interesting about the cut scene notes.

I translated that article. Now I can't stop laughing!

"If Rockstar fart who has a bit of a GTA flavors, then the world is at their feet. This is unfortunately a bit for us here in the newsroom."

"Everything about GTA V is immediately fully inflated. Just a simple logo ensures that the whole world stopped and everyone all the other "important" things around him forget."

  6. Downloadable Music... that's what i want. I have a feeling the music might suck because all the music of today sucks. They are trying to go modern even with the songs they have in the game, so i'm not expecting anything great like in Vice City, so really imma just stick with talk shows in V.

    Ogden's Nut Gone Flake - 1968

    Skeletons - 1987

    Radar Love - 1973

Because all those tracks are SO modern. There's NO WAY there could be radio stations with variety in a GTA game, we've NEVER seen that before. :luis:

Oh i didn't realize you worked for Rockstar and knew those were in the game just because they used them for the trailer. FYI jackass, i never said their wouldn't be older music, i just said they are trying to go modern, and that most modern music sucks.

Name one instance when a piece of music in a Rockstar trailer wasn't in the game itself? With regards to Radar Love, several previews sited it as being in the game, as they heard it during the demo. Also, every GTA game set in (or near) modern times has modern music in it. Most of it's not bad, but if you hear something you don't like, you have the ability to change to another station.

  8. Just an update on the radio, Lazlow (in-game DJ and Rockstar's Head of Audio Production) has been silent on his website and Twitter for nearly two months straight. In the past, this has happened during the period when the radio (and TV) content is being recorded and edited, so we can assume that all the radio stations and TV shows ect. are being put together at the moment.

Unfortunately, Lazlow said that he was prescribed heavy sleeping medication during the production of San Andreas due to the amount of stress he was under, and once said that GTAIV "damn near killed me". GTAV must be a nightmare to produce by comparison!

  9. If they added a theatre, it could be used to replay cutscenes from completed missions.

    VCS had something like that.

I imagine the cutscenes in V will be something to see. Between laughs, action, and cinematics, we're in for a treat (that is, if the trailers are anything to estimate by).

In VCS you could watch the Phil Collins concert at the Hyman Stadium after you finished "In the Air Tonight". Quite a stretch to say that you could watch cutscenes from the story.

Although I remember in Saints Row 2 all you could watch on the TV was the cutscenes from the game. Maybe you were thinking of that.

  10. still haven't pre ordered it yet. still unsure on when or where i'm even going to buy it haha

Heaven forbid those hundreds of posts you made while Moderating a GTA V forum should all be for nothing...

You know what, I think I'll just cancel my pre-order and just wait for Saints Row 4. After all this awesome hype and exciting shit we've never seen in a GTA game before, I'm not even going to waste my time playing it.

In all seriousness, you guys do realise that you can pre-order the special edition before it's announced? I did that with Max Payne 3 and Far Cry 3 last year. Plus since most of you guys are in the US, it'd be way cheaper for you brand new than it is here in Aus...

  11. New radio station and DJ

    http://www.cinemable...nsky-51114.html

"Like the song “Nightcall” from the Drive soundtrack? Awesome, then you'll probably love Nightride FM given that it'll be hosted by the really cool French DJ, Kavinsky. He's known for his 1980s Miami-themed dark-wave electronic music and it will be making an appearance in the upcomingGrand Theft Auto V, due out this spring for home consoles and later on for PC.

Attack of the Fanboy managed to get hold of info from Twitter about the DJ's involvement with Rockstar's upcoming open-world action game, saying...

DJ Kavinsky has confirmed that he will be appearing in GTA V on the station, which would come as no surprise as he also contributed to GTA IV. The artist confirmed the news via Twitter, but didn’t offer any other details about his involvement in the game.

I thought that Pacific Coast Highway from that album would be better suited to GTA V... A lot of Kavinsky's music sounds like it was inspired by Jan Hammer, who appeared in Vice City.

Also, one of those articles has some very interesting news...

"Not only has the radio been a major feature and focus of all "Grand Theft Auto" titles, but so has the open-world gamers get to explore." NO WAY!!!

""Additionally, fans of 'GTA 5' can take a look at the slide-show listed above this article, which features screenshots taken from this title," the report stated." CAN I REALLY???!!!

  12. Marney worked for Rockstar now? :bullshit:

Even if he did, the developers (save those high up in the food chain i.e Leslie Benzies) don't ever really see what the final game looks like all together until just before it's released. Even testers are given specific instructions to follow and are given certain builds to test. All of the above are contracted to secrecy with a non-disclosure clause, and since Rockstar reads over all the forums, if Marney was an employee, they would have picked up on it and investigated.

I'm a tester (non-videogame), and ALL companies take employee information leaks SUPER seriously. I'm not even allowed to talk to my closest friends about work-stuff...

  13. im looking forward to the mechanics of actually taking off in that airliner (other planes too)...i hope it is not automated and you can actually land/take off yourself...merry christmas btw!!

Yeah, it always used to annoy me in past GTA's how you would be driving, then the game would automatically park in a parking spot whenever you wanted to get out of the car. Or when you're driving a boat, and the boat would automatically dock itself and the character would get out and rope it to the dock (and you couldn't skip it). It really annoyed me, however, when you would go to jump out of a helicopter and the game would automatically land you on the nearest "H" landing spot and you would just step out. I really hope they fix this in GTA V. :luis:
