Ace Of Spades 1182 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Ok so i've had my 320GB Ps3 slim for a few years now it's still working good but with GtaV coming out in September and figuring how many Ps3s have bit the dust due to overheating (that's how i lost my big old 80GB). I was thinking it would be a good idea to get an auxiliary cooling system one of those triple fan set ups. So my questions are, has anyone ever used one of these set ups? is it worth it? is there anything else i can do to reduce heat buildup?
DuPz0r 5361 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 They don't really help. I got given one, and tried it. It stayed hot and just collected more dust than the PS3 did.
Ace Of Spades 1182 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 ok thanks DuP. you think playing it while its in a fridge will help.
Indy 350 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 ok thanks DuP. you think playing it while its in a fridge will help. Yes. Alternatives: place it in an ice-cooler, place bags of frozen peas on it, hire an egyptian slave to fan it etc.
narcolepsy 581 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 All fat models are flawed in the same way as the original model xboxes are. It just takes longer for them to die.
Massacre 7646 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Get a small box fan for $10 and aim it at the PS3. All good. Also, if it's sitting in an enclosed TV stand, move it somewhere else. Keep it in open air.
GunSmith 2452 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Yes. Alternatives: place it in an ice-cooler, place bags of frozen peas on it, hire an egyptian slave to fan it etc. Just checked Craigslist. All I found were Sudanese, Libyan, and Israeli. Will they still work?

Edgecrusher 91 Report post Posted June 7, 2013 Never heard of any slim PS3 that overheats, so I wouldn't worry too much. I just got hold of a 40GB fat PS3 that overheats as soon as it's on the cross media bar. It's all good though; I'll be exchanging it for a 160GB as soon as I've finished bashing the Blockbusters assistant who sold me it round the head with it. narcolepsy 581 Report post Posted August 14, 2013 You shouldn't stickerbomb because: A- It'll look poop anyway B- when you realize it looks bad you will have adhesive all over the ps3!
