I bought a DVI to HDMI cable for £2 on ebay, and it works perfectly. Not sure if the sound is Hi-Def, but it does sound crisp. I guess any noticeable sound quality depends on what your sound output is. @Fitty - yeah i may do that at some point. I'll get a few nicer shots and make a wallpaper pack.

I finally got a chance to hook up GTA IV (PC) to my TV using HDMI. And it does look pretty nice in all it's hi-res 1080p glory. Here are a couple of pics i couldn't help but take! They'd make nice wallpapers

Well if it is Los Santos we have to have some West Coast Rap, I'd like that. I'd kind of like some FMX FM seeing as we didn't get that in IV. That was kind of disappointing. If there is any surrounding country-side then I'd like the Journey radio station to make a return and maybe some hill billy banjo songs. I'm not really distracted by a certain song genre tbh. Anything that fits the theme and time of the game will work for me.

Nah, i don't have time to make time lapses, and i haven't got the latest ENB settings yet, so mine don't look as slick as these.

Nice read. Most of it we had already established between us, but good read none-the-less. One thing i don't agree with though. They wont use real world names and locations. It's fact that they use real world names during development, and even leave the real-world names in the files on the game Discs. GTA IV for example had all of the new york equivalents in the file packages and even the names of the models and textures; New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Bronx. The actor list is still part of development. It will be Los Santos fo' sho' if it is set in Hollywood. Also, i didn't agree what he said about using the layout of L.A. Noire schematics or whatever. They wont do that. They'll create a city that feels like L.A. But wont copy the layout like Team Bondi did. It's just not their style. If they did however want to save development time and money, they could always use models from Midnight club L.A. That would be a better guess. Thumbs up for that Jamie.

Yeah i have, but I'm not that good at modelling characters, that's why I'm an environment artist. i can draw characters well, but trying to make them in 3D i find hard.

@D-O - Lolz thanks buddy. Was that a come-on? @Mass - Yeah i went with the gun store idea in the end. Have been thinking of loads of random names to make it a bit comical. It's going to be either "Billy's Arm n' Load" or "Lock n' Larry's" with "Guns New & Used" under it. Here is the final low-poly model for in-game. I'm still working on the Textures at the moment. There is so much highh-res detail going on, i had to use 3 texture sheets! I may still dress it with more assets once I've finished the textures..

How did your last computer die? Do you overclock then?

Nice. If you do go with Nvidia then I'd advice that GTX 560Ti as it has decent overclocking headroom and has great cooling. It's the best mid to high end graphics card i could get for my money anyway. I can run pretty much every game no higher than 65 degrees. Your case looks a little ventless though. What size fan does the sliding door have on it? Would be cool if you modded it and had a large fan at to top. Overall that will be a pretty decent setup though

Cheers. I took your advice. I'm almost finished now. Just need a shop sign, a back door and I'm good to go on the low poly model. Hmm i don't know what shop to make it. I did plan on making two or three shops and then a few other generic western town assets like water towers and a mining track.

I started an environment diorama for my portfolio today. I'm still in the blocking stages at the moment. I was inspired by RDR no doubt, but i want a sort of cartoon'ish look. For example the wooden planks will be a little crooked, and not your generic shape, the houses will have a crooked look to them also. I don't quite know how far I'll get with this before I run out of steam, but I'll try my best to follow it through to the end. I need something decent for my website anyway! Early layout: Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful

Sounds interesting. Hmm. A co-op subway mission where you and your buddy get caught up inside a train with another gang and a bomb. You have to kill your way the front end and pull the e-brake to escape before it blows.

Crap textures That's why that ice dude and his team are overhauling textures.

iCEnhancer 1.25 has just been released. I think this is the last version of this mod, as he's decided to do a complete HD texture overhaul mod, which is to remake all the textures in IV... iCEnhancer 1.25
