The numbers match but the letters don't, the Aurora Basin is a good match. Problem is it's the same scale as the leaked map, it's meant to be an entire world map and even without the inclusion of New Austin it would cut off part of West Elizabeth.

I just saw this and it's just blown my mind a little. I'm not sure if my brain is tricking me into believing it or if it does actually match up! I just went hunting for the highest Res image i could find of the map. I realise it's probably just for show and not accurate. So i'm ignoring the grid and numbers and focusing on the slither of topography. Now we've seen much more of the map since this map image was released, we might have a better understanding of where it could be.

You forgot the most important update - "changed Lone Mule Steed to Lone Mule Stead" To me that top left area seems too empty now, we have this rather big map north east and south west joined by a small isthmus at Great Plains. Suppose it depends where and/or how far they go south of the river that side of Flatiron. Imagine if the map stretched round all the way to opposite St Denis. (Which you were postulating long ago with the desert.)

Minor Map Update v0.72 -Added new mountains into the mix -Added a Armadillo illustration -Fixed the grid to match the leaked map again (that will probably change soon, depending on how much new info we get)

Yeah it makes sense to me. They've been very secretive with the desert and the only reason I can think of is it's in Mexico, if it was an entirely new area i'm sure they'd want to showcase it. As always leave it to the Dutch to say fuck it to the rules. "Shorry guysh, we got a little bit crayshee over here. Harharhar!"

Here's that panoramic and a clearer shot of the Snowy mt/ West Elizebeth next to eachother. You can see if the far right corner that the desert landmass matches up, which also matches the new screenshot. That would be the unknown southern landmass across the Mexican boarder directly south of Flat Iron. A lot of the previews states that R* said they could go as far as the eye could see. And i'd imagine that bit of land is much more visable from the Horseshoe Overlook camp, which is where i'd aslo bet some of the previewers asked that very question.

Some less obvious ones now... ^Long-ass bridge must be the one near Lone Mule Stead going towards Horseshoe Overlook. Scenery fits. ^Pretty sure these are the Kerosene and Tar place. Note "No Smoking" sign on the tanks. ^Definitely Kerosene and Tar place. Says it on the sign to the right. ^South side of Valentine. Lawyer building on left, gun shop is right of that. Shack next to Keane's Saloon on far right in background. ^I'm 99% sure where these go on the map for St Denis. ^Bacchus Bridge ^Rhodes. Using the stack of what-looks-like-tires to the right of the small house, it appears to be the same house from the opening train scene. The train tracks in this pic are on the left along the wire poles just out of view due to the hill. You can see this hill in the opening scene once Arthur climbs up onto the train roof. ^Annesburg. First shot is the top of the tipple. Then the first person view is them going up the hill beyond. ^Doesn't appear to be Armadillo or Valentine for that matter. Even Tumbleweed doesn't look like it would fit back-in-the-day. So it's either one of the other places we have yet to really see or in that Mexico/whatever-island. update 2 hours later: I'm going to hate the St Denis map until we get the full thing... ^Note the bank location. It matches the middle X on the heist map. That or someone finally un-bends the whole thing. I was trying to find the edges of the polygons but it appears to be more detailed than one would think:

I spent more time looking at the locations than the actual gameplay. "oh look it's Rhodes" ... "oh shit St Denis!" etc etc @Dup I put links to the different resolutions in the trailer topic.
