  1.

That funmw2 guy from gtaforums has been reading through the latest patch code, and seems to have found strings of code for a new ("LOW") Low Rider content pack incoming. Some old cars will have the lowrider functionality added in LS Customs as well as a couple of new rides.

    As suspected.

  2. not so sure about that one... we could perhaps check out some of the outfits, in the next couple of days... of course naturally, it will eliminate female characters from playing in this event, or at least not in pictures or something... seems more complicated than it sounds...

    Not necessarily....

  3.

looking at level 10 charisma like wha?!?!...

    attachicon.gif10-charisma.png

probably still not worth the investment, but i am intrigued...

Successfully sneaking into melee range and speaking to someone catches them off guard, allowing you to rob, disarm, and/or convince them to surrender, to bypass combat entirely.

It's mentioned in the article...  it's the Intimidation perk where you can force your enemies to fight or do shit for you...

  4. Fuck... forgot about character creation... *buys meth and books time off work*

I am finding that New Vegas isn't as engaging as FO3... I seem to walk for miles with nothing to look at or kill...  I've picked up 2 companions now - ED-E and Veronica... I am just checking out the Ranger stations for Reyes before sorting Benny out...

  5. Still no Dogmeat...

In NV I rolled something like:

    S - 4

    P - 6

    E - 7

    C - 1

    I - 8

    A - 6

    L - 7

Assuming that adds up. Perception may have been 5. I've been told I build weird, though.

It all depends how you want to play. Unless you're going melee I'd drop your strength down from 7/8. Charisma is a totally useless stat in the game, as with high intelligence you get more than enough skill points to max speech. If I had my time over I'd drop my perception lower again, as when wearing a hat and with ED-E's sensor perk it was actually too high for my liking, as enemies appeared on my radar at a great distance so I had no idea how close they actually were. I always load up on luck as it influences critical chance, all your skills and I think some of the random items you find. Also, having high luck is useful in the casinos. If you want to do anything I'd drop strength (you can still have it higher than 4, I travel light) and charisma and put it into endurance (who doesn't like health?) and luck. Also don't forget certain perks have a SPECIAL requirement, so if you have your heart set on one of them keep it in mind when building.

I assumed Strength helped with HP and as a hoarder, I like to carry as much as possible, which is why I try to get that as high as possible...  I like to try to get as much HP as possible because I am quite useless at combat...

As a completionist, this game is frustrating as hell...  I have somehow ended up with some NCR fame, which I am hoping doesn't automatically shut the door on doing a few tasks for the Legion...

Also, where do I find Boone if I don't automatically recruit him as a companion?

  6. I have finally got into the role of the Courier in New Vegas now...

He is basically good, looking out for the small towns and people who are just trying to look after themselves in the harsh environment... I am trying to maintain neutrality with the big factions at the moment but I feel that a showdown with Caesar's Legion is imminent...   I trust the NCR to a point but I am not sure I subscribe to their philosophy...

The search for the people who tried to kill me is still in the back of my mind, but I want to be prepared for the worst, so I am building up experience and a good supply of weapons and caps so I am ready for any type of battle.  I have based myself in Goodsprings at the moment but have recently been given a room in Novac, so I may relocate...  Jenny May is dead but I left Boone in the sniper tower as I don't want a companion at the moment... if the shit hits the fan with Caesar, then Boone is gonna be my shit shield...  cleared out HELIOS One and am now on my way to the REPCONN test site to check out the ghouls...

Just out of interest, how do you set your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. up for a first play through?  In both FO3 and FONV, I have put 7-8 in Strength, Intelligence and Agility and generally spread the rest pretty evenly...    I probably have Luck too high in NV (5) but I thought it might be useful on the Strip...

And, which of these would you increase at the expense of the others?  Perception, Endurance and Charisma?

  7. I was always of the opinion that SP DLC was never on the cards but at least they could add some decent missions, events etc for us online hermits...

I am sure playing with others is fun but GTA is built on the single player experience and if they keep moving away from that, then maybe my love affair with them is over...  *removes arm around Rockstar's shoulders, slides a little closer to Bethesda*

  8. I couldn't communicate again... could see you online in the PS dashboard, but not in-game... one day, one day... maybe I should clear my cache whatever the fuck that means (Rockstar Support's version of the office helpdesk's "have you tried restarting your computer?")

  9. I'm delighted by how much Atwood is on your list. B) A bit more CanLit and you'll be eligible to apply for a Canadian passport. :ike:

Suggested Canadian authors: Michael Ondaatje, Yann Martel, Alice Munro, Mordecai Richler, Carol Shields, Rohinton Mistry, Miriam Toews, Anne-Marie MacDonald, Robertson Davies...I could go on.

A friend at work lent me Attachments by Rainbow Rowell.

It's pretty hilarious so far. Reading other people's work emails for security purposes...now that's entertainment.

Went for Ondaatje and The Cat's Table - very good read.

Try Eleanor Catton - born in Canada, raised in New Zealand, won the Booker Prize for The Luminaries, which is a good read but a bit long winded...

I'm a bit embarrassed at the lack of NZ writers on my list...

Read a whole book during my platelet donation... When Elves Attack by Tim Dorsey... fucking brilliant...  great characters... totally out-there humour, especially the murder methods...

  10. I remember losing Dogmeat early on in my FO3 game...  ran into him about 60-70 game hours later with the item I had sent out to look for...

New Vegas is going slowly....  on my way up to Novac from Nipton...  tried to head east from Bradley's Shack, got raped by ghouls and glowing ones... tried to head to Novac straight from Goodsprings and got stalked by a seemingly over-powered giant rad scorpion...  hopefully I can pick up some decent weapons soon....

  11. woah. For fucking real?

well then... ok... I mean, I'd fuck her either way...

    got a face pic?

Yeah it's fucking gross... but my tolerance for transgender freakery is pretty low...

For relevance, I've arrived at the Mojave Outpost and about to go see what's happening in Nipton...  the factions thing is going to do my head in...
