he's got a chance to be another peyton manning... but it's hard to predict a collegiate draft pick... there's only so many sure things... i am not so sure he is one of those guys... the last two sure things i spotted in the draft in recent years were both drafted by the detroit lions... calvin johnson and ndamukong suh... i am still not sold on luck yet, but despite losing almost every game last year, the colts still have a nucleus of good players, a lot of peyton's old offense is still there... i say they go 5-11...
-
they're trying to cut down on the concussions though, which i kinda of see a point in... when you wear all of that padding, you kind of feel a little invincible, which makes the game exciting because players hit at full speed and tackle with full strength... it's exciting, but it's taking a toll on their long term health... but yea, i say give them all those modified helmets and let them try to take someone out... if you make tackling a crime, you might as well give them all flags and play flag football..
-
love the big easy... they got themselves in a bit of a problem lately though... a lot of defensive players in the league are defending them though... that bounty thing happens in every locker room...
-
tolbert is like a bowling ball... i like one of your former backs, darren sproles... i've liked him since college, i even got a bears question answered on their website where i suggested that we draft him back in the day... needless to say they questioned his size and if he could translate his skills to the NFL level... i look like a genius looking back on that one...
-
yea, i got a raider's fan that's pissed about that one... i feel bad for forte though, he still hasn't gotten paid, despite being one of the 5 best backs in the league... signing bush isn't helping his cause either... poor fella... you guys got a nice stable of backs... matthews and tolbert... did matthews get hurt last year??
-
i am glad we're not longer tied to mike martz... we've got one of the best backs, a darn good QB and trio of capable receivers... i think we'll be alright... my bigger concern is on the defensive side... we're not getting any younger, and charles tillman can't be the only guy in the secondary... i think the new drafts picks on that side should contribute...

that's because of mike martz's 7 back-step passing attack... all of mike martz's offenses lead the league in sacks allowed because the QB has to take 4 more steps backwards than most offenses... we're going to a more run-oriented attack this year, with big plays in the passing game opening up from that... we have the QB to do it and the WR's now... plus, we lost two of our top offensive linemen last year, including our #1 pick from the last draft... so it's like we're adding two new linemen and eliminating the time it takes to make a pass... we should be aight...

@ darkstroller - blah blah blah... keep strolling off-topic will ya?? SD is quite the conundrum... i still can't figure them out... they have one of the best QB's, and a D that shows flashes of greatness... yet, they struggle at times and can't seem to win in the playoffs... but a lot of that blame can go to your kicker... he's one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history, yet he's one of the worst playoff kickers ever... he can't handle the pressure of the big kick...

***SPOILERS*** Marvel's The Avengers Assemble

Loki? You mean the guy that was giving the orders to the aliens whose name I don't know how to spell? He was standing next to Thanos. Look him up if you like, I'm typing this on my phone or I would explain the whole deal. via wikipedia Thanos is a mutant member of the race of superhumans known as the Titanian Eternals. The character possesses abilities common to the Eternals, but in some cases far beyond any other known member of his race; acquired through a combination of his mutant Eternal heritage, bionic amplification, mysticism, and the entity Death. He has demonstrated enormous superhuman strength, stamina, and particularly durability; is able to absorb and project vast quantities of cosmic energy; is virtually ageless and immortal; does not need food, drink, or oxygen; and is capable of certain telekinesis, as well as telepathy and matter manipulation. The advanced technology within his transportation chairs includes force field projection, time travel, movement through alternate universes, space flight, and teleportation over interstellar distances. Thanos is an accomplished hand-to-hand combatant, having been trained in the art of war on Titan. Thanos possesses superhuman intellect (he considers his mind his greatest weapon) and has knowledge of Celestial and other alien technology. Thanos is a genius in virtually all known fields of advanced science and has created technology far exceeding contemporary Earth science. He is also a master strategist and sometimes utilizes a space vessel called Sanctuary II as a base of operations. sounds like tony stark and bruce banner will have their hands full there...- 38 replies

what.the.hell.bro OK, I've only watched one Football game (other side of the pond Football), and I liked it, it was the Superbowl thing, and I know it was Tom Brady's team vs a guy that is supposedly a virgin, I can't remember his name, either way, they both did great. I couldn't watch the whole game, but that Brady guy looked very good. And how can you say anyone gives Football (the real one) a bad name when the OP himself went full retard while opening the topic. you might be the only civil person on this subject... every time there's an american football topic, it get ruined by fucks from europe who want to stroke their penis thinking about david beckham and the mighty white ball they kick around... i agree the OP didn't help, which is why i requested it to be closed... but your topic all mentions REAL football... our football is real too...

i looked at a list of captain america's villains and they're categorized alphabetically... yea, there's a lot of source material there... and thor has multiple realms of enemies... earth was just one of those realms, but it's where a lot of the avenger battles take place...- 38 replies

the thor universe is quite relatively untouched too... and unfortunately, captain america killed off his main nemesis, red skull, in his movie if i recall... but there's still plenty to do with that source material...- 38 replies

and we really could use some proper sports topics... there are other sports out there besides both versions of football... to get back on topic, how do you guys think your team did during the draft?? i think the bears addressed all of their needs in the draft, grabbed a pass-rusher with the 1st pick, a potential future elite receiver to complement brandon marshall, and added about 4 guys to the secondary...

yea, didn't dr. doom make an appearance in the avenger comics too?? the hulk might not really need another movie to be honest... he's been done and re-done a bunch of times already... but i think robert downey jr. is the perfect tony stark, and i would love to see another iron man movie...- 38 replies

***SPOILERS*** Marvel's The Avengers Assemble
CaPn bOnEs replied to Ku Zi Mu's topic in Graphics, Media & Entertainment
i think heath ledger's joker is one of the greatest movie characters of all time, but it's not quite a comic book character... watchman was pretty good too, i tend to forget about that movie... joss whedon was definitely the man for the job though, he managed to make all the characters fit and jell... and yea, he does give females too much air time, and unfortunately hawkeye didn't get his due because of it... i like the black widow and i do love scarlett, but i thought it was a bit much at times... i really thought captain america grew into his own in this movie too... despite being lost in the 40's, when it came time to fight the enemy, he stepped into the captain's role and led his team into battle... while guys like iron man and thor handled the fight from the skies... and the hulk, well he's just the hulk, he does his own thing... but the cap'n kept the team together and focused, and helped lead the SHIELD units as well... it's just a good collaboration to be honest... i wouldn't mind seeing captain america 2, thor 2, iron man 3, another hulk, and maybe even a SHIELD movie... then bring them all together again to fight another threat, like we saw in the credits... there's still lots of material out there to keep making marvel movies...- 38 replies

if CoD doesn't want to do historic battles anymore, at least stick to the modern warfare battles... don't do this futuristic warfare, it just doesn't feel like call of duty at all, despite looking exactly like all the ones before it... seriously, are they ever going to improve the game?? i feel like i am looking at the same graphics and engine from the first modern warfare... there comes a time when the engine has to be updated, but when you pump out a game a year, you don't have time to rebuild the engine...

***SPOILERS*** Marvel's The Avengers Assemble
CaPn bOnEs replied to Ku Zi Mu's topic in Graphics, Media & Entertainment
yea, the chemistry between all the characters is what sold me on this team... while i feel that everyone got their fair share of on-screen time, i do agree that thor felt a little distant to the story dispite it being about his adopted brother... which also led to a hilarious line... and hawkeye really didn't have much of a role until the final act... but i thought the interaction between iron man, captain america, and the hulk was worth the admission all in itself... like when iron man asks cap'n what he sees looking at the motherboard and he says, "it appears to run on electricity" ... captain america felt like a fish out of water when he wasn't fighting for the avengers and that was perfect!! he even played some old school space invaders at one point!! and really, the hulk was the show stealer in my opinion... and a lot of the time it was the dialog between him as banner, and tony stark... they're clearly on the same level when it comes science and tech, and you can see immediately that they're going to work good together... and hulk stole every action scene he was in... aliens coming down 5th street? hulk smash... aliens closing in on the group? hulk smash... thor and hulk fighting aliens in a skyscraper? hulk smash, and then smash thor in a hilarious exchange ... loki threatens hulk by telling him who he is?? hulk thrashes him around like a ragdoll... iron man plummeting to earth unconscious?? hulk saves!! then screams at him to wake him up ... clearly he was the show stealer here... hulk was easily the best character in this film... i found SHIELD to have it's moments, but like i said hawkeye didn't get his due while the black widow surprisingly actually had more scenes than the rest of them... sam jackson of course did his thing and clearly is the man for the job as his previous cameos lead up to this moment... and that chick from "how i met your mother" didn't do too shabby either.. i agree, this is nearly perfect... i'd give it a 9.5/10... and i have to see it again, but i do think it's better than dark knight... this feels more like a comic book full of superheroes... dark knight is more of a realistic gritty endeavor about a psycho who wants to watch the world burn... it doesn't feel a lot like a comic book...- 38 replies
