i actually will walk around and avoid animals early in the game for that very reason... and run into the middle of them with a melee or unarmed weapon later in the game... again, i find the CQC to be the most effective way to handle the mojave... sure, anyone can pick enemies off from a 100 yards out with a pistol... but getting into the middle of a swarm of animals/creatures is the most effective way to deal with them... there's plenty of stimpacks and weapon repair kits and pre-war suits to keep me going strong... it's the legion/NCR hit squads that tend to use up precious 12 gauge ammo, or MF cells... creatures are the least of my worries throughout the game...

it's a charisma hit of 6 points that keeps me away from the the animal friend perk... i had it in fallout 3 for one of my side characters, but i still can't find a purpose to the charisma skill when i can improve it by investing points into speech and barter... yea sure the very select few perks that correspond to charisma seem like fun, but those other SPECIAL skills are so very important that it's hard to put more than 3 or 4 into charisma...

be aware of the nightstalkers... you'll know what i am talking about soon enough... you know they're in big MT, get ready to see them come from nowhere, unless you're always a sneaking person to begin with... even then, they'll still surprise you, and in packs... in the big MT, they live up to their name, "stalker"... but the "night" part doesn't make sense to me since they'll come after you in the daytime...

pfft, i got that tuesday off, but the playstation store never updates until around 6pm... and by that time i will be on my way to northern michigan to play a round of golf at a premier and nationally recognized country club... but we get back wednesday evening, so i should have that evening to play it...

i am sure the beta only runs for a limited amount of time... like say, maybe a month tops... so you might wanna just download it now and play it when you get the chance... but you'd better do it soon, the brotherhood beta didn't last long...

seems to like their ideals, especially considering how far elijah is from that idea... he really doesn't like elijah, and he did kind of send him off to his death in the madre by telling him of that death trap... perhaps he's a brotherhood himself?? a thought just came to me... i wonder if ulysses is the one that shot ED-E... since ED-E seems to revolve around a side-quest in LR... and what do you do if ED-E is dead?! i surely hope collecting his upgrades aren't detrimental the main story of LR...

you haven't had the burned man as a follower yet?? he's wickedly good with his unique .45... i think you can only get him for one journey, so next time i go there, i am going to exploit it a little and use him to do side-quests and explore tougher caves... i am actually getting very close to sending my little asian follower to zion... old world blues is a must have, stoic... you'll really really enjoy it, you have to play it... and lonesome road is just two weeks away!! i'm getting all excited about the final chapter of new vegas... the only story still left unanswered... ...and have you been to vault 11 or 34 yet??? those are stories within themselves... vault 11's vault-tec purpose and vault 34's crazy maze full of baddies... ---------------------- apparently bethesda released an audio log found in lonesome road... i am not gonna listen to it for fear of spoilers, and if it's found in lonesome road, i will find it myself... but any of you are welcome to check it out, but please discuss it in spoiler tags...

it's actually 1.3 gallons, under the floor board... it's 49cc, but tops out at 42 MPH... 45 if duck down a bit ... it came with red LED lights installed underneath the front/back/center (for free i might add), but i am going to customize the hell out of it this winter... it's going to be a fucking pimp ride by spring... i should take a picture of it at nighttime...

it's a little corny, but it least a group of fans have done something like this... and i admire it, but i don't think it's all that good... i've only seen a couple episodes though, but i don't know if there are anymore than that... not sure how i'd feel about a TV series though, i just don't think it would be done right... i don't want to see someone ruin it, at least with the fan series, they're staying true to the game... you know that once hollywood gets a hold of it, it won't resemble anything at all like fallout...

too true... you're constantly swapping armors early since they deteriorate quickly... but in the latter levels, you're untouchable most of the time, which requires minimal repair... however, light armors do deteriorate quicker it seems, so collecting some pre-war outfits will always pay off in the end since you do take some damage... it's your great weapon skills mixed with various perks that make losing health at a minimum later in the game... but your armor always suffers... jury rigging is still the "essential" perk for wasteland survival... i kinda wonder if i should try playing the game with heavy armor... i NEVER play with it, it's not useful enough, and takes up too much inventory space... hampers my skills to be honest... light armors are the signature armor with new vegas... medium was in F3...

what are those? the repair kits work on all weapons, perhaps you're talking about a very select few armors... now that sakura is a friend of the followers, i did just get my hands on the all-purpose scientist suit... not sure if any light armor can repair it...

yea, jury rigging is probably the best perk in the game... there's plenty of materials lying around the wastes to create repair kits with... but i don't even bother collecting them anymore on my main characters, i just buy repair kits from the sierra madre vending machine now... i find the jury rigging perk works best on armor... any light armor can repair any other light armor... and the same for medium and heavy armors... that right there is what makes the perk so valuable, especially since there are some really really nice light armors out there, and being able to use a wasteland wanderers robe to repair it saves so much money... i don't even really use weapons to repair other weapons anymore, i just use repair kits...

for bones, the fully modded .45 auto pistol is killer... for delilah i now use the tarantula sonic emitter... i was using the pew pew but the emitter doesn't use up nearly as much ammo and the sneak criticals make it one of the deadliest weapons in the game... for my newly created sakura, she uses the plasma defender for now... you always ALWAYS need a trusty sidearm...

compliance regulator... that's what my pacifist follower is missing... she's nearing the point of venturing to zion... i'm still a bit confused with the GRA... so these items are being sold across the mojave?? what about the unique versions?? i get it that they're releasing general versions of these weapons for repairing and modding purposes... i wonder if there's going to be a generic holorifle or pulse gun? dunno about this pack though, i mean, i'll buy it... but it's sounding not nearly as cool as i thought it would be... it doesn't sound like a fetch quest at all, but mearly something else to buy from merchants... sounds like i am going to need a buttload of caps... i do have quite a few, but something tells me buying a few unique weapons fully repaired will diminish my 50,000 caps pretty fast... i might have to bring a gold bar for trade if that's the case...

@MASSACRE hey, i've got an itch to play DM again, but have no character even remotely close to being ready... dead money has grown on me, and unless lonesome road blows me away (figuratively and literally), DM will end up being the second best add-on... old world blues was too much fun that i highly highly doubt LR will surpass it, and honest hearts was too bland... you seem to like to create characters that use one gun exclusively... i can't imagine going through the game only using the 10mm... eventually later in the game my characters settle on a weapon, but they still have a few options in case that one doesn't work in the current situation...

sounds like too much work of trial and error... i don't plan on sitting there for two hours trying to get everything to work just right... and having to restart when it doesn't... i am thinking that another possible way to do this is to lure elijah down to the vault, then fight him carrying all the gold bars... when he's dead, drag his body to up against the force field and put all the gold bars on him... then run around and when you reach the end, do that 3rd person camera trick to see if you can loot him from the other side of the force field... if anything, that's the trick i am going to try since it seems easier to pull off rather than trying to get the explosions and everything else to work just right... not sure if i will be allowed enough time though to run around and then loot the body... i'll try it though in the months to come, whenever i create my final courier... i highly doubt my other two characters will even attempt dead money...

Tried it already back when it was first posted. did it work?? sounds plausible though, but i couldn't tell if he ever blew up the explosives... was that to take out elijah?? -------------------------------------------------- meet sakura, she's a follower... i reached freeside at level 3 or 4 (level 8 now)... i stuck mainly to the roads and the outskirts of towns, up in the hills, taking the route the game kinda forces you to take... only had to deal with raiders here and there, as well as the wandering creature... but i stayed away from towns and quests... i did hit up a couple locations so i had some fast-travel points... she's done pretty much everything there is to do as a follower, now she's starting to do more for the citizens of freeside... and eventually she'll work with north vegas, zion, and that other settlement near there, westside?? she's got a pass for the strip, and maybe 800 caps, but not looking to branch out the quests just yet... she's done a lot of work for free, and i actually want to try and play this game with a low cap count... she doesn't care about caps, she only cares to help others... which is why rex is in the party, on his way to jacobstown... i don't plan on stopping in any of the caves up here yet, she's nowhere near ready ... but she's good to go to reach jacobstown... i love playing a new character ...

ehh, amazon still carries collector's editions for even fallout 3... it's a safe bet that you could wait a while and still get it... i am actually more interested in the ring, i would probably wear it as a necklace... the belt buckle looks dumb to me though, it looks like the indianapolis colts logo and i fucking hate any team from indiana... then again, i might just rent uncharted 3 and bypass buying it altogether...

you can blame steam for that one... if microsoft had control of that, they'd release it there alongside the xbox release...

it's not the tranny, it's the fond memories of trapping neighbors in the basement in route to a slow death by starvation... i think i am going to try the death by flies trick by constantly feeding them until there's too many plates... never tried that one...
